"An absolute gem of a place."
Space for everyone with their own bathrooms. The complimentary toiletries were a lovely touch. 2nd ground floor living area a plus. The balcony furniture was comfortable and the views amazing. We had fantastic weather all week and made full use of the balcony. Garden was mature and well maintained. Bonus to have parking for 3 cars. Decorated to a high spec and felt like a real home. Everything we needed in the kitchen. Perfect location for a stroll to shops, restaurants and harbour. Both 1st floor bedrooms had black out blinds but the ground floor didn’t. Any plans to put them in? It was clean enough for us but some areas needed attention. Blind in family bathroom very dusty and toilet brush holder dirty. Quite a lot of cobwebs all over the house. The oven needs attention too. The cleaners probably don’t have a lot of time between lets but it could do with a deep clean. It really isn’t a complaint but if I owned it I’d want to know to get on top of it. We had a fabulous stay in your beautiful house. Thank you Heather :)

"Beautiful views and a lovely very well equiped house ."
However the house next door was being totally renovated and a new balcony was being fitted. So we had noise from eight in the morning through to late afternoon,our car was blocked in by the three trucks ,so we were unable to get out,so spent all our time at the house or walked down Boness. Real pity as it was a lovely warm and sunny week and such a lovely house with superb views.
Thank you for taking the time review our property. We are so glad that you enjoyed the house and made the most of the balcony in the sun enjoying the views. We do have parking in front of the property which should remain clear but unfortunately in this instance the parking was inconsiderate. We have been in touch with our neighbour and he is doing as much as he can to minimize the effects of his balcony work ( not a total renovation) on our guests. We hope that you were aware that we do have two parking spaces to the right of our property which face immediately onto the road so it would be impossible to be blocked in if your car had been parked there. "Great stay at Mere view in the perfect position in the heart of Bowness just a 5 minute walk to the shops from the front door."
Parking for 4 cars and the house over 3 floors with 3 good size bedrooms on the first 2 floors and on the 3rd floor the wow factor with large lounge and kitchen and a big wrap around balcony with stunning views of the lake and forest will definitely be booking again next year.

The wraparound balcony and beautiful views are a highlight, we would definitely think about this property on our next trip to Bowness. A welcome small detail over new year included a welcome pack. All in all, very comfortable and well thought through.

"An absolutely stunning house with fabulous views of Lake Windermere and the mountains from the third-story lounge and balcony."
The house was very well equipped and furnished to a very high standard. We dined in every night to take advantage of evening vista. There was plenty of off street car parking with the lake and amenities being a short 5 minute walk away. We enjoyed the beer and lovely atmosphere of the Hole Int Wall pub. We would deffinately stay again.

"A fantastic holiday home."
Literally just a couple of minutes walk to the heart of bustling Bowness but when you’re in the house it feels as if you are miles away from habitation. The views from the main living area are fantastic and it lifted my heart every morning. Very comfortable beds as well. The only possible drawback is that, because of all the glass in the living area that gives access to the wonderful views, that room does get very warm when the sun is shining. If you don’t want to use your car, from Bowness you can go to many places by boat or bus. I would definitely recommend this home to anyone wanting a holiday in this area.

"One of the best properties that we have stayed in."
The kitchen was fully equipped, and the bedrooms were roomy and comfortable. The balcony was one one of the biggest we have seen, and we often all sat outside when it wasn't raining. Being so high up, from the balcony we could watch the jets flying past at almost the same level as us.

The wrap around balcony is amazing as is the pamaramic views from the top floor. Everywhere is beautifully decorated and we loved all the beautiful art works and accessories. Tasteful, comfortable and beautiful. Everything has been thought of to make for an amazing stay. There is plenty of information provided of bowness and the surrounding area. We all would definitely come back and recommend. It was amazing and a big thank you.

The steps down to the car parking area where very slippy. Not an issue but more of a concern.

More than adequate space throughout the house and parking for 2 cars. The location is perfect to walk into Bowness to get groceries, food and see the location attractions. Highly recommended, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and will hopefully be back some time in the future.

Mere View is an upside-down penthouse sitting in the idyllic town of Bowness-on-Windermere, Cumbria.

The whole of the top floor is given over to appreciating the wonderful Lakeland vistas with cleverly separated sitting, dining and kitchen areas.
Mere View’s ground floor is home to a spacious bedroom with super king size bed which can be made up as two 3’ single beds if requested when booking.
Patio doors lead from here into a pretty garden area with small patio and garden furniture.
The room also comes with en-suite shower room.
Guests can also enjoy relaxing in the ground floor TV room, perhaps while doing the laundry in the nearby utility area.

The vibrant twin towns of Bowness and Windermere hold enduring appeal for visitors to the Lake District National Park, with each providing a range of nearby attractions, amenities, cinema, shops and restaurants to suit all tastes. A variety of boat trips and boat hire are available from Windermere Lake Cruises in Bowness to Brockhole, Ambleside and Lakeside (at the southern end of the lake where the Lakeside Aquarium and the Lakeside and Haverthwaite Railway are situated). The World of Beatrix Potter Attraction and the Old Laundry Theatre are 1.5 miles away. Orrest Head, where Alfred Wainwright was inspired to write his series of iconic guidebooks, is a 30-minute walk to enjoy the spectacular panorama of far-reaching views over the lake and surrounding fells.
