.so quiet and yet close to the village shops and bars etc. We found it very clean and comfortable and well equipped as well as tastefully decorated. An issue with the heating which occurred due to the cooler weather for June and my elderly mum being cold was resolved very quickly by the Sykes team and the owner so very pleased.

Only criticism would be Sink in en-suite is too small and not accessible with cabinet directly above .Would book again as a 2 ,Bed Property but not as a 1 Bed .

  • "Beautiful cottage, spotless, well equiped, ell situated."

But as three over eighty year olds the two levels of fifteen stairs two carry our cases up, and using them a couple of times a day was a bit daunting. We were disappointed there wasn't the welcome pack as mentioned in your discription. But we would recommend your cottage for younger people. Thank you

  • "Lovely property and convenient for all amenities."

We rarely used the car which we often do when staying more out in the sticks. Would recommend the bus service, especially the 599 (I think it was) to Grasmere. You can hop on and hop off at various stops including Ambleside. The Burritos restaurant / takeaway is really nice and only a few doors down. Would also recommend the Magic Wok. Only gripe was the main double bed was uncomfortable and we used the other bedroom but still loved the holiday and accommodation.

Ideally situated for visiting not just Windermere but other local areas too. Plenty of eating and drinking places very close by. Could not fault this brilliant property and if in the area again would look at booking it again.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Mrs Tiggywinkles."

Location is excellent, just off the Main Street but set back in a court, so you get the benefits of being really central without the traffic noise. Property was clean and well set up with everything we needed for a short stay, including a hairdryer - this wasn’t listed on the information about the property so we weren’t sure whether to pack one or not, would be helpful to detail that it is available to help people like us who were travelling by train and trying to pack light. Provision of OS maps and walking route info was helpful (although it wasn’t the weather for us to use them).

  • "Lovely cottage with everything needed for a comfortable stay."

Very close to a great pub, supermarkets etc. Good base to use for visiting Ambleside, Keswick, Kendal etc. On site parking provided which was essential and welcome. I would highly recommend Mrs Tiggywinkles. Will be returning for another visit.

  • "The directions should be updated."

“Cinderella Me” is now “Lakeland Retreats” and Morrison’s is now Sainsbury’s. I drove around the one way system 3 or 4 times before I spotted the entrance to College Court! The accommodation itself was lovely - comfortable and clean, well equipped and excellent location. Maybe not suitable for young families due to the internal staircases and cream sofas! The provision of only one parking space could be an issue for some guests because the only option was to park on the street and there are parking restrictions between 9am and 6pm. I had a friend stay for one night. She moved her car into one of the empty spaces in college court for 5-10 minutes to unload and immediately one of the permanent residents came out to tell her she couldn’t park there. The same happened when she did the same to pack the car. Also, it might be useful for guests to be aware that if you wish to eat out in Windermere, you will need to book well in advance! I tried to make reservations a week before our trip at the beginning of September and was told by more than one that they were fully booked until mid-October. Takeaway was difficult too, with two Chinese restaurants closed.

  • "Had a great holiday at Mrs Tiggywinkles."

++ Location in Windermere is perfect as it's in the center of the village but set back from the street so it's quiet and has lovely views of the hills. Parking space is allocated which is great to have in busy Windermere though access would be difficult for big cars. Facilities are great. -- Upstairs bathroom has a very small sink and limited space. Curtains in main room are quite light and thin, not great for people like us who want a dark room for sleeping in. Sofa in the lounge could do with replacing as it felt itchy

  • "Great holiday let perfectly functional."

My daughters complained that the beds are hard. Considered sleeping on setee. I slept in one bed and very uncomfortable and very hard. Recommend changing them. Directions mention ‘Cinderella Me’ they are no longer in operation now a holiday letting place, so missed the turning. Great access to all amenities without being on the main road. Visitor’s be aware of narrow access if you have a large vehicle ie: 4x4 Would come back again loved Windermere

  • "We had a lovely holiday, overall I think Mrs Tiggiewinkles was a very acceptable cottage but possibly slightly over priced, having said that I would definitely recommend it."

The parking was a little awkward but it was off road and private so again it was acceptable and to be fair we would certainly consider booking again. Windermere is a wonderful area to holiday in and we would also recommend anyone to holiday here as a staycation, obviously everything has been difficult with covid but an enjoyable holiday can still be had, we will certainly be holidaying in the Lakes again in the future.

So good to have a parking space right in the centre of Windermere. Just a note the car park is a very sharp left after the shop you will probably miss it first time! The internet connection was a bit temperamental... The owner of the property came to make sure everything was ok on the Saturday night which I thought was very kind of her....
