  • "The apartment was very well equipped and really well looked after and the view was amazing and we'd definitely consider returning in the future."

The down side was, unfortunately the mattress in the master bedroom was uncomfortable, I felt like I was going to fall out of bed everytime I moved, so I ended up sleeping in the twin room. Also, Dispite the kitchen being well equipped, there was lack of storage for our own items, mainly shopping.

Thank you for taking the time to send in your feedback. The views are amazing and we are so pleased to hear that you enjoyed the apartment. The mattress is fairly new, as we all know, mattresses are a matter of preference, so it may be that it isn't the same as the mattress you are used to in your own home. There is a double cupboard and some shelving for the storing of food items. Aside from these couple of points, we do hope to maybe welcome you back again sometime in the future. Property Owner

  • "Lovely apartment, great location."

Facilities were good except for a couple of niggles - the pillows were hard and lumpy and the duvets were too thick for summer weather, especially in the main bedroom, which has no opening window due to the sliding doors therefore no ventilation, maybe a small fan would be helpful. The kitchen facilities were high standard except for the fridge which was very small and the shelf in the door was broken which further reduced the fridge storage.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed both the apartment and the location. We will check the pillows and replace as necessary. A lighter duvet is provided and is kept in the drawer under the bed. When we are at the property we open the sliding doors in the main bedroom by about 4 inches and leave the bedroom door open to allow air flow and ventilation. There is only limited space available for a fridge. Thank you for making us aware of the broken door shelf, we will take a look and sort a replacement. Property Owner

Thank you for taking the time to send in your feedback. There should be a fan in one of the cupboards, we will check this when we are next at the property. Had you made us aware of any cleanliness issues during your stay, we could have hopefully resolved this at the time. We will check the pillows and replace as necessary. Property Owner

The only downside is the walk into town takes longer than suggested in reviews and is all uphill on the way back just impossible if you have mobility issues like me. However a taxi will drop you by the harbour for £4. One other thing to note, your car won’t be beside the flat the car park is a wee bit further back so you will need to carry your belongings from the car park to the flat. As it says in the description it’s a first floor flat, the stairs are manageable but when you add on the walk from the car park with cases etc it’s quite tough! Well worth it though for the view and the lovely accommodation. We had only one niggle. We couldn’t get into Netflix and contacted the number given to us by Sykes which turned out to be the cleaners number. She had to contact the owner and that took 2 days before she was able to get back to us - and then it was the wrong password but we gave up because we were leaving the next day but it raises the question of how quickly the owner responds if you have a problem

Thank you for taking the time to leave your feedback and we are really pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. We are aware that the issue with the Netflix account has now been fixed. The cleaner referred this to the owner straightaway but it did take a little while to investigate and resolve. The reservations team are always happy to help with any mobility queries you might have prior to booking so please do get in touch when you are planning your next break. Property Owner

!. Slippery walkways when wet!!. Access & exit, only gained through balcony doors ( never had that before ). VERY uncomfortable bed, very little space around bed, have bruises to prove it!!!. Sofas not comfortable. Television much to high on wall. Both I, and my wife, have aching backs, and cricked necks, just watching TV!!!. Had to purchase 2 mugs, as all mugs were degrained inside. For a quiet place, not so quiet, first day, we had, drum & base from cafe, which started at 4pm, went on until 10:30pm. Every morning, we had the noise of a JCB, working, up the hill. The day before leaving, we had a morning car wash event, right below us. To compare this property, to any other, 2 bedroom apartment, we have stayed,( and there’s many), this would come bottom!!!!!!. Regards... Mr Chris Barton.

Many thanks for leaving your feedback. The timber walkways do have a warning sign to advise they can be slippery when wet. Brixham is indeed steep in places and this is a first floor property: we do try to make this clear on the description. Though your access is through a patio door it is locked and secure just like any other entrance. We have slept in the double bed at Bayview shortly before your stay and didn’t feel it was uncomfortable but we will certainly review this again at the end of the season. The bedrooms are cosy rather than spacious but perfect for a rest after a long day out sight-seeing: photos are available on the website. There were 8 mugs at the property: I am sorry you didn’t feel these were suitable. The holiday park nearby does sometime play music in the clubhouse but we haven’t been disturbed by this previously. I am afraid the car-washing event and any JCB activity would be beyond our control. Property Owner

! Arrival instructions confusing and, with regard to the key-safe, difficult. Entry keypad very difficult to read in many different lights. Instructions need to be amended to comply with the keypad for the entry procedure. "Entry" not "open". The key-safe was very difficult to access which may have been through wear-and-tear through multiple use. It took many attempts to actually open despite always using the correct code. In the wind and rain we experienced upon arrival made the lengthy access to the apartment very, very uncomfortable. Another issue discovered upon arrival was to find the incorrect wifi code in the information folder.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your recent stay at Bayview. We've spoken with the owner who has informed us that he has now treated the keysafe at Bayview so that it is no longer difficult to open. We have also updated the instructions for the gate entry and the wifi code, thank you for bringing this to our attention, the owner recently changed WiFi providers and although the new code was on the back of the hub the information folder had not been updated, this has now also been done. We hope that despite the minor points raised you enjoyed your stay at Bayview. Property Owner

  • "Really enjoyed our stay at Bayview."

The tea, coffee biscuits and wine were a nice welcome treat. Generally, the apartment was clean. However, the fridge smelt strongly of fish and needed a couple of good cleans before we felt we could put our food in it. There wasn’t anything to clean or wipe down the surfaces other than dish-washing liquid and it would have been handy to have bleach or a toilet cleaner in the bathroom too. Many of the drinking glasses were dirty, possible from the dish-washer but needed washing before we could use them. In the bathroom, due to the shape of the bath, a small grab rail for getting in and out of the shower would be useful.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback following your recent stay at Bayview. The owner of Bayview has spoken with his housekeeper following your comments, surface spray is now provided for guests, all kitchen items will be thoroughly checked for smears and although they did clean the fridge before your arrival, the short turnaround time was not sufficient to totally eradicate the smell left from previous guest’s food, however we can assure future guests that the fridge is back to its original tip top condition. It has also been noted that a grab rail may be useful in the bathroom and is something the owner will consider to add in the future. Property Owner
