Beds are very comfortable and the whole place is very clean and smart. We visited Lincoln, definitely worth a visit, and several NT properties. Would definitely stay again.

  • "We had a lovely week."

Cottage was excellent - the kitchen was well equipped, bed super comfortable and the whole house had everything we needed. We didn't see the owners but they were only next door if we'd needed anything. The only slight negative thing was that I thought the fridge was a little small for 4 people. The steps between the lounge/kitchen are a bit uneven, although that is mentioned in the listing. It was well located for Lincoln (we went twice) to see the Guildhall tour, castle and cathedral. Also visited Belvoir Castle, Burghley House and several National Trust houses. Also the IBCC, Newark and Lincs aviation Centres. It is very rural, though next to the A46, so you would need a car but I would definitely recommend and go back if we wanted to visit that area again. Also, the butchers in Collingham is excellent too.

  • "We had a lovely stay at Dovecote Field House Farm."

It was easy to find and plenty of places to go without travelling too far. The kitchen is well equipped if you decide to cook, we did twice during our stay. The oven was about 10° lower in heat than the one I have at home but all worked well and plenty of utensils stored in the cupboards and drawers. Comfortable beds, plenty of hot water and fluffy towels. All very clean tidy and cosy. We visited; Lincoln Cathedral - absolutely awesome! Belton House - very lovely with very nice grounds. Gainsborough Old Hall - fabulous tudor house well worth a visit very interesting. Southwell Workhouse - impressive lots of information and very well worth a visit.

It has been well thought out with some really nice thoughtful touches, it is Clean, the kitchen is well equipt and had everything we needed, and the beds were so comfortable! it is perfectly situated to enjoy the surrounding area. We visited the Air Museum, Hardwick Hall and the Workhouse all within easy reach and were good days out.

Everything we could think of needing (and more) was available and included in a very clean and modern space. Very welcoming hosts who responded quickly to our questions before arrival. Particular thanks for being so accommodating to our 2 year old who loved seeing the tractor at work almost as much as his grandad did! We hope to be back soon

  • "Really lovely accommodation, well thought out in a pretty location."

Hard natural slate floor in kitchen/dining area is gorgeous, however if any of the party staying have any balance issues it is worth noting that this floor is uneven by design. We have suggested that a higher 2nd bracket for the hand shower attachment in the upstairs bath be provided to enable adults to shower upstairs, especially useful if there are 4 adults occupying the cottage. The owners are lovely and very helpful. Would absolutely recommend this cottage. We had a fabulous time there. Two couples meeting for a weeks holiday.

  • "An excellent cottage."

A lovely old building from the outside, inside it's very attractive too. Its spacious, modern, comfortable and well-equipped, everything was in top condition and spotlessly clean, with well thought out detail, for example, ample good quality towels of different sizes for each person and plenty of power points in handy places. The owners were very considerate and helpful.

The kitchen was really well equipped and the cottage was clean and in great condition, very cosy. As another recent review has noted - the kitchen now has a dishwasher, so this could be added to the information about the cottage. It's a great location - only a short drive from all amenities in Newark, and we also went to a lovely pub in Norton Disney on the Saturday night (booked taxi), only 10 minutes' drive away. Would definitely stay there again.

  • "Lovely clean property in a quiet location."

It felt homely and relaxing each time we arrived back from a trip out. A good base for seeing the area and travelling around. A new RSPB reserve (and many others) almost on the doorstep and pubs, takeways and a small co-op supermarket in Collingham, (the next village) made shopping for food easy. Train station there creates direct easy access to Lincoln and even Nottingham. Small outside seating area made a nice sun-trap to sit out and eat/drink.
