  • "The property was exceptional and in great location."

It was nice to stay somewhere that is local to places to visit. The hot tub and sauna was well used by all. The house was comfortable and clean. The field out the back of the property was great for the dogs to stretch their legs in the mornings. I would highly recommend this place to anyone .Although the property is close to the road the noise wasn't an issue. If i was to stay in the area again i would certainly use Linhay.

  • "First lots of positives."

Easy parking, very spacious, superbly well equipped for a larger group. Hot tub, sauna, giant chess, pool table, lovely grass paddock, kids play equipment, BBQ and giant chess board. Plenty of outside seating. Secure, super dog safe. Copious hot water and a really nice building. welcome hamper an unexpected bonus. communications with owner very good. Full laundry facilities. Cot, stair gates, airers, mood lighting. Lots going for this location The negatives. The lounge fabric sofas were very stained and the support is gone. Some of the mattresses are in need of replacement and very lumpy. Some Duvets clumped and need regent replacement. Some general maintenance required in kitchen and handrails on stairs.

Thank you for your feedback. We are glad that you enjoyed your holiday and we take all Customer comments very seriously. These are very out of character for the usual feedback that we receive. All the furniture and furnishings are in excellent condition but we are in the process of replacing mattresses and changing from a fabric to a leather sofa. Once again, thanks for your comments Property Owner

  • "Lovely spacious property."

Excellent for dining for a large family holiday, good kitchen facilities, good enclosed gardens, fab hot tub, spacious bedrooms well laid out. Floorboards on landings extremely creaky and noisy, showers took some getting used to to get consistent temperature flow. Great idea to have a games room - pool table too large for the room needed smaller cues to get round the table properly. Sofas in lounge in need of new cushions/springs looking at. We were a family of 6 adults 3 children and a baby and the house was excellent for our stay. Had a great time.

  • "Positives: this is an exceedingly comfortable place to rent, central to a very diverse group of places to visit (the lovely villages of Dunster - with castle -, Lynton/Lynmouth, Kilve Fossil Beach, the steam railway etc."

) and full of things to do you might not have at home (giant chess, hot tub, table tennis, pool table). It was well-equipped, had lots of parking and the owner was friendly and helpful, and the hot tun was serviced daily. Howevers’ the radio and tv in the games room we could not get to work. Negative: the only minus was the road. The A39 is busy and there is no pavement so extreme care has to be taken leaving the property in a car, and leaving on foot, you quite literally take your life in your hands! We would certainly rent a property like this again.

There cottage had plenty of space for us & the fact that each bedroom had an en-suite bathroom was a big reason for booking in the first place. The facilities were very clean and had all the conveniences we needed regarding white goods. The road noise from the busy A39 took some getting used to & we had to be very aware when leaving the property by car. Otherwise we were very happy with our stay at The Linhay.

  • "We stayed at the Linhay at the end of April for a week as our first holiday since restrictions have been relaxed."

The holiday exceeded our expectations! The house itself was well equipped especially the kitchen. We are foodies who love to cook and all the things needed to make amazing meals were there. The welcome basket was also much appreciated! The amenities were also top notch. The pictures do not do the place justice! The games room is roomy and perfect to while away time! The lounge was massive and so comfortable. The hot tub and sauna were both well maintained and we used daily. Someone came to check the hottub twice daily which was much appreciated. Our puppy loved the adjacent field with the small stream that you can use for dog walking. We had several walks and picnics in the second larger field as the views were amazing. One thing that the site pics don't showcase is that you have 2 enclosed garden areas. One to the front and one to the side. One to the front is lawned so perfect for meals outside and kids and dogs to play and the other laid to hard service where the hottub and sauna as well as kids play area and outside table tennis and sitting area are. As we were leaving we were lucky enough to bump into the owner who was so gracious. He gave us a tour of the larger adjacent property with the pool and we will definitely consider it when we book with a larger group. Thank you so much for an amazing holiday! Will definitely be booking again!

All the usual good points such as cleanliness, equipment, comfort and location were there in abundance but Sarah and Marco go the extra mile. The welcome hamper was very generous and useful, they are so friendly and efficient and although they were on site doing maintenance to the other barn they were only obvious to us when we needed them. We had a couple of minor issues which were rectified immediately. The best thing we noticed was the lack of 'dos and don'ts' which was pretty unique. • "The Lindhay provided safe and secure gardens for the children to play outdoors as the latch to open gates was placed at adult height, thus making it difficult for children to press the latch."

The house is really modern and spacious and with 2 families joining the Grandparents, you didn’t feel cramped. There’s a good selection of walks to take from the property, especially if you have a dog. The most enjoyable walk was the 40 minute amble to Watchet Harbour following the railway track Dogs and children loved it! So did the adults. Having a hot tub and sauna so close to the house was another bonus, less shivering, or enduring cold winds, especially when you holiday in the autumn/winter months!. There’s lots to discover in this area, especially Dunster Castle that was operating a timed tour of the “house” during the winter months....something they’ve just introduced. One word of caution, finding the property in the dark, in the winter months (we did November) was challenging as lighting/ highlighting the entrance to The Linhay on the A39 was difficult. Thankfully we arrived at 3pm which allowed us a modicum of era.........I did have to stand in the access to the holiday home with a powerful torch to help late arrivals......especially our family. SatNav only gives the area it’s in, but not the actual location. Perhaps the photo of The Linhay could be updated to give a more accurate representation of the property/location, thus giving new occupants a visual to look-out for. Sarah, the owner is friendly and very helpful, and nothing is too much trouble if something isn’t quite right. In all, a perfect stay at a perfect house in a perfect location.
