  • "We had a lovely stay at Station Road."

It was a great location for exploring the area and the station was a bonus. We really liked the cottage but felt the space was too tight in the sitting room to accommodate 7 adults comfortable. This was the same with the dinning area. The lights in the bedroom next to the bathroom did not work and there seemed to be a bedside cupboard missing. Kitchen cupboards were not as clean as we would expect. Cobwebs between fridge and cupboard. Baking trays & toast rack would have been useful. These comments seem " picky" but we are used to exceptional standards at other Sykes cottages we have stayed in.

Thank you for your comments, i am glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage but a little confused regarding the space. The photographs on the website are an accurate reflection of the space provided and in no way attempt to mislead any guest planning to stay with us. You say that the space is tight for 7 adults, which is concerning as our offer on the website states no more than 6 adults, i will be speaking with Sykes about this to see if occupancy rules have been broken, again the advert states the table is set for 6 and can be extended if required and extra chairs provided. There is no bedside table in one of the double rooms to provide guests with additional space, and had i been notified we would have brought a bulb for the bedside lamp to you. The cupboard may indeed have a couple of marks in them and if so as always i will seek to rectify this, however being in a country setting, the same cannot be done regarding the visiting wildlife which up to now has not caused any problems. May i take this opportunity to wish you many more exceptional stay in other Sykes properties. Property Owner

The cottage was homely & spacious and the games room is a great addition - don’t forget to park your darts. The kitchen was well equipped for cooking and it has a large fridge freezer. As a group of 9 (4 adults/5 children) and 2 small dogs we had a comfortable stay and would happily book again. The welcome hamper was also a lovely touch! Thank you

Thank you for your lovely comments, we strive to make sure that all our guests feel welcome in our cottage, and are delighted that you and your party were comfortable and had everything you needed during your stay. So glad that you and the children enjoyed the games room. We very much look forward to welcoming you again. Property Owner

  • "The house is not suitable for parties of more than 8."

There is a dining room table for 6 people 1 of the chairs are as broken and caused injury to my daughter. 2 sofas and an armchair so seating for 7 there was only 8 plates and items of crockery. A playroom which looked great i the pics was so damp the children’s clothes smelled damp. A dolls house with no furniture or dolls dartboard with no darts air hockey table with no pucks. So it was not useable for the children. The house floors were dirty and the vacuum cleaner was so full we had to empty layers of dirt before using. There was dirt and crumbs and sticky behind toaster and hair balls on the floor when we arrived. There was also nothing to clean with. 2 bin bags and 7 dishwasher tablets left if there are only 8 plates and 10 people in the house you need to do lots of dishwashing.

Puzzled and bewildered by this review, as all before and after are nothing but positive and affirming. Property Owner

  • "Could maybe have done with a bit more cutlery and crockery to save washing up by hand to avoid running short of bits and pieces which had disappeared into the dishwasher."

But don't take that as a complaint as such - just a suggestion. Aside from that, everything was fine, and the welcoming hamper was a pleasant surprise. A beautiful, comfortable house in a lovely location.

So pleased you enjoyed the welcome hamper which we hope was a nice start to your holiday. Thank you for your suggestions, we look forward to welcoming you to our cottage again. Property Owner

  • "The owner Michelle was absolutely lovely!"

We arrived late due to traffic and she took in our food delivery and put it away for us. So when we arrived it was all sorted! There was also a little basket of treats left too which were such a nice thought! House is lovely and definitely well looked after by the owners and you can tell their guests are important to them. Beds were super comfy and the shower really decent. I was worried about parking but they have 2 spaces just across the road in the station you can use so that was really good. We had such a lovely weekend and would defo recommend to anyone.
