Small town less than 10 mins drive away for anything you need. Went for a meal on the Friday night. And Saturday night ordered a takeaway delivery which was great. The hot tub was just incredible looking out onto the fields. Very spacious for 2 people. Me and my wife had an incredible time and the lodge was perfect for what we needed. Would recommend to anyone.

  • "Highly recommend this property to anyone considering a break to the Lake District."

When we arrived the cabin was warm, cosy and absolutely spotless. The views from the decking were fabulous, and the complimentary bottle of wine was a very nice bonus! Having the hot tub enhanced the experience even more as it was nice to sit back, relax and look at the stars after a long day. The directions to reach the cabin were very clear and absolutely spot on. We were within perfect driving distance to everything we wanted to do including hikes, exploring Windermere and taking in all the beautiful scenery. Ulverston is less than 10 minutes drive away and is such a lovely town. I will absolutely be recommending Ash Lodge to any friends and family who are considering a getaway to the Lake District - I only wish we had stayed longer!

The first at Thimble Cottage this time opting for ash lodge ideal for two & overlooking the hillside good to see the wildlife deer ext. The hot tub ideal bed comfortable well kept and clean lodge . A special thank you to Noel the site manager after a telephone call to him having left a large amount of charity money in a drawer, he found it and returned it to me by registered post the day after and told me to put the cost of postage in the charity box. George & Lynne will be back later in the year.

  • "We absolutely loved our stay in Ash Lodge."

It was remote but close enough to town if we needed anything. The cabin itself was lovely and cosey which was much needed as the weather was awful! Hottub was such a great touch and everything about it was just perfect. The only slight let down for us was the shower. The water pressure was so bad that it was literally a trickle. But that aside everything else was spot on and we would absolutely stay again!

We had a lovely short break, just what the Dr ordered. No negatives from me I was just a bit gutted I didn't pack my hair dryer as thought there would be one, more my poor planning. Thanks for a lovely stay. We would highly recommend it for a relaxing retreat!!

  • "Me and my boyfriend stayed here at the end of November 2021."

We arrived at around 4pm to a warm hot tub, all of the lights on and a complimentary bottle of wine which was a lovely touch. The whole weekend was fantastic, the hot tub is ideal for two people and the lodge itself is spacious, homely and comfortable. The kitchen is well stocked with utensils and cutlery etc ready for you to bring your own food. The directions given were also very helpful, however, when the postcode was typed into Apple maps, it directed us right to the lodge anyway which was great. The lodge/hot tub area is also very private which is nice and there are also lovely views with a very scenic surrounding area. We visited Ulverston which is a short car journey away and lots of parking. Lots of nice places to eat, drink and shop and we even caught the light switch on which was lovely! The only thing I can say is you may need to pack some toilet roll as we were only left one roll and had to buy some, I'm not sure if this was an accident or not! However, that is the only (tiny) negative and all in all the lodge is fabulous and I would definitely return and recommend.

  • "Ash Lodge was absolutely wonderful."

We had a great stay. Best hot tub we've ever had in a holiday let, and we've stayed in a fair few - I like that both users were in a reclined position. We were however bitterly disappointed that we couldn't get in it until 9pm due to waiting for it to heat up. The bed was so comfortable and the bedding was lovely and soft. Only thing I needed and didn't have was a sharp knife, and a couple of hooks for towels/dressing gowns in the bathroom/by the hot tub.

Glad you had a nice stay; the Hot Tub sometimes is not ready due to cleansing and changing the water with such a short window to do this in. Thanks for the surjections we will sort these. Property Owner

Accommodation is beautiful and really cozy. The listing is slightly outdated as the TV in the bedroom no longer exists but wasn’t an issue for us at all. Hot tub got a bit cloudy for our last evening so water maybe needs to be changed earlier. Hot tub was a fab treat though, very impressed and Noel the site manager was on hand to help with any issues we had. Will definitely be back again! We almost weren’t able to leave after the cows blocked the road for our way out but it was okay because we didn’t want to leave either!
