  • "The accommodation was very high standard, very clean and all the beds were very comfortable."

The outdoor pool was amazing clean, warm and just the right size for the family. The games room was a bonus having a full size snooker table, pool table, air hockey and table tennis. The farm surroundings and animals were a great bonus, the owners and staff were friendly and always there if you need assistance. We have loved it so much we have already booked for next year.

  • "Absolutely beautiful place to stay, everything you need, perfect place to stay with family or friends, the owner was very helpful, we stayed as a family of eight adults and one dog, the outside area was lovely, personal area, games room was lovely, would definitely return, in the warmer weather it would be perfect, if you got young ones they would love the farm animals, little extras like the fresh eggs and biscuits were very welcome."

  • "Great cottage and facilities."

Just needs a deep clean as a lot of cobwebs and dust on lights, overall it was great, many thanks.

  • "Gorgeous cottage with a cosy lounge and really tasteful Christmas decorations in hallway/lounge."

Friendly owners who brought biscuits and milk on arrival and that answered text messages when we required weighing scales for our NYE dinner party! Can’t fault our stay :)

  • "We had such a wonderful time."

It was absolutely perfect for what we needed. Super well equipped for making Christmas Dinner. The cottage itself is in a really good location. Peaceful but not too far from anything. Vicky was so lovely and had the perfect balance of being warm and welcoming, yet leaving us too it as well. We really hope to be back soon.

  • "We had an amazing stay as a family of 8."

The facilities on site were great and we were able to use the pool every day in early October. We had a nice little welcome pack and fresh eggs in the kitchen on arrival. The beds were super comfy and bedding and towels spotless and great quality. The fridge in the kitchen is on the small side and you could do with a second or larger one in the laundry room. We had a lot of problems with flies in the house - not sure if its because its a working farm or the time of year. It was a pain but we didn't let it spoil our time there. All in all this is a lovely place to stay and the local pub serves great food and is "crawling distance". The only thing missing was a local shop for provisions but it did not detract from our stay. Highly recommend for families and large groups.

  • "Really lovely holiday property."

Well laid out, comfortable and everything provided. The games room is a really high standard. Some lovely touches like leaving milk and treats when we arrived. Brilliant location for exploring. It would be great if the front step could be made disabled friendly as this would have helped my Dad, but I realise it won't help that many people

  • "We had a fantastic week as a family with 5 adults and a 7 year old."

Loved the pool which was warmer than we expected and we swam every day. It's a decent size, clean and safe. We loved it. The location is a tiny bit remote from the beaches but has donkeys, hens and alpacas to see and the donkeys loved an apple in the morning. It was good to have the large utility room with washer and dryer and chest freezer. Perhaps it could do with a larger fridge but it was all fine. Wifi worked well and we all had enough space to chill out on our own or sit outside on the patio. The weather was mostly lovely which helped our only week away in over a year. Thank you Mrs Booth, loved it.

  • "Very helpful hosts."

Pool was lovely and warm and bigger than expected. Dewlish is a quiet and secluded spot with walks from the door, but the local narrow roads are a bit hairy. Local pub is good. We also recommend The Rivers Arms at Cheselbourne, a 30 minute walk away over the fields.

  • "What a wonderful location."

The animals were a constant source of entertainment for the toddlers. The swimming pool is fantastic although could do with a rail next to the steps. The games room a brilliant place if raining. Definitely hope to return.

Very friendly owners and village, excellent facilities, fantastic pool and games room and a well equipped clean cottage. We had a really good holiday and would happily stay again.

  • "What a brilliant staycation!"

Only disappoint was the swimming pool being open but understandable given the circumstances. The cottage was lovely, location great for walking etc. And close enough to drive to the beach. The kids were thoroughly entertained by the farm animals on site and what a great surprise when we got a full tour of the dairy farm

  • "The setting was in a beautiful little village."

We received a very warm welcome from the owner and a lovely welcome gift. The swimming pool was an absolute treat and the house was very clean and well-furnished. The village pub was an added bonus! Although this was a last minute booking Skyes kept us well informed with regular emails

  • "We had an enjoyable stay however there were a couple of things that need improving."

Firstly we had a fly problem in the kitchen, the owners did leave sticky pads and spray but this was not enough however the owner soon rectified this by providing us with an electric fly trap. Secondly there need to be more mirrors in the house and definitely needs a full length mirror. Also the kitchen was very well equipped but needs more basic utensils such as clippers and a spatula and a bigger fridge considering the amount of people that are staying there. Finally I think it would be useful to have a separate gate on each property as it is somewhere that is dog friendly and unfortunately our granddaughter is allergic to dogs and the dog from the other property kept coming into our property. Despite this few issues there were a couple of nice touches from the owners, they provided us with fresh eggs from the chickens nearby and even showed the children around the farm which was a lovely touch.

  • "Churn House is in a good location."

However when the other property is let out, the common areas eg pool/games room become too crowded. In fact on our visit we felt the other property’s guests dominated both these areas. And what we thought was going to be a relaxing holiday turned out less so because of their noise. This was brought to their attention but to no avail. However the owners were helpful - few things had to be repaired.

  • "Facilities and cottage were amazing It was so."

Nice to not have to go and find things to do. One of our party is elderly and disabled and even she managed to get into the games room and have a go at ping-pong! The hosts are very thoughtful Lovely biscuits in the kitchen Soaps in each bathroom very nice indeed.
