"This is a beautiful place to stay, so quiet and comfortable with shops within driving distance."
All that you need in the property. Thank you so much for the items you left for us to arrive to this was so helpful. We spent many an hour sat watching the wildlife from the windows and garden with a constant supply of visiting birds. Cannot fault this lovely cottage. Great for our pet too who was welcomed. We will definitely look forward to returning here.
Thank you for your comments so glad that you enjoyed your stay with us. Property Owner

"I booked this for my friend and her partner."
They didn't have a bad thing to say about it, lovely place with beautiful views. Said they could happily live there permanently. Bit out of the way, thought they were lost, but had good directions from owner. They have no sat nav or mobiles, just a map. Really enjoyed their stay. They loved the rural location a lot. She had an owl outside her room, enjoyed the wildlife.
We are so glad you enjoyed the country life. yes it is quite most of the time but county life still has to go on as well. most of the roads do bring you around to where you wont to go or end up. Property Owner

Clean cozy and well equipped. A lovely welcoming pack for us and our dog Roger. The field for Roger to run on was a real bonus. Plus a secure patio area outside the cottage. There are 2 dog friendly pubs within easy reach serving excellent food. We visited many market towns within easy reach.Highly recommended. Thank you for a lovely holiday, we will definitely be back next year

"Wonderful, spacious and clean cottage with absolute stunning views."
At our arrival we were welcomed with milk, bread, butter, biscuits and even fresh flowers! Our dog (and we!) enjoyed the walks right from our doorstep, with endless possibilities, but also the walks a short drive away in the Haugh woods! Just a few comments, positively meant: -the taps in the bathroom were constantly leaking, which means a significant loss of water on an annual basis. This also applies to the toilet water reservoir! - The matresses were rather wobbly and the double matress had a significant dent! Our impression was that the matresses were due for renewal! Apart from these issues we had a wonderful stay at the cottage with a 100% privacy!

"This is in an incomparable location with great views over woodland and farmland."
The cottage was very clean and comfortable with everything that you could possibly need. Despite only having one bedroom, it is also very spacious. The owner kindly provides several extras too, such as bread, butter, biscuits and eggs along with the regular "Welcome Pack" of tea, coffee, sugar and milk. Your dog does not lose out either, with treats provided for them, too. The patio garden has sun all day and a view to die for over the gorgeous herbaceous border, if you wanted to sit out under the sun umbrella all day. If you want to tour around, however, it is conveniently situated between Hereford and Ledbury with Hay on Wye, Ross on Wye and Ludlow more further afield. All of the above mentioned are well worth a visit. Altogether a piece of truly unspoilt rural heaven.

"The location is simply rural England at its best and The Carthouse was delightful in all respects."
Doggy heaven too, our highly regarded working cocker spaniel was truly in her element with great walks (runs!) on her doorstep. Woolahope is not just about the countryside it is ideally placed to visit historic gems such as Ross-on-Wye, Hereford and Ledbury.

"Excellent accommodation and very well equipped."
When we arrived I was very pleased with the high standard and facilities at the property. The views were amazing with access to walks in the countryside from the property. We had an excellent week in Herefordshire and we will be booking here again!
-
"The Carthouse is in such a lovely setting, with views over the fields and up to the woods from both the living room, and the courtyard."
The rooms are spacious and warm, and there was a lovely welcome pack of bread, butter, jam, biscuits and milk. Lots of interesting places to visit made this an ideal base for walking with our dog.
-

Phillip & Sarah have made the Courtyard a wonderful Home to stay well looked after and fully equiped. Really enjoyed our stay.

"The accommodation was much more private than I had anticipated and provided an excellent base for de-stressing and walking in the woods and hills."
-
"This cottage is miles from anywhere along very narrow roads with passing places and grass growing in the middle of the road."
The nearest shop is about three miles away along same arrow roads. If you want peace and quiet this will suit you down to the ground. The cottage itself was very nice with everything you could wish for including stocked cupboards and lovely gardens also very nice area to exercise the dog. No wifi
-
"Lovely, warm, comfortable cottage."
Nice position. In a complex but isolated and not overlooked. Well equipped except for no dishwasher. Missed having WiFi otherwise all good.
-
"I really loved this property."
It was incredibly well equipped and in a beautiful position. Very peaceful and relaxing. If I knit picked, I'd day aspects of the furnishings are a little tired. Not the most comfy bed, sofa or armchair - perhaps ready for renewal? But they're minor points.
-
"A very well equipped cottage in a tranquil, rural location but only a short drive from Hereford."
-
"This was our third time staying at the cottage."
It is one of the best we have been to. Comfortable, clean and in perfect location.
-
"Lovely location."
Very comfortable cottage and clean with some very good eating places close by. No WiFi which made it difficult to arrange days out. Plus we never met the owners of the property at any time during the holiday. Not on arrival or on our departure or anytime during our stay. Made us feel a little unwelcome. Specially as they lived in the farm opposite. But they did provide us with a nice range of wheatfree products which was nice.
-
"Our first visit to the Carthouse and it exceeded all expectations everything you could want from a holiday cottage set in wonderful surroundings."
The owner had also left a handy provisions pack greatly appreciated would definitely recommend.
-
"Excellent accomodation and location."
Would go again.
-
"There is no W Fi which ypu now take as normal."
Did not upset our holiday but would have been nice
-

Just 7 miles from Hereford, the picturesque village of Woolhope lies in unspoilt countryside and boasts two traditional village pubs, both serving excellent local food and real ale. Woolhope is close to the Wye Valley Walk, a 136-mile trail following the border between England and Wales, as well as The Hereforshire Trail and Three Choirs Way. Close by, Haugh Woods offer 850 acres of ancient forest boasting many rare species of moth and butterfly and numerous lovely walks through an unspoilt area of Herefordshire. Local produce can be acquired in the popular monthly farmers’ markets in Woolhope and nearby Fownhope, which boasts an Iron Age Hill Fort and stunning views from Capler Hill. Nearby Hereford, with its wonderful 11th century cathedral and famous Mappa Mundi is worth a visit, as are the riverside towns of Ross-on-Wye and Monmouth with their timbered buildings, striking 17th century market halls and excellent shops, pubs and restaurants.
