  • "Lovely place."

Brilliant location especially December/Christmas time of year. Short walk for swimming at Newtons Cove. Short walk to harbour And seafront/town just a bit further. If I had to be critical two minor things. A four slice toaster would be better and maybe a new bed-frame in master as that one does creak. Mattress was fine and slept well. Did say if I was being critical. We had a great Christmas week and would recommend.

  • "Just spent a week here with my 2 teenage kids."

My 15yr old chose this house from my shortlist!! She chose well, it was perfect for us, nice and clean, had everything we needed, and only a short walk to the harbour/ beach/ town. Really useful having the parking right outside the house too, you don’t always get that in seaside towns. Thank you for a lovely stay

  • "This property was lovely, perfect for our needs as a party of five, very spacious."

It was comfy, great location, close to the harbour and within walking distance to all the local amenities and both a pebble and sandy beach. The house is located in a peaceful area and somewhere I would definitely recommend to others to stay. Two parking spaces was a definite plus. On the downside - the spiral staircase is super close to the door of the first bedroom, it could do with a gate. The water pipes must have air in as they squeaked when hot water was used and also made the kitchen tap dribble. Sadly some of the plates and cutlery needed washing before use.

  • "Lovely home to stay in for our 5 night stay."

Nice to have a few basics provided for cleaning/toilet rolls, and the lovely selection of tea, coffee, biscuits. Comfortable home, a lovely base for visiting the area. Only a few minutes walk to the harbour. Parking space right outside. Would definitely recommend.

  • "Beautiful house, everything there you needed."

No garden but not needed if your out everyday, 2 minute walk to the harbour and town. Spiral staircase could be an issue for the elderly or disabled.

  • "Perfect location (surrounding area was quiet, but only a short walk to harbour and beach)."

Parking for two cars was a bonus as not many properties have that facility on offer. Lots of extra useful equipment etc (ironing board, hairdryer, utensils in the kitchen). All beds were very comfortable and lots of pillows, cushions and blankets. My only negative comment would be the cleanliness of the house, I think the cleaner must of had their eyes closed when cleaning the property!!

  • "Fantastic property but as regular visitors to Weymouth we have noticed the cost of rental has gone through the roof."

It’s a beautiful home in a good location the only downside is there is no garden basically we sat in the car park alongside residents cars. We would recommend this property as everything else was perfect. The decor, furniture and utensils were above normal standard.

  • "The property was clean, well maintained and based on previous reviews exceeded our expectations."

The close proximity to the harbour ( 6 minutes walk) made the location ideal, as did the onsite parking. It is on a housing estate and being a semi-detached , there are neighbours but they didn't cause us any issues at all. The only slight issue we had was the key safe lock, it was difficult to open once the code had been put in. We would definitely book this property again, good value for money especially as we were able to book a 5 night stay rather than the normal 7 nights.

  • "We were apprehensive about our stay having read previous negative comments however the property itself was well equipped and tastefully decorated with a spacious living room, kitchen diner and bathroom, beds were comfortable as were the settees."

The double was smaller than the twin but probably because it had an en suite. The property was ‘reasonably clean’ -previous food splash marks in the kitchen and dusty units and dead spiders in the living room were a shame and much from the broken extractor fan in the main bathroom was on the tiles. Minor little things needed addressing such as every pair of curtains had hooks missing or were hanging off the end of the poles, the blind in the twin room had been previously broken therefore didn’t go fully down and the towels needed replacing. The property is in a housing estate which could put people off but it wasn’t a problem to us had two good parking spaces and within easy walk to the harbour. Sadly our major negative, was the property is a semi detached and the neighbours, of whom there appeared to be many, were washing clothes outside with a washing stone (obviously their culture) after 9pm which was extremely loud and would go on for over an hour. There was alot of noise from within their house late at night (past 11pm) and kept our child awake who was in the adjoining bedroom to their house. Sadly based on this experience (you can’t chose your neighbours!) we would not choose to stay here again which is a shame as it’s value for money and spacious.

  • "1st use washing machine broke."

Office was closed. Took over 20 mins to get through the next day. The following day engineer came out. He couldn’t sort it. My clothes were still inside in dirty water. Dreams offered to collect, wash and dry clothing. I was impressed. The clothes came back in a bag. I called dreams and thanked them. Emptied bag to find clothes still unwashed and damp and smelling. I was very disappointed and annoyed. Their communication was really bad. Electrician finally got the machine working. It took several phone calls to get this sorted. All of which took minimum of 20 minutes to answer. The three green settees were really uncomfortable. No cushions either. Dirt and dust behind settees and dirty tissues behind the radiator. Beds were comfy . Kitchen well equipped. Outside front space untidy and unwelcoming. Considering we couldn’t enter the property until 5 pm I feel the sub agent involved have let Sykes down.

  • "The property itself is in a good location, and was very clean."

The kitchen was well stocked, beds were comfy enough. But unfortunately a major drawback was how terribly uncomfortable the sofas in the living room were . Although they were lovely to look at , you may as well be sitting on the floor! As they were so hard . Especially as this is one of your properties that does not have a garden to relax in , this makes it even more important to have a comfortable and relaxing area to sit in , which unfortunately this fell very short . Another issue we came across was the washer/dryer, which failed to dry anything, even after many attempts. We have been staying with dream cottages properties for 20 plus years , so have seen many different varieties you have to offer. And the Brewery is definitely a well presented house, ensuit was a bonus, but it lacked a major essential which is comfort. Due to this we would not stay here again .

  • "House was decorated with true style everything was spotless."

Obviously due to covid, cushions for more comfort in the living room were missing. Stairs were a bit of a mission to get up and down and two of the ladies hit their hips on it. Location was fantastic 5 stars.

About the location

BREWERS QUAY HARBOUR

Dorchester 8.7 miles; West Lulworth 15.8 miles

Brewers Quay is the old Victorian brewery situated at the heart of the harbour, in Weymouth, Dorset. Much of the grade II listed complex and surrounding brewery buildings date from the late 1800 early 1900’s and many have stones inlaid commemorating their construction year. This area is now a popular destination with many restaurants, café and bars, creating a vibrant culture, where you can relax with a drink and watch the world go by. Tucked away down the harbourside streets, you will find original Tudor harbour buildings, estimated to have been built in 1600 and well worth a visit, with a very interesting history to share. You will also find the Weymouth Museum, with some incredible exhibitions, and the harbour is also home to the lifting bridge, where you can watch the luxury yachts head out to sea, and then walk over the bridge to the town's winding streets of boutique shops and the seafront esplanade and beach. There is more to this seaside town than meets the eye; Brewers Quay is a much-loved holiday destination in Weymouth!
