The property

This first-class cottage is situated in the picturesque village of Stainforth, within the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

Formerly the Old Stainforth Post Office, the property is steeped in history, being situated on land which was once the old river crossing, used for centuries when people travelled via horseback from York to Lancaster.

The property has been expertly renovated to provide luxury accommodation, exuding style and character throughout and tastefully showcasing original features such as beams and the traditional internal stone work.

Set over two floors, this cottage offers four bedrooms including a super king-size double master bedroom, a king-size double, a double and a ground floor king-size room, offering flexible sleeping accommodation, ideal for families or a group of friends looking to sample the many attractions of this magnificent area.

There's also two bathrooms, comprising a first floor family bathroom with a waterfall shower and a ground floor additional shower room, making the property suitable for the less mobile.

Downstairs you will be met with a fabulous sitting room featuring a woodburning stove and a well-equipped kitchen diner.

Your stay in the Dales is one with the utmost comfort and style.

Outside the beautiful garden backs on to the river, providing the perfect space to sit out, catching the sun all day and a fire pit is provided for the evening BBQ.

The icing on the cake is found in the hydrotherapy massage hot tub.

New for summer 2019 and located just next to the river, it is perfect for relaxing with a luxurious soak and letting lifes troubles drift away.

Situated in the centre of the charming Dales village of Stainforth, Bridge End Cottage is in an enviable position with an excellent family Pub on the opposite side of bridge and a superb cafe within a five minutes walk.

A short 5 minute drive also brings you to the market town of Settle offering fantastic shops, pubs and restaurants.

Stunning countryside can be enjoyed from the doorstep with the stunning Stainforth Foss and Catrigg Force found within a ten minutes walk as well as the Pennine Bridleway close by.

For the more adventurous the famous Yorkshire Dales' Three Peaks are not to be missed and most set off points can be found within fifteen minutes’ drive.

About the location

STAINFORTH

Settle 2.5 miles; Giggleswick 2.5 miles.

Stainforth is a charming village with a thriving community life in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park. Stone-built traditional cottages, narrow lanes, the village church and the quaint old pub all go together to make this one of the prettiest villages in the shire of Ribblesdale. Nearby are the famous Stainforth Foss and the medieval Packhorse Bridge, beloved by Sir Edward Elgar. The village is about three miles from Settle, a bustling market town with excellent shopping facilities, a good selection of restaurants and a thriving market day, when the square is filled with stalls offering a wide range of goods. The Settle-Carlisle Railway, the most scenic in England features the occasional steam train, and the run across the Ribblehead viaduct with its twenty-four arches is an experience not to be missed. An excellent area for walkers with the Three Peaks nearby, and a good base for touring the Dales, while the Lake District can be reached in less than an hour.
