Hale Close Farm Cottages

Situated on the cusp of Honiton, adjoining the East Devon Area of Outstanding Beauty, whilst resting in the Blackdown Hills Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, these cottages overlook the breath-taking Otter Valley with the outstanding vista made famous by the author Daniel Defoe in 1734. Within easy walking distance to the historic market town of Honiton and surrounded by beautiful fields these luxury appointed and eco friendly holiday cottages offer the ultimate in rural retreat for families or large groups wanting to celebrate and relax in style. Set over split levels, each of these cottages is home to a contemporary open-planned living space which Is located on the lower ground floor. This area comes complete with a fully fitted kitchen that has been styled with chic navy units, copper features, attractive quarts worktops and boasts an impressive selection of sleek appliances. If you are feeling a little more adventurous and are looking for an adrenaline fix, then skydiving, outdoor karting at Mansell raceway or motorsport at Wiscombe Hill Climb is the next thing to do on your holiday list. The family friendly Beautiful Days festival at Escot offers a plethora of summer music whilst the famous River Cottage restaurant and events provide sustenance and ideas along with sumptuous local ingredients. The master super-king-size bedroom has a built-in mirrored wardrobe, beautiful and elegant en-suite and a corner balcony where it is a must to sit back and admire the wonderful vista.

The second super-king-size bedroom also benefits from a lovely en-suite and a balcony which give an elevated view over the Blackdown Hills ans down onto the pond allowing you to ponder and marvel at the cruising fish therein.

From the lounge area, walk out onto the private, enclosed patio and enjoy sitting back for a quiet moment whilst enjoying the spectacular views of the rolling hillsides.

Honiton is a delightful market town in East Devon, with plenty to offer visitors. It lies in the valley of the River Otter and is surrounded by rolling Devon hills, green wooded valleys and plenty of scattered farming villages. Honiton has an attractive High Street stretching almost 2 miles, and lined with individually owned shops, pubs and restaurants. Honiton has been famous for lacemaking since the reign of Elizabeth I and still has a few lacemakers in work today - visitors can see some fine examples of antique lace in the town’s Allhallows Museum. Honiton boasts the only public art gallery in East Devon; the Thelma Hulbert Gallery occupies an attractive Grade I listed Victorian house, and has links with the Hayward Gallery, London. Honiton is only a short drive from the dramatic 20 mile stretch of Jurassic Coast, England’s first natural World Heritage Site. Resorts such as Seaton, Budleigh Salterton and Sidmouth are found along this stretch of coastline, and all have much to occupy the visitor. Near to Honiton is the cathedral city of Exeter with plenty of large shops, a wealth of museums, a theatre and fabulous restaurants.
