The small estate where the cottage is situated is very quiet and peaceful, plus it is literally a five minute walk to the very well stocked local shop and pub which is opposite the shop. We have stayed at many holiday cottages in the UK over the years this is up there with the very best. Well done Emily, you’re doing everything right!!

Although it is in a courtyard setting with several other properties it was very quiet and peaceful. The complimentary toiletries and the welcome pack including a bottle of Prosecco were a lovely extra touch. Location was good - there’s a handy local shop and pub within walking distance and it’s not far to the coast at Grange over Sands or up to Lake Windermere. Would definitely recommend.

Comfy beds and crisp linen. Exceptionally equipped. Nice touches especially the Prosecco as a welcome gift. The dog loved it although it was a challenge to keep her off the comfy sofa haha. She is tiny and used to snuggling with us. She soon settled. The dog box of tricks was a fantastic addition. Only 1 tiny thing was that we couldn't find any glasses etc as they were all in the dishwasher. However it was reassuring that they were all spotless for our stay. The area is beautiful and the local pub (The Engine) was welcoming however I would not recommend eating there, our meals were not nice at all. Travel out for food...we would happily stay again. Thank you

I initially thought the place must be new to the holiday market with maybe a couple of reviews but it isn’t. And you know what? Every 5* review is thoroughly deserved. The property and everything in it is just perfect. The owners are quite rightly particular about cleanliness. The beds and furniture are all very comfortable. The heating was set to come on three times a day and even in mid-November the house was comfortably warm. I thoroughly enjoyed my week here with my daughter and did some exploring of the southern Lakes, much of which is within easy reach from Cark where, close to the house, you’ll find a convenience shop, a pub and a restaurant. I have no hesitation at all in also rewarding with a full 5* rating.

It was ideally situated for easy access to both Lakes and coast so you had the best of both worlds. If you are taking your dog everything was thought of, they left dog bowls, blankets and towels should we need, a little jar of biscuits which my dog was very grateful for, as well as biscuits a fantastic tea and coffee selection and a bottle in the fridge for us grown ups. My only one little negative, which I didn't bring up with the owner as didn't effect us but may do if you are a family of 4, is that the hot water was a little sparse, the heating though was perfect. Thank you for a fantastic stay.
