  • "This holiday cottage is decorated to a high standard and the owners were very helpful."

It's ideally situated for exploring the beautiful countryside and is not far from the lovely town of Abergavenny. If anything would of made it better for us, a bigger TV in the lounge would have been nice, especially for those wet days. I know, because of COVID-19, everything is taken out of the cottage but it would of been helpful to have some information regarding which bag recycled what, etc. Maybe a laminated sheet of info, that could be wiped clean, would be good idea to pop in all cottages.

The kitchen and bathroom in particular were such high spec. The decor was tasteful and the bedding had a touch of luxury. It had everything we needed. We had taken our own rubber broom and had the dogs groomed specially as they are long haired but we needn't have done as we found cleaning equipment which ha e is peace of mind. Instructions regarding recycling were clear. WIFI was strong. The courtyard garden was ample for our small dogs. We had a peaceful, relaxing and refreshing break.

  • "This little get-away lodge is perfect for anyone looking for a laid back peaceful break away."

Also it's perfect for someone with mobility issues. Although, we didn't use the wheelchair inside the lodge, there was plenty of space to manouvre if you had to use a wheelchair. However, assistance will be required for the walk in shower unit. I am sure the host would provide a seat for the shower if requested. The only inconvenience was the lack of a wardrobe for hanging clothes. "Space verses furniture". There were adequate hanging hooks behind the door but much nicer to have your clothes hidden from sight. Anyway, this was just an annoying gripe as everything else made a simple 3 star accommodation gain 5 stars from us. Spotlessly clean, can not fault housekeeping and I can be a real fuss pot when it comes to a shiny sink and clean loo. Even our four legged Jack Russel guest, Meggymoo, was impressed with the cookies welcome pack... So, we can all safely say, that this little get-away gem of a lodge has been saved so we can call upon it's services again in the future.

On arrival there was milk left in the fridge and a packet of cookies. Also there was a good folder with lots of information about the area and maps of local walks which Ruby and I did in the first few days of our holiday. The Lodge itself was beyond my expectations and had everything that I needed for my stay. I met the owners who were really nice and helpful.

The Lodge is very well equipped and surprisingly spacious with a lovely shower. We have two elderly retrievers who were also made welcome and enjoyed walks in the nearby field whilst there were no livestock using it. There is a small enclosed garden to the Lodge as well which is dog friendly. There are many castles nearby and all welcome dogs on leads so we had a lovely week exploring.

  • "We loved this property."

It was perfect for our dogs and a perfect location for us to get out and do lots of walks. My dog doesn't like fireworks so we always go up to Wales bonfire night week where it is a lot quieter and less stressful for him. We were excited to find this property which was perfect. We looked to book again for 2019 however the owners have significantly hiked up the price that week by at least £80 making it more expensive than the larger more lush property they have on site which our friends stayed in. I find this very greedy therefore out of principle we will not go back here again. I have booked a property in Brecon for 2019. Very disappointed in the owners!
