"The property could be amazing, looking at the pictures on the Sykes website we were really excited about the long weekend stay for a special family get together."
The lodge is in need of an exterior clean up and refresh, peeling paint and cobwebs over doors and windows. Once inside the lodge its large and modern interior was let down by stained carpets and blinds. The biggest let down was not having water for the first few hours of every morning, this has been previously brought up on other reviews, I got told this was due to water works in the area, however you are not warned or given bottled water. Overall an ok stay which could have been much better with a focus to detail and customer experience.
Hi Darren, thanks for taking the time to provide feedback. I'm sorry the experience wasn't up to expected levels. Regarding the lodge maintenance, we are currently working around a busy lettings schedule to make those improvements, while also ensuring our standards of cleanliness are at the same level as our other lodges. As new occupiers, we're doing our best to do this quickly without bringing too much disruption to guests and in recognition of this, have made significant reductions in the pricing while those improvements take place. As you can appreciate the water issue is beyond our control and we're not the only lodge affected by some of the changes happening in the park. We relayed your comments to Parkdean and this was their response: "We are aware that the water pressure on park has become an alarmingly prevalent within our accommodations. Just so you are aware, we currently, we are working with an external company to identify and address the source of the low water pressure. At the beginning of the year, Parkdean invested in the site because we were aware of the need to address this issue". I'm glad you can see the potential in our lodge and as picked up in the other reviews it is a fantastic space and place from which to enjoy the Lake District. We'll reach out directly to offer you a discount on a future stay. Property Owner

"Lovely place."
Location great both for Winderemere and in the park it was a peaceful spot. An issue was Low water pressure in the mornings. The Wifi was hit and miss. To be expected as we were in the country not an issue. We did not use the resort facilities other than the onsite shop which was great to have. Lovely to be by the Marina. A lovely short break thank you
Thanks for your kind review Kate. I'm sorry about the issues you faced with the water pressure, we are told these were to do with refilling of hot tubs and the pressures have now been adjusted accordingly. The park is aware of the WIFI in that part of the park and we're working together to find a more reliable solution. Glad you enjoyed the lodge and your break overall and hope to see you again. "The Interior of the lodge was beautiful."
It was spacious, light and beautifully decorated. There were plenty of kitchen utensils and plenty of additional bedding. The lodge was lovely and warm and the ‘log burner’ was a lovely touch. Plenty of board games have been made available for wet / rest days. I thought that due to the trees and position of the lodge it may have been a little dark inside, but it was lovely and light (think the light interior helped) and we saw lots of wildlife- foxes, woodpeckers and owls. Further improvements would be to the exterior of the cabin, including the patio area needing a little touching up / repainting / cleaning due to foliage and weather. If possible, a toilet roll could be made available for when you arrive! However, the overall stay was fantastic. A beautiful lodge (as reflected in the photographs) A fantastic find which I would highly recommend.
Thanks very much for your very positive review. As new occupiers we are still working to ensure all details are managed including checks on toilet rolls and also a starter pack in the kitchen for arriving guests. We also have some planned improvements to the exterior when booking gaps allow. We really appreciate the positive review and hope to see you again in the future. Gary Property Owner

"The overall campus was really nice with good facilities and a great location between Ambleside and Windermere."
The cabin itself was nice but unfortunately wasn't very clean. Dog hairs and stains were found everywhere and when we made people aware of this, we were passed from one department to another and told to contact the owner directly evern though we weren't provided with any contact details. Happy to take your money but not interested in helping once you have a problem. Fantastic location but just very disappointed with the service we received.
Thank you for your feedback We are sorry that you didn't find the cleanliness of the lodge up to your standard. We have investigated this and it looks like you contacted us via a no-reply email address so the email that you sent didn't came through to us. If you contacted us through the phone numbers given in your key collection details, we would have sent somebody out to investigate and rectify the issues to the best of our ability. "Nice and big so ideal for a large family."
Loved that it had a bath as I prefer baths to showers. Brilliant if you have pets that you take as they can’t escape it’s secure. Could do with nicer bedding in the master bedroom but apart from that it’s a nice home away from home. The caravan park needs some attention as you have to pay for swimming the roads are terrible as our car hit loads of pot holes and the trees/bushes all need a good cut
Hi Michelle, thanks for your positive review about the lodge. Regarding the park we do make clear that facilities such as swimming are a separate arrangement with the park, and guests who book through Lake District Lodge Holidays have complimentary access to Choices spa and pool nearby. Regarding the roads leading to the lodge we will pass on your feedback and ask guests to take care until repaired. Thanks again for taking the time to feed back to us. Gary Property Owner

"We had a very enjoyable stay at this lodge, even with 6 adults & 2 dogs we found the accommodation very comfortable & well maintained."
The kitchen was well stocked with utensils & the heating was more than adequate as we stayed when the evenings were close to freezing! The location is excellent & we will certainly be coming back again!
Thanks so much for your kind review Adam! It really means alot to know that we helped to contribute to an enjoyable break for your group. Hopefully we'll see you again soon. Property Owner
