  • "The Nest is a delightful place which has ample room whilst still feeling cosy."

The hosts have thought of everything which made the stay incredibly enjoyable. There were even sensor lights at foot level to a paid having to turn the lights on during the night! The whole place is decorated to a very high standard and it was exceptionally clean. The hosts were very kind and welcoming and we felt very at home for our weeks stay. There was a farm track running from the cottage where we could walk our dog which was extremely handy. We would love to stay again in the future.

Great shower too. Good base from which to explore Wiltshire and Dorset. The owners are very friendly and the 'bonus' welcome pack was much appreciated.

  • "Beautiful quiet country cottage."

Wonderful stay over the long weekend, cosy and warm, private and peaceful. Lovely modern features. Enclosed garden for the dog, as well as walks right from the front door (hosts left a selection of walking routes printed out to take with you)! Would definitely recommend a stay at ‘The Nest’ - hoping to come back myself later in the year!

  • "The interior of the house is great and as described."

The owners are very nice. The amenities and availability of films, music, access to Netflix makes the evenings at the cottage even more comfortable. However, this house is really next to a road where you can hear every car going by during the day and at night, so unfortunately not a very comfortable sleep ... The patio is quite small and next to garages, so even to enjoy the afternoon sun you are next to the garage and next to a busy road.

We are very sorry your sleep was disturbed during your stay at the Nest on August Bank Holiday weekend. Our local B road has an 18 ton limit and is usually quiet, but that weekend was very busy. Traffic heading for the west country and cutting through to avoid the hold-ups on the A303 at Stonehenge, on top of that a diversion through the village was in place due to roadworks on the A36, which was unfortunate but beyond our control. We have taken your remarks about the patio on board. Property Owner

We were made to feel so welcome by hosts, Sue and Dave . Beautiful walks on the doorstep and so much to do in the immediate area too.

  • "The Nest has to be the most well thought out and designed cottage we have stayed in this summer ( this was number 7)."

It is also soooo well appointed with high quality kitchenware, tv, NAD hifi, dvd and movies and cd’s. Plenty of maps and illustrated walks ensure one will explore the countryside. Sue and Dave were most friendly, engaging and helpful. What a lovely couple. Our personal comfort would be to have a larger double bed or a twin. Other than that we would have no reservations in recommending the Nest to friends and family.

  • "Dave and Sue were great hosts."

There was a welcome pack on arrival, the bread was delicious and great to have with the eggs for our first breakfast in the cottage, a lovely touch. Very comfortable and well equipped cottage. A great area with lots to do. Longleat expensive but a great day out. Stourhead was beautiful and Courts garden very pretty. Stonehenge and Avebury very interesting.

  • "Superb renovated stable, beautifully furnished with everything you might want or need during your stay, in a excellent location."

Owners Dave and Sue are very friendly and approachable if you have any questions, whatever it might be. Very nice touch of various items in the kitchen when you arrive e.g. fresh bread, spreadable butter, milk, tea bags, eggs and fruit. So comfortable that we were sad to leave after our 7 night stay and very much hope to return in the future.

  • "A really high quality barn conversion, well designed and with great attention to detail."

Spacious and comfortable, well equipped kitchen, very comfy bed, great shower, easy parking. Nice little patio area although the weather was a bit mixed so didn't use it much. Wifi works well so you can use it for your mobile phones, although there is a landline extension which you can use for outgoing calls. Owners Sue & Dave are very friendly and helpful. Great base for exploring Salisbury Plain and south Wiltshire, beautiful walking area. Local info and OS maps provided, plus Dave has created some impressive annotated maps of local walks. Plenty of excellent pubs, a good small supermarket and petrol station all within a short drive, plus Warminster easily accessible with Waitrose, Lidl, Morrisons and a good Italian restaurant. Wouldn't hesitate to go back :-)

The delightful Wiltshire market town of Warminster can be found to the south west of Salisbury Plain, at the head of the lush Wylye Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty. Warminster boasts three supermarkets, many restaurants, pubs, coffee shops, several antique shops, a museum, a theatre, a magnificent park with a lake, skatepark, tennis courts and a nature reserve, Smallbrook Meadows can be accessed on foot, starting with just a short stroll. The award-winning Warminster Maltings who still malt barley the traditional way for the beer industry, do occasional tours for visitors and cream teas in Summer. Alternatively, visits to the magnificent cities of Bath and Salisbury, or Stourhead, National Trust and Stonehenge, British Heritage are not to be missed. This lovely area is full of surprises, providing a great base for your excursions.
