We had a lovely few days in cottage 3 very spacious & clean & ideal location for walks & will definitely think about staying again the pictures don’t do it any justice
"The cottage was clean and had every thing we needed, The location is really nice, with good walks, pub with in walking distance, and a lovely cafe up the road, all are dog friendly, only down side it doesn't have its own garden and only a shower and not a bath, but I did know this when I booked."
I do think that the owners could leave a small bottle of milk in the fridge just to start you off.
"We attended the Keswick Christian convention and had a wonderful week."
Although we loved the cottage and its position there are some things I can point out. I didnt find the lighting good enough for reading in an evening. I wasnt warm enough in the bedding - spare blankets? The toilet we think was leaking round the bottom. The parking for 3 was difficult to get out of/into. Apart from that all fine!
"Cottage very good, very clean and comfortable."
Parking sometimes a bit tricky. Shower quite small my husband had trouble getting in and out, but apart from that we had a very enjoyable stay.
"Great little cottage, really enjoyed our stay."
"Love the Mews Cottages, stayed in No."
2 last year and no.3 this year. Both cosy and comfortable. Would recommend to others and will return in the future definitely.
"Really great position for exploring the lakes, had everything you would need for a holiday."
Comfortable and clean.
"This was the second time I stayed with you."
The situation was ideal for walking which was my main interest. The cottage was very comfortable in every way. The only negative point, is the lack of outside space, but this was not a problem for me but could be for a family. I will be back! David
"Clean comfortable and well equipped cottage."
Good variety of walks from the door. Keswick good shops and very dog friendly. Unfortunately we had to cut short our stay due to noisy neighbors in the adjoining cottage who had the TV on very loud until 1am , and after 3 nights of very little sleep we decided to leave. The owner has been made aware of this and was very apologetic. My husband did actually speak to the people next door as we were packing up and he wasn’t aware the TV was loud he was asleep
"Lovely cottage, owners were very welcoming and friendly."
Was really good to have a smart TV, and brilliant WIFI for the kids. Will definitely return.
"A fantastic stay!"
A lovely little cottage with nice open plan living space which has been tastefully decorated. The kitchen is modern and the bed is incredibly comfortable. Great location for lots of walks and Wainwright's, also close to Keswick if needed. We loved Braithwaite!
"Clean and comfortable and everything worked."
The wifi was good. Location was excellent. The house instructions were limited eg. no leaving instructions, no heating instructions.
"3 piece suite old and saggy, not comfortable at all."
No grab rail in shower and floor slippery. Pity the whole place was not like the bedroom and kitchen.
"We had a great time, lovely cottage in a beautiful village."
The cottage had every kitchen item we could have needed and the kids loved sleeping in bunk beds. Thank you!
"We were really comfortable in the cottage which had all the amenities we needed."

Outside there is a communal yard with seating for you to sit out and soak up a warm summer's afternoon with a drink, and there is plenty of parking for several cars. Braithwaite is a very desirable village, with three good pubs, one which has been runner up for several years for CAMRAs prestigious pub of the year award, along with a village shop serving freshly baked bread and other produce. From the village are many fell walks, including the Coledale Round, offering an awe-inspiring trail through a classic u-shaped valley with stunning views and not a walk to be taken lightly. The Whinlatter Visitors Centre is close by and is great for children, with a tea room hosting a balcony for viewing red squirrels and woodland birds, an outdoor play area, mountain bike trail and several paths to explore around the forest. Venture across to Keswick for numerous shops and restaurants, as well as a visit to the Derwent Pencil Museum, Keswick Museum and Art Gallery and the famous Theatre by the Lake. There is also miniature golf, excellent parks, a climbing wall, and opportunities for fishing and mountain biking, whilst the beautiful lake of Derwentwater at the head of the Borrowdale Valley is not to be missed or is the Castlerigg Stone Corcle, thought to be 5000 years old. With so much to see and do in the surrounding area, bring your loved ones along to share a memorable break in Cumbria.
