"Beautiful country spotless cottage, beautiful welcome from Sue, we were welcomed with a lovely lemon drizzle cake and ginger biscuits, with a cuppa as soon as we arrived, which was fab after a long journey, the cottage was a lovely beautiful view every morning, to look out too, lovely to see the animals , the dogs were adorable, the nights were really quiet, and peaceful, slept well, real comfy bed, lovely cosy evening lighting the log fire, all logs were supplied by Sue, who couldn't have been more helpful , this is a little gem of a place hidden away, romantic for us to have time to ourselves."
Highly recommend this cottage holiday.

"Overall okay ."
A little tired in certain areas but the vistas from the windows certainly made up for this also I would suggest perhaps a word with the cleaner.
-
"We found the cottage very cluttered, adding to hardly any work top space to do anything."
Freezer in high cupboard above cleaning cupboard very bizzare!! Also not very clean: dirty curtains, cobwebs hanging and carpet stains Bathroom very dated & shower off taps (really!!!) We were very lucky with weather so spent a lot of the days away from cottage and eating out.
Oh dear me! So sorry that you found the cottage not to your liking. You said how lovely it was when you arrived. I haven’t ever had such negative comments in 10 years of letting the cottage so it’s come as a great shock. Property Owner

"Rob and I had a really lovely 4 night stay in this cottage."
We were made to feel very, very welcome by Sue and Ken..our stay was very relaxing and peaceful. I would have happily stayed in the cottage every day instead of venturing out as it was so nice. We loved the cake and cookies and the flowers were a beautiful touch, Thankyou. We enjoyed seeing Ella the horse with her beautiful foal George, along with the dogs with their puppies and the duck with her babies too. Thankyou,

"We had a relaxing week at Ashbank Cottage."
Sue, the owner was very helpful and welcoming. The views from the cottage were lovely. We walked every day and the weather was great for the time of year. We tried to catch Sue before we left but no reply when we knocked, although we knew that a clutch of duckling had arrived, a Black lab was about to welp and a horse was in foal, she must have been busy. "Peaceful, comfortable and a great place for a break away from the pressures of life."
The owners, Sue and Ken, are very nearby and make you feel at home during your stay. The view makes this place special too, looking over sloping fields with cattle, ducks, geese and the owners' horses and dogs. Whatever time of year you choose to go, enjoy it. We'll certainly go back even though it was a long drive from London - it is a different world.

-
"Great location & well appointed, lovely welcome pack & Sue (owner) on hand for any items/problems needed."
The view from the mini patio out onto the fields with ducks, geese, mandarin ducks, black swans, the 3 gun dogs and a constant chorus of curlew made this absolutely what I wanted. The highlight for me was going up onto moorland (8 mins away) to sit and watch/photo a barn owl hunting.
-
"A lovely, tranquil cottage in a beautiful setting with splendid views."
We received a lovely welcome and the freshly laid eggs and goodies were a very thoughtful gesture.
-

"The cottage was very comfy and cosy."
The view from the lounge patio/ kitchen windows were amazing the fields had horses dogs sheep ducks and geese. The only negative I can think of is after having a bath there was no hot water until the next morning. Everything else was perfect.
-

"Ashbank Cottage was a very cosy, quiet and comfortable place to stay with a beautiful outlook overlooking fields which contained the owners horses and very friendly dogs who stopped by for a stroke occasionally."
The neighbours were all very friendly and we were made to feel extremely welcome. Ashbank is the perfect place to stay if you are looking for somewhere tranquil. Local convenience shops are a 5 minute drive away.

The area was of the same quality and we really enjoyed everything about this holiday
-
"This cottage is beautiful, fantastic view, very peaceful, looks out over paddocks for dogs, horses, black swans, geese, chickens and lots and lots of birdlife."
A lovely welcome gift was left for us of wine chocolates and fresh eggs which was so nice. Was also nice and warm. The bed was lovely but squeaked alot every time we moved. thats the only one thing wrong. I strongly recommend this cottage. Had a lovely weekend there.
-
"We were left alone by the owners after the initial meet and greet."
My only criticism is they made no effort to speak to us at the end of the holiday which i feel would have been a nice touch.
-
"Although the cottage is situated among a small cluster of cottages some distance from any real village it did not feel remote."
It was quite spacious and had a superb view through patio doors. In the ground below there were a pair of horses and 4 lovely dogs, and a never-ending display of bird life. We found plenty to do in the area, visiting the Pennine mountains, the lovely Forest of Bowland and by train to the north Morecambe Bay. It is close enough to Settle to take the famous train from Settle to Carlisle and at Silverdale, just beyond Carnforth, there is the RSPB Leighton Moss Reserve. We were blessed with superb weather which just added to a very enjoyable holiday. We ourselves are no longer able to do much walking but it would be an excellent base for walkers. There were no shops nearby and the closest pub was one and half miles away in Low Bentham. There was a welcome tray with half a dozen new-laid eggs to greet us. It proved an excellent holiday. Thank you.

"Location was perfect, peaceful, all being well will be returning."

"The cottage was very comfortable and Sue was a great host."
She even left us some free range eggs and some lovely cake. The cottage had everything you could possibly need. There was even free entertainment from the animals in the field outside. We had geese, chickens, horses black swans and 3 beautiful crazy dogs. It was so quiet and peaceful with really dark skies at night, the stars were so easy to see, it was great! We will certainly be returning.
-

"The cottage was gloriously cosy and the owners welcoming - the fire was lit prior to my arrival so the atmosphere was homely and relaxing from the off."
Mince pies and fresh produce were provided which was a lovely extra touch after a cold day outside. Sue and Ken were fantastic hosts, and the property was the perfect place to escape from it all for a week.
