"Excellent apartment right in the middle of the village with all facilities within easy strolling distance."
Less able visitors need to be aware that the seven steps up to the apartment are quite steep and that there are a couple of small steps within it. Have marked down cleanliness a little only because steps, blinds and windowsills had obviously not been done for ages but the important areas - bathroom, kitchen etc - were spotless. One suggestion: instructions say 'parking permit can be obtained from our Windermere Office' but fail to say that it is not marked 'Sykes' on the outside but is a desk within Lakes Cottage Holidays - I spent ages looking for it. The parking permit is really useful as it is valid in all South Lakes District Council car parks. Having said that we never used the car; the bus station is only one minute walk from the apartment so we went to Keswick, Coniston, Windermere/Bowness etc by bus - wonderful!

"L'al Tethera is a lovely apartment - all the facilities you need in a perfect location to access all that ambleside has to offer - whether you want to walk/cycle or just wander around the town."
It was a slight challenge to find at first - wouldnt recommend arriving in the dark!
You can hear some noise from the above/adjacent apartment - it wasn't a problem but as a light sleeper I was awoken by next doors snores! Would definitely recommend and will definitely return - one of my favourite holidays!

"The apartment is lovely as we have stayed here previously we knew what to expect in terms of location and facilities."
However, I was disappointed with the cleanliness of the apartment in particular under the current covid conditions where cleanliness is imperative, I would have expected the apartment to have been "Deep cleaned". Upon first entering the apartment it looked clean , you could see that it had clean bedding, it had been vacuumed and it was tidy. However, some of the plates and cutlery were dirty, the towels and bath mat did not look clean, the fridge had not been cleaned out (there were crumbs on the shelves), when you looked closely at the cupboard fronts there were finger marks and the work top had been cleaned down thoroughly. Also, the bathroom ,in particular the shower looked as it if had not seen any cleaner for some time. I ended up cleaning the whole bathroom and kitchen area myself as well as going round the apartment and wiping all touch point areas with anti bacterial wipes to clean any germs away that were not visible.
Halfway through the holiday the heating packed in, but as the fire worked and we had hot water we managed . We did not raise any of these issues until the day we returned home when we told the staff in the Sykes office in Windermere as we just wanted to get on and enjoy our holiday - which we did.

The bed was very comfortable and the whole apartment was very clean and welcoming. It would have been nice to have a parking space in the close but that didn’t detract from our experience at all as the free parking permit at multiple car parks more than makes up for it!

"Great centrally located apartment in Ambleside."
Perfect for couples wanting to get away with home comforts. Although during this COVID period very difficult to maintain social distance in Ambleside or Windermere town centre's at times on the narrow pavements with oncoming traffic.
Apartment floor plan layout different from what you may be used to (bathroom situated opposite end to bedroom , having to walk through living and kitchen area to get to it). Everything you need was in the kitchen for a self catering holiday.
Downside is due to the location of the property just being off the main road, you need earplugs or headphones to sleep, as it gets noisy from the traffic and/or residents living above. Sleep mask was also handy as there are no blackout curtains or blinds in the bedroom.
The car parking permit was a welcome addition, with a short 1 minute drive to the nearest car park up the road. Just a pain to collect/drop off the parking permit from a busy Windermere town centre office on the way to/from the property. Would have been better if the permit was left in the apartment.
Unfortunately the towel radiator in the bathroom doesn't work so had to hang towels elsewhere in the property to dry.

Shower is very hot which is great after a day of walking. The only negative is the cleanliness wasn't great - very dusty (enough to set off my partner's asthma) and bathroom blinds very mouldy.

"Lovely well equipped and comfortable apartment."
Ideal location for everything in Ambleside.
No parking at property and extremely difficult to reverse up the driveway to unload. Car parks close by though, when you can get a space.
It would have been helpful if the office was open to collect keys on a Sunday, we had difficulty opening the key box and had to return on Monday to get the parking pass.
All in all though a lovely few days.

The unloading point is tricky but OK once you find it. Or you could park down on the road and carry your luggage up.
Slight misunderstanding regarding check out time but easily resolved with no issues.
Would definitely stay here again.

"Everything was excellent, Really enjoyed my stay."
Check-in information was clear except for where to park the car. it states "move the car to the car park as soon as possibile" but it doesn't say where the nearest car park is.
We ran out of toilet paper (were only given 1 roll for 4 days) and rang the number written on the key chain but couldn't manage to get in touch with anybody.

"First of all the instructions to get to the property were very misleading."
The instruction should be on arriving in the one way system at the Churchill inn start left hand indicator followed by full hazard warning lights and then reverse up the drive way hill. I guess you don't tell this honest instruction as people would be put off but it is a simple manover.
Cleaning non existent on kitchen blinds or Windows behind.
Heating Customers appear not to be in control and as with all other appliances no instructions to refer to.
Location could not be better.
Equipment to a good standard.
Comfort also good but the bed was a bit hard but this is compared with our own.
Would not book again as we don't ever return to the same rental again.
We would recommend this rental for position and ease of parking out of main season.
Sykes agent very accommodating and helpful also to be recomended

"The staff at your Windermere office were welcoming and gave us good advice re access to the property."
The parking permit that covered more than just the nearest car park was a brilliant idea.
The dessert list at Lucy's on a Plate is well worth a look - I planned my meal around which dessert I was going to have, it's closer than expected to the apartment.
We would happily stay there again or find something a bit bigger so I can take my Mum & Step-Dad as well
