  • "Another great stay at The Log Cabin !"

We stayed at the log cabin in October last year and loved it so much we actually booked to come again during that stay. Beautifully presented, comfortable, spotlessly clean and so peaceful. Everything one needs is there. Ideal base for exploring the area and tourist attractions. David was there to greet us and once again made us feel very welcome. We hope to return for another stay. sometime. Thank you for another lovely stay.

The cabin is always spotless and well maintained. It’s well stocked and very comfortable. Dave is great and always checks if everyone’s ok, even shipping my wife’s coat which we left on accident. We will definitely back for visit number 3. Thank you again, Martin and family

From the start we were impressed and would highly recommend this Log Cabin to anyone. The Cabin was very spacious and even if it was to full capacity im sure would still be perfect. We had a lovely relaxing break and wanted for nothing. Kitchen well equipped, everywhere clean and the whole feeling was of a comfy home. Sitting on the verandah was fabulous even sunshine in February was stunning as were the views.

  • "We stayed in the log cabin from 7/10 to 14/10/23 and having stayed in several holiday lets we are pleased to say this one is the best, thus far."

David rang us a couple of times during our journey, gave us directions for the last bit and gave us a very warm greeting when we arrived. The cabin is spacious, immaculately presented, very clean and equally comfortable. Everything one needs is there and a nice "welcome pack" is provided along with a homely touch of flowers on the dining table. The grounds are lovely and even has its own mini 9 hole pitch and putt golf course ! The beds are comfortable and we slept well as it is very peaceful. "Visitors" include squirrels, pheasants, bluetits, robins and, if you are lucky - a Muntjac Deer. We only saw him on our very last day. We have only ever returned to a holiday property once before but we were so impressed by The Log Cabin that after arriving on the Saturday we booked up for April 2024 the next day !! Thank you David and Jack for a wonderful week and we look forward to our next stay.

Owners are so welcoming & kind. Also lots of good places to visit , National Trust properties etc. If you want to eat out there are a great variety of cafes, restaurants. Ithink it would be nice to have some softer lighting / side lights in the sitting room. The central lights are a bit bright. Also we cooked in a lot it would be useful to have a bigger freezer section in a fridge. These last two things would be an enhancement to a great holiday home.

  • "The log cabin was fab!"

! This might sound daft but everything just WORKED. It meant you weren’t scrabbling around for a manual or some mystery button that turns the hot water on - it was just all ready for you to use. This meant we settled in really quickly and were able to relax. Our daughter wanted to live there forever. Really friendly and helpful welcome from David too. The put put golf was also a fantastic addition to our stay - we just loved it and wouldn’t hesitate to book again!

Thank you David - much appreciated!! Absolutely lovely cabin and had wonderful couple of days there. Were there to spend some quality time with our 92 year old dad and with the lovely weather on one of the days, we decided to spend it at the cabin on the deck in lovely sunshine and playing golf in the beautiful idyllic scenic surroundings. Look forward to going there again sometime.

  • "Our stay at the log cabin was perfect."

It it so clean and well looked after that my husband was convinced we were the first people to ever stay there. The children didn’t want to leave. The surroundings are idyllic and perfectly peaceful and even though it rained for most of the weekend it didn’t ruin our stay. Wildlife watching out of the windows and playing the games left for guests by the owners. Communication was great with a call on the day of arrival and check ins with us while there to make sure all okay. We will absolutely be returning for another stay. Cannot recommend highly enough.

  • "We meant to write in visitors book, but unfortunately didn't."

The property was very clean and well presented. The setting was in quiet countryside, with lots of wildlife to look out for. We had Mallards on the lake and in the evenings three or four Mandarin Ducks flew in. Lots of birds, which included, Blue Tits, Great Tits, Nuthatch, Robin, Blackbird, Buzzard, Chaffinch, Greenfinch, Wood Pigeon, Wren, C/Crows, Rooks etc. We had Cows in the barn behind us, also Squirrels. With Bats being active around dusk. We thought improvements could be made if there was a washing machine or at least a 'Clothes Horse' instead of a Dishwasher.

The owners are very friendly and met us on arrival to show us around, and were available to contact with any queries during our stay. There was a lovely welcome basket on arrival and milk, tea, coffee etc. available to make a drink after a long journey. We didn't have the best weather when we stayed so didn't get to make full use of the outdoor space, but our daughter loved watching the ducks on the pond and running around the putting green. The log cabin was clean, warm and comfortable and had everything needed for a home away from home. Would 100% recommend to anyone thinking of booking.
