Everything we needed for our stay was available including some firewood and a welcome cake ! We really enjoyed exploring Settle and Giggleswick villages and sampling the local pubs. We couldnt have asked for more.

Resting at the south-western edge of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, near the idyllic town of Giggleswick, which adjoins Settle, is Pendle View Luxury Apartment.

Boasting a delicate neutral décor, this ground-floor apartment benefits from a private patio and peaceful surroundings which is perfect for a family or couples break.

Stepping into the cottage, the sitting room invites you in to kick off your shoes and settle in for the evening; home to plush sofas and a Smart TV fit with streaming services and Sky Sports and Cinema, it'll be hard to tear yourself away.

This grand Georgian apartment features high ceilings, which makes the apartment airy and spacious, large original window seats and stunning period fireplaces in each room.

Moving through the property, the kitchen offers all the appliances you need to rustle up a hearty breakfast ahead of a day of exploring, which you can enjoy at the dining table.

When sleep calls, head to the bedroom for some well-earned rest; the super-king-size bedroom also offers a window seat overlooking the picture-perfect garden, and an en-suite shower room so you can freshen up.

Take advantage of the outdoor space in the warmer months; enjoy a morning coffee on the patio, or perhaps take your dinner alfresco using the barbecue, before cosying up in front of the firepit for the evening.

The surrounding areas will leave little to be desired, with traditional country pubs just paces away and plenty of public footpaths from the doorstep of the apartment.

Treat your other half to a meal at Sydney's in the nearby Settle, which offers a stylish yet characterful space and a menu pizza, tapas and traditional mains so there is something for all tastes.

If you cannot wait to get back to the apartment, you can always grab some fish and chips from The Fisherman to enjoy in your home-from-home.

For a spot of history the Museum of North Craven Life is just a short drive away, but if you prefer to discover on foot, take the Ingleborough Estate Nature Trail which has wooded trails leading to the Ingleborough Cave.

Tour the lit caves and be sure to look out for fossils, or make your way slightly further afield to White Scar Cave the UK's longest cave.

Sunny days make for the ideal day to venture out to Stainforth Force, a stunning waterfall where you may also see jumping salmon at the right time of year.

Branching further afield, you can discover the delights of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, or even make your way into the beautiful Lake District town of Kendal.

Pendle View Luxury Apartment is the perfect retreat for a romantic or family break to North Yorkshire.

About the location

Malham 6 miles; Skipton 17 miles; Kendal 25 miles.

The bustling market town of Settle lies at the south west rim of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, nestled beside the largest outcrop of limestone in Britain - a region of scars, cliffs, caves and potholes - amongst some of the most picturesque scenery in North Yorkshire. Tuesday is market day in Settle, when the square is filled with stalls offering a wide variety of crafts and goods. The market place is surrounded by local businesses, the centre being dominated by The Shambles, an historic three storey building with shops on two levels and houses above, and the Town Hall. There is a good selection of restaurants and pubs and a public swimming pool. The Victoria Hall has entertainment and other activities such as folk nights throughout the year. The famous Settle-Carlisle Railway crosses some of the most beautiful and inspiring upland scenery in the country. Natural attractions such as Malham Cove and Gordale Scar are within easy reach, as are the nearby Dales towns of Skipton and Malham. Settle is in the midst of excellent walking country and is a good base for touring the Dales, the Lake District and the Forest of Bowland.
