“Beautiful cottage, very well presented and stunning location.”

The view from the living room is a huge selling point and we enjoyed the steam train going past. The rooms in the cottage are really generous sizes, neat and clean. Owner's information was very helpful. Would happily book again.

The property

Based in Morar, near the quaint fishing port of Mallaig in the Scottish Highlands is this secluded retreat, Taigh Na Talia.

Enjoying an elevated position with stunning views over the Isles of Rùm and Eigg, this single storey cottage is perfect for families or couples looking for a peaceful getaway, with the breathtaking landscapes of the Scottish Highlands at your doorstep.

Step into the spacious hallway where you can leave your coats and boots before heading further inside.

On your left sits a welcoming open-plan living room with the alluring open fire to greet you, as well as a flat-screen TV and two sofas to relax upon.

The kitchen is appointed with all you could need for a week-long break, and a table setup for four is pleasant for mealtimes.

The first bedroom includes a double bed with tidy furnishings and a stunning view to wake up to, whilst the second features a twin arrangement which is ideal for children.

Situated just a few hundred yards from the cottage is the West Highland Railway Line, famously seen in the Harry Potter movies.

The absolutely breathtaking white sandy beaches of Morar are out of this world, and are a mere 1.5 miles away from Taigh Na Talia, so you can pack a picnic (or kayak) for views of crystal clear water competing with the Caribbean.

Camusdarach Beach is also close by, just 3 miles away, where you can enjoy the stunning sights of the Silver Sands of Morar as part of your visit.

Just a short walk away, in the village of Morar, is the Morar Hotel which serves food and boasts stunning views from the terrace.

Just North of Morar, Mallaig is a fascinating place where visitors can soak up the atmosphere of a working fishing port but at the same time enjoy its remote location, and also hop on a ferry to Armadale and the Isles of Rùm, Eigg, Skye.

The village of Arisaig is less than 6 miles away, where activities such as kayaking, archery and wildlife boat trips can be found.

Outdoor lovers will enjoy exploring the idyllic coastline, lakes and walking country which surrounds the property.

For that well-deserved break away from hectic everyday life, treat yourself to a stay at Taigh Na Talia.
