  • "A beautiful cottage in a great location."

Spotlessly clean with everything you need, a real home from home. The welcome bottle of Prosecco was a lovely touch. Close to pubs, shops, cafes and amazing walks. A trip on the Ullswater steamers is such a great day. We will definitely book this cottage again. Wonderful.

  • "Wonderful property, well thought out space and facilities."

Great location. Small niggle is that the garden is all paved or gravel, which we understand is low maintenance, but wouldn't be too friendly to small children's hands and knees - however not an issue for us and we will likely book this property again.

  • "Fantastic bungalow in great, central location."

Recently updated to a very high standard. Children enjoyed the comfortable sofa and large TV! We enjoyed looking at the map on the wall whilst having tea to see where we'd walked and plan the next day's trips. Both front and back gardens lovely and sunny just a shame there's not more greenery. Would definitely return. Lovely touch of wine and chocolate on arrival.

Everything is finished to an extremely high standard. The location is excellent. We had a small problem with the front door key and were fortunate enough to meet the lovely owners who went above and beyond to fix it immediately.(Thank you!) Would have no hesitation in recommding this great property and hope to return in the future.

About the location

POOLEY BRIDGE

Penrith 6 miles.

The picturesque village of Pooley Bridge sits on the northerly edge of Lake Ullswater in the Lake District National Park. The name Pooley came to be due to the forming of a large pool, which was left by the fast flowing River Eamont, and the word Bridge was later added when a bridge, which is now 250 years old, was built over the river. Pooley Bridge has many traditional inns and tempting tea rooms, plus the Ullswater Steamers depart from the village, from where a tranquil cruise down the lake to the villages of Glenridding and Howtown can be enjoyed. There are numerous walks with breathtaking views nearby, plus a short walk up to Dunmallard Hill reveals fascinating Iron-Age remains, whilst the towns of Penrith and Keswick are within driving distance. Pooley Bridge is an ideal base for a cottage holiday stay in the stunning Lake District.
