The property

Homely cottage situated on a working farm in Withypool, Somerset.

The property offers stunning views of the nearby town of Withypool and it’s perfect for a couple or young family wishing to explore the South West of England.

On entering the property, guests will find a very comfortable king-size bed, as well as a stylish bathroom.

The open plan kitchen/dining area contains breakfast bar seating, along with two sofas which enable the guests to unwind in front of the TV following a busy day visiting the local area.

There’s also a set of French doors which open out to the garden and stunning views of the local area.

Outside of the property there’s plenty for guests to enjoy, with a barbecue along with seating area, so why not top off summer evenings surrounded by green and pleasant land with a burger or two along with your favourite drink?

The garden’s also plenty big enough for man’s best friend to roam around, with a well behaved dog welcome.

Though guests must ensure that the dog is kept on a leash around the farm animals.

Speaking of farm animals, the farm plays host to cows, goats, pigs, sheep, geese and Alpacas, and guests are welcome to explore the 50+ acres of farm land.

Just a six minute walk, is the Royal Oak Inn, which offers good food and drink.

It’s a pub steeped in tradition, with links to the James Bond character M, and where some of the D-Day landings were planned during the Second World War!

With the village of Withypool located within Exmoor National Park, there are plenty of breath-taking walks and cycle paths in the area.

Guests can also enjoy kayaking, paddleboard and rock climbing in the National Park.

Further afield is the town of Barnstaple, while fans of surfing should visit the sandy beach of Woolacoombe, which is just 22 miles away.

With plenty of stunning scenery and activities all within the vicinity of the property, it really is a fabulous location from which to base your holiday in Somerset.

About the location

Exford 3.3 miles; Minehead 14.4 miles.

The village of Withypool has a remote, upland character and is surrounded by open moorland. Most of the village lies on the north side of the river and follows the narrow roads along the valley contours. The traditional buildings are wrapped in lime washed rendered stonewalls with slate roofs, adding to the sense of character. Within Withypool, there are the local general stores/Post Office, and tearooms. There are excellent short and long walks in and around this destination, including the Two Moors Way that passes through the village. One of the most popular walks is a four mile riverside stroll to Tarr Steps, with wonderful scenery. Close by, the picturesque village of Exford is situated in the heart of the Exmoor National Park. In a charming setting by the River Exe, Exford boasts a village green, tea rooms, a shop, Post Office and two traditional inns serving excellent food and drinks.
