  • "House was lovely and very well equipped."

The street could do with being tidier (I know the owner can't do much about that), there is no general waste bin outside the property so everything was to go in 2 small tubs in the yard which is difficult when 7 people are sharing a property. We had to clean when we arrived as it wasn't very clean at all (again not the owners fault) but definitely sykes problem as this is the 2nd time of staying in 1 of there houses and it not been clean considering the amount of money been paid it should be absolutely spotless. The location was good and close to all amenities without been on top of all the hussle and bussle.

  • "A really lovely holiday cottage, clean, comfortable, and well maintained."

The location is quiet and well placed for all the local attractions. Our only point for improvement would be the courtyard, which could be lovely with a seating area as it’s a real sun trap.

  • "Picardy cottage is a lovely house close to all amenities; the shops and restaurants and the beach."

It’s also convenient for public transport. The house has all the home comforts required for a great stay. A couple of things that would make it better would be bath mats and a hairdryer. Other than that it is a well equipped house. The beds are good quality and very comfortable. The biggest problem is the PARKING! It is VERY expensive to park in Weymouth. Parking is the same price in both the short or long stay car parks. We knew it was going to be expensive but it is £15/day! The train station car park, just a five minute walk is just £7.40/day. However, parking permits should be provided by the cottage to be able to park in the streets near the cottage. Please apply to the council for the parking permits! Other than this very expensive parking problem! It was a great cottage of a high standard.

  • "The only thing I would add is that it would be nice if you could provide a fan for each of the bedrooms as it would help in the extreme heat."

Otherwise we had an excellent stay. Sadly we left my son’s new skateboard but hopefully we can get this back. Thank you

The property

Positioned in the heart of the popular seaside resort of Weymouth rests this remarkable whitewashed holiday home, Picardy Cottage.

Set across three floors and enjoying close proximity to the glorious golden sands of Weymouth Beach, Picardy Cottage is the perfect base for a family or group of friends looking to explore the delights of the sought-after region of Dorset.

Dust off your sandy toes as you step over the threshold and enter into the handy hallway space of your new home-from-home, providing a convenient spot to store your bags and beach-going essentials away from the main living areas.

Following a day of adventure, unwind with a steaming cup of tea and a sumptuous seat in front of the television in the sitting room before venturing through to the nearby galley-style kitchen to satisfy your appetite.

Utilise the fantastic range of amenities provided in the well-equipped space to rustle up some tasty treats before gathering together with your loved ones to indulge in the fruits of your labor at the dining table.

When day draws to night, climb the stairs to the first floor where you'll find two well-presented bedrooms, a double and a twin, along with a family bathroom, stylishly adorned with Victorian tiling and fit with both a bath and an overhead shower, giving guests the choice between soaking their tired feet or washing away the day with a quick rinse.

An additional double and twin bedroom can be found on the second floor, and a further bathroom can be found on the ground floor, ideal for larger groups!

Take advantage of your central location and take the short stroll from your doorstep into the centre of Weymouth where you'll be spoilt for choice with the variety of amenities on offer; indulge in the catch of the day with a view of the clear blue waters at the Rockfish Weymouth, refuel following a day of excursions with a bite of traditional pub grub at The Black Dog, or a spot of afternoon tea at The Good Life Cafe.

Come face-to-face with a variety of fascinating sea creatures at the SEA LIFE Centre Weymouth, explore the labyrinth tunnels hidden deep below the Victorian ruins of Nothe Fort, test your luck at the arcades at Alexandra Gardens, or watch the world go by as the boats dock at Weymouth Harbour.

Pack your bucket and spade and head to the golden sands of Weymouth Beach, where you can paddle the shores of the bay or spend lazy days soaking up the sun's rays, or if that's not your thing, embark on a two-footed adventure along the South West Coast Path, where you can discover the hidden delights of Bowleaze Cove and Tyneham Cap.

For a unique experience, take a scenic car journey to Abbotsbury Swannery, a former 11th-century monastery that plays home to over 600 mute swans, or lose yourself amongst the vibrant magnolias and camellia blooms at Abbotsbury Subtropical Gardens.

However you plan to spend your time visiting Dorset, be sure to choose Picardy Cottage as a base that you'll be delighted to return to.
