Lovely comfortable beds, had everything we needed for our stay. Great location for the area.

  • "A really fabulous week in High Thearns."

The cottage was immaculately presented, with high-spec furnishings and everything you'd need. Wonderful large kitchen (interesting learning to cook with an Aga!) and large terrace leading off. We recommend the slightly quirky French restaurant in the village (best to book) for an evening meal and Samuel James Deli for breakfast. We visited Barnard Castle (with its Farmers Market the first Saturday of the month) , the Faith Museum and Spanish Gallery at Bishop Auckland, plus a quick visit to Appleby. Didn't plan on doing too much so the cottage was the perfect place for restful days with a book in front of the woodburner. WiFi patchy (only strong for online meetings in the main bedroom). Overall, we'd definitely recommend staying here. A fabulous cottage in a great location. Such helpful owners, too, who sent us details of lots of places to go. We shall return.

  • "Beautiful large bungalow on the edge of the village of Middleton in Teesdale."

Set up slightly so you get good views from the outdoor patio. Huge kitchen/diner, comfortable living room and three very good sized bedrooms. One has an en-suite shower room and there's a large family bathroom with separate shower cubicle too. Nice, private location. Plenty of parking in the grounds. Immaculately clean. Would definitely recommend and will look to book again for next year.

Quality fittings. Lovely little touches and excellent location. Came for 60th birthday and Mrs Teward kindly left bubbly with birthday message in the welcome pack. Only marked down accuracy of listing because chickens were not there to pick eggs which is listed. This was not a problem and Mrs Teward was very apologetic they had been moved. Great stay and would highly recommend. There is a smaller cottage just opened adjacent which looked equally as nice. We would book that one if it was just two of us coming.

Hi Julie, thank you for your lovely feedback, I’m glad you enjoyed your stay. Once again I apologise about not being able to collect your own eggs. Unfortunately we have had to take away this facility due to the bird flu outbreak. It would be lovely to see you again at either one of our cottages. Property Owner

Sally Ann went out of her way to help in any way she could if there were any problems, Our stay there was very enjoyable and there were interesting places to visit both nearby and farther away. However, we were surprised to find that the cottage was behind some other houses as the photograph on the internet gave the impression that it was standing well away from other properties ie nothing in front except perhaps the road. This did not detract from the enjoyment of our holiday as we were not inconveniences by this, especially as the patio outside the kitchen gave us wonderful views over fields and the surrounding hills and countryside. Unfortunately the driveway up to the bungalow was quite difficult to walk on as it was on a slope and on an uneven composition which for anyone with walking difficulties was a bit tricky. Nevertheless. overall our holiday was very enjoyable.

Lambs and hens run around almost under your feet and there are fresh eggs to collect across the field at the back of the house...a great activity for little ones.
