  • "Really lovely cottage, comfortable, spacious and well equipped."

There was a lovely suprise gift of a tray of goodies which was a really nice touch.

  • "Fabulous well maintained and well equipped cottage - felt very homely."

Fabulous location - walks galore from your doorstep and a pub up the road - and also right near a bus stop. Would definitely return. If you're looking for constructive feedback, the things we would note given the 4 star rating are: 1. Needs a bigger fridge - this is a cottage for 5 people - the fridge wasn't big enough for two of us. 2. Needs a DVD player. 3. Needs more than 3 loo rolls if more than 2 people are staying. 4. Needs a new frying pan. 5. Albeit the thought of a welcome pack was very much appreciated (and unexpected), we're vegan so having dairy milk and non-vegan products left for us wasn't great - just needs more consideration.

  • "This cottage is perfect - location and facilities were excellent with the best welcome pack ever."

We have already looked at booking for next year but are totally appalled by the price increase of about £500 for the same week ! Really? You will sadly upset customers who always holiday in the UK and that is why I will be reluctant to recommend you. So sad and disappointed.

The owners provided a welcome pack. We found the cottage had everything we needed, the boot room was very useful. There is now extra seating in the garden.

The cottage was very clean and well equipped. Lovely showers with lots of hot water. Very comfortable beds. Towels and bed linen provided. Boot room with separate access - very useful for muddy boots and dogs. Garden with bench seating surrounded by countryside. Small tea room nearby. Lots of great walks from the cottage.

  • "A beautiful little cottage in the heart of Borrowdale."

Perfectly located for many walks straight from your door such as Castle Crags and Watendlath. The cottage is very well equipped and comfortable and the boot room is great. Confortable beds and a separate shower room downstairs as well as full bathroom upstairs.Wehad a lovely welcome pack left for us. I would recommend the property without any hesitation.

  • "A really lovely cottage in a small village, the cottage is delightful, recently modernised and fitted out with care and attention."

Very thoughtful welcome pack, even towels left for dog.Road from Keswick needs to be taken with care, burst a tyre on rough stone kerbing avoiding a pothole. Only thing we felt was missing from the cottage was an outside table and chairs, there is only a bench.

  • "Cottage is excellent."

The communication with Lakelovers/Sykes was very poor. Failed to respond to 2 emails and don’t answer the phone. I would always choose another platform before them again.

  • "Booking process was very easy with Sykes."

I forgot to add the bed configuration on the booking so called to give this and the customer service lady couldn't have been more helpful. We had an amazing stay and felt very lucky to have secured 4 nights at a relatively late stage. Loved the welcome gifts. Cottage was very comfortable, beds were lovely (husband wants a new mattress at home now!), all very well equipped. The drying/boot room is an extremely handy space for storage. Great walks straight out of the door, very quiet at night apart from the owls. The garden is pretty dog secure as long as you have a dog that won't jump over an approx 4ft wall, we pulled the garden bench away from the wall so our hound wouldn't even consider it but if you have an escapologist for a dog then it might be a bit more tricky.

  • "Fantastic little cottage, in a stunning location."

Interior and cleanliness to a very high standard. Cottage situation in a quiet village, with local pub in walking distance. Lovely views and walks straightout the front door. A lovely hamper, milk etc already provided on arrival. Cant wait to return.

  • "This cottage is beautiful!"

Equipped with everything you need and decorated with a luxurious touch. The boot room is so useful for all of your walking kit- which is needed as there is so much beautiful walking to be done straight from the door! The welcome hamper was much appreciated and made for a lovely start to a perfect, cosy Christmas in the heart of Lakeland. Thank you!
