"A very clean, comfortable bungalow ideally situated for exploring Lincolnshire."
Excellent nearby pub.
-
"Wonderful place to stay would love to stay again"
-
"We had a fantastic stay at waverley cottage."
It was large and spacious enough room for 6 adults comfortably. Beds and furniture comfortable with everything you need in the kitchen. Lovely village with a pub 50 yards away serving delicious food.
-
"Exactly as advertised, most enjoyable"
-
"The house was lovely and clean and well looked after with comfortable beds and furniture."
-

Quiet and very relaxing and everything that You need in the cottage.

"This was our fourth visit to the property and have already booked for next year."
It is nicely placed and very welcoming, near to many places to visit for all the he family age groups.
-
"Lovely property."
An outside dining table would be a welcome addition.
-
"What a lovely bungalow, I don’t think the photographs really do it justice."
We’ve stayed in many bungalows through Sykes and I don’t think I’ve ever had such a choice of glasses for my evening drink. The kitchen itself was very well equipped and there was a handy little tray containing tea, coffee, sugar and milk which was very welcome after our journey. The settees and beds were very comfortable. The bungalow is in a very quiet location and we had a lovely restful holiday.
-
"Heating stuck on at set temperature to hot during the night, message not to change the settings."
Fair enough but way too warm. Lovely house clean and comfortable.
-
"Great property."
Had everything we wanted. Wouldnt hestitate to recommend at all. Lovely furnishings, clean and great location to viost Skegness and Mablethorpe from. Few niggles, the ensuite toilet constantly runs. On a wet rainy night it's fine as you can't hear it but considering the property is in the middle of nowhere, with the silent nights the constant dripping water is very distracting. It's been mentioned by previous occupiers also though. The property directions could be better written. Second right turn before telephone box and also would have been useful knowing the key safe is actually at the back of the house. Would have saved me a lot of time in the dark looking around with my phone trying to find a box at front of house. Otherwise the property is great for a staycation. Definitely recommend it.
-
"Great property."
Lovely and clean with everything you need. Would definitely stay again.
-
"It was a lovely, clean property."
The property has carpets so wheelchair users would struggle, but it was disabled friendly in every other way, it could use some grab rails in the bathroom, especially over the bath. The on-suite toilet sounded like it was constantly flushing, which was odd, but it didn’t spoil the holiday. All-in-all it was a great place and we are looking to go again later this year or early next year.
-
"Waverley is spacious, clean and well appointed."
Perfect for our group of 6 adults. It was a great location for our reunion with family and friends, in a quiet village with country walks from the property. We enjoyed visits to Lincoln, Louth, Skegness, Woodhall Spa, Tattershall Castle (NT) and Alford. We had excellent meals at The Blacksmiths Arms just two minutes walk away from the bungalow and at the Railway Tavern in Aby. Lunch at the Woolpack pub in Louth was excellent too. We hope to return again in the future.

"A fantastic accommodation, very comfortable and in a peaceful location."
-
"We very much enjoyed our stay at Waverley."
It was spotlessly clean. Could not fault in anyway.
-
"We had a lovely stay at the Waverley."
It had lots of home comforts to make for a relaxing venue. The location is fantastic too, a nice quiet village with a fab pub. Would recommend and will be back.
-
"A wonderful place, it had everything we needed for a comfortable and warm stay."
The owners were available if we needed anything and were very helpful and welcoming.
-
"Lovely property, well situated."
We wanted for northing. Had a very relaxing week. Can't recommend this enough. Will definitely return.
-
"The drive into the property is very steep which you can't see in the photos."
I found it hard to walk up and down with out help, which I had so it was manageable. The local pub just 50 yards away was excellent, cosy friendly and wonderful food at a reasonable price. We all really enjoyed our visit to this super bungalow and area.
-
"Paul and myself had a wonderful time here."
it was all as said online. it was a beautiful property lovely and clean and beds were so comfy. i loved having my own bathroom. i feel the cold so easy but i was lovely and warm. every thing we needed was there. the best place we have ever rented and we would love to return. please thank the owners for us.
-
"The bungalow is excellent and suited the three single ladies who lunched out every day."
If a family were to stay there it might be different since we had a few problems with the cooker - mainly as there was no written instructions and the on line manual gave the instruction that the oven would not work unless the timer had been reset! If all plug sockets are turned off to save energy this would mean that the timer has to be set every day. As the heating did not come on as expected the plumber was to be called reset the timer for the radiators settings. Overall these things did not dampen our stay and Kate, the owner, was brilliant in her response to our requests.
-
"Property was beautifully laid out, extremely clean and had everything you could need."
We all had a great time enjoying everything Waverley and the surrounding area had to offer including tea at the local pub across the road. The quiet and ambience of the cottage was perfect as was the star gazing. Will definitely be booking to go back next year.
-
"Very comfortable and enjoyable stay."
Everything we needed was there. Thoroughly recommend the Blacksmiths Arms for food.
-
"Beautiful bungalow in a peaceful location."
Spacious with open plan living dining and kitchen area. A very much needed ceiling fan. Comfortable beds, tastefully decorated. Information on the local area. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay in this property.
-
"A very clean and well presented Bungalow with everything you need."
Would highly recommend this to anyone.
-
"Lovely bungalow."
Only small points but mattresses need changing - not comfortable especially in the on suite room - lots of springs can be felt. Outside area which is huge but sitting out area very poor. Too small to eat outside. Table unstable and very small. In a very quiet village. Owners manual needs a good update. Most of local info is out of date and now not accurate.

"This is the 3rd year that we have rented this accommodation so obviously we like the property and the surroundings."
We bring some of our family with us and the grandchildren love it. We have actually forward booked for next already, we have seen and spoken to the owner several times and would like to say she is a very pleasant lady.
-
"Overall we had a wonderful time, loved the location and the property had everything we needed for the week, plenty of space for us all (family of 6)."
Our children loved the garden and the walks in the local area. The property was spotless clean on arrival and everything provided was in working order. The pub across the road was also nice, with a good range of beers for a village pub and the food was delicious with generous food portions. We would definitely go back to however, the mattress in the master bedroom has seen better days and was very uncomfortable (spring mattress) which didn’t make for a good nights sleep. Overall we had fantastic week away but myself and wife didn’t sleep well. Great location, great property, well-kept and clean. Couldn’t have asked for anymore. But maybe a new mattress?
The mattress has been replaced Property Owner

"Lovely, comfortable, warm cottage with conservatory style back room."
Situated in the quiet village of Skendlby, in a great position for the coastline visits with the grandchildren. We really enjoyed our half term stay. The Grandchildren also loved the cottage, with nice walks in the area. Cottage had everything we needed. The local pub, Blacksmiths Arms, the food was really nice, although a bit pricey. I think we would stay again at a later date.
-
"Very nice bungalow outside a small county town."
Stayed a week and found it well equipped. Disappointing was the heating system. Seems not to be set correctly. The pleasant owner sent out plumber?, but that made no difference at all! Change your plumber! Suggestions- shower mat for en-suite. I’m disabled and shower floor dangerous without a mat. Needs to replace the backing trays and large frying pan. We all had a good stay but I would not return, more so as the drive to sharp a slope to get my VW SV down without hitting the undercarriage, maybe filling in the potholes at curb would help. Thanks for a enjoyable week.

"Lovely bungalow in a lovely village Very comfortable and has all are needs 10 out of 10 thank you"
-
"Beautiful peaceful bungalow in a fabulous village location."
Just lovely
-
"This is a top class property, one of the best we have stayed in."
The owners were very friendly and helpful. Highly recommended.
-
"Waverley is an extremely comfortable bungalow with everything you could wantn, we would definitely recommend it as a base for the Lincolnshire Wolds."

Hosts were helpful and friendly. Lovely local pub

"Lovely clean cottage."
Perfect array of amenities. No expense spared.

"Generally the property was clean and tidy and everything seemed o."
K but when my husband used the family bathroom the toilet seat was loose and cracked then he found a note on it that looked as though it had been there some time saying toilet seat dodgy one on its way.On the Saturday morning we had no heat and no hot water. As sykes cottages were closed I rang the other phone number provided and the lady who answered said she would ring the plumber who came and said he was waiting for a part and it was the pressure that was the problem .all went well until tues when the same thing happened again the plumber came and basicly said that he had to leave it at a very low temperature and it would come on and off during the day and night. This it did about 6 times in 24 hrs by Thurs we had had enough of being cold and decided to go home
-
"Bungalow was high quality just need to fix toilet set"
-
"Absolutely brilliant."
I went with family yo celerbrate my daughters 40th birthday. Never stayed at a cottage before, always chalets or lodges. We would all recommend Waverley. If we are in the position to afford it again there will be no hesitation. So clean, so much room, which helped with myself and my Husband on crutches, so comfortable, beds especially. Even with my Husband on oxygen and getting B O C to deliver and collect was great. Owners were good, did not get their names, were there when we had a problem with cooker and left us alone to enjoy our stay. Local pub was great too, they got my drink in for me for our stay. Hopefully not too long before we return. Thank you for a lovely holiday.
-
"Well equipped property providing all that was needed for a lovely stay."
Owner particularly helpful with advice on local pubs and taxis. Delightful location with pub serving great meals a five minute walk away and public footpath/bridleway walks straight from the door. An excellent property in a delightful location. Plenty of off-road parking for three cars
-
"Fantastic cottage and fully equipped was a lovely stay and spacious for a family, very clean and nice quiet location."
-
"Beautiful quiet cottage in peaceful village but perfect for coast & country."
Plenty of discrete instructions as & when needed. We even survived the 40° temperatures - thankfully we brought our own fan!
-
"We really enjoyed it (for the second time) we have met the owner who is very nice and accommodating."
The accommodation itself kandis very good and we have already booked for next year (will be our 3rd) visit.
-
"Waverley is a very spacious bungalow in a very quiet village."
Everything was clean and the beds were comfy. The kitchen had everything you could need apart from a small sharp knife and some steak knifes. In the main bathroom the toilet seat was broken and so was the cord on the blind. A hand rail in the showers would have been useful as my 90yr old mum is very unsteady on her legs so struggled a bit. None of these spoilt our holiday. We had a lovely stay thank you.
-
"Lovely cottage in a beautiful area."
very spacious cottage, well equipt other than a small sharp knife. would return, some lovely scenery and lots of places to visit, especially the wolds wildlife park. cottage very private with nice patio area and lots of birds, would of liked a bird table. only complaint would be new matress needed in on- suite bedroom.
-
"Lovely location, house was perfect for us and we already tried to book again but it was already fully booked."
Maybe another time.
-
"Couldn’t fault it Everting u needed and more was supplied in the property Cleanliness was top notch"
-
"We had a lovely week staying at the Waverley."
The bungalow was very clean, comfortable and very well appointed. The owner (who lives next door) was very pleasant and ensured that we had everything we needed. We have no hesitation in recommending this property.
-
"Lovely location with local information on walks and places to visit."
A good selection of age-range books games and puzzles in the little entrance hall by the ‘front door’. Well equipped with very modern fittings. We visited East Kirby aircraft Museum, the Coastal Maritime Centre and the Ark Animal Centre and have had numerous trips to the beach. The bungalow has been very comfortable despite some initial setbacks. We hope these following comments will assist other users - all our issues were dealt with promptly. There are insufficient instructions on how to use cooker - we had to Google it before we realised the clock had to be at the right time of day for the ovens to function and instructions for adjusting the timing for the heating. On our arrival there were insufficient bath towels and a complete set were dirty, so we had to wash them. (No laundry powder or dishwasher tabs are supplied). Dishwasher door was very stiff when we first started to use it and to make it work we had to wedge a chair against its door to close it fully so that the seal would engage and the programme start. It has worked well since then. We found the floor cleaning was only areas visible. As we had our granddaughter with us, we frequently had to retrieve small toys from under the settees in the lounge area or toy box in the front vestibule - furniture had obviously not been moved to vacuum. We understand an agency come in to clean. We slept in the room with the en-suite. The double bed is a standard double with a spring-mattress which is very ‘noisy’ when getting into bed - suspect it needs replacing. We would book again if coming to this beautiful area.
-
"A very comfortable bungalow with all we needed for a good holiday."
We were really pleased with it's location as its central for visiting the coast and other towns yet quiet and peaceful. The owner was very welcoming. Our only complaint was that the holiday went too quickly. Further stays at waverley are a must.
-
"This property should really be 5 star."
Exactly as advertised. clean and comfortable. Possibly looks like an old style bungalow on outside, but inside is totally different- bang up to date and extremely well fitted. No complaints.
-
"This is a lovely holiday bungalow in a very peaceful area."
I would have given it 5 stars but in our opinion (4 adults), the beds/mattresses need updating to ensure a good night's sleep. None of us slept well. If it wasn't for the beds, we would book every year. Booking with Sykes was very good
-
"This was an extremely comfortable property with all the creature comforts we needed."
Ideally located for the coast and the nearby towns. Woodthorpe Garden Centre has a spectacular Christmas display and the Alford market, other independent shops and Craft Centre provided some quirky shopping opportunities. Abundant food/drink options in surrounding area. Think a return visit is highly likely.
-
"Bungalow was in a very quiet position in the village."
There is one pub which serves great food (you can't be in a hurry though). The nearest shops/supermarket are 10 minutes drive away. Going to book again for next year. Communication from Sykes very good. Apparently the owner of the bungalow lives next door but we didn't see him/her which we weren't bothered about.
-
"Could do with Shower Chair for the elderly ."
(fortunately we took one with us )
-
"The bungalow was even more than we expected it was very clean was very well equipped ."
Had everything to make our stay very comfortable.Ideally situated with plenty of attractions close by
-
"Waverly is a beautiful bungalow which we enjoyed staying in last week."
It is nicely furnished with what looked like new sofas and comfortable beds. The bathrooms are modern and bright, and the third w.c. was very useful. The kitchen is also very modern and well equipped. The whole place is light and airy and we could happily live there - except that Skendleby is a bit quiet !
-
"Well appointed accommodation in a good location for walking and sightseeing."
-
"Cleanliness could of been better on arrival, dirty toilet, cobwebs in all rooms & dirt on floor."
Broken items in property like toilet seat, toilet brush, toilet roll stand & hover. Cottage was nice overall, great base for days out.
-
"Great location and we had fabulous weather."
It has a lovely garden. Just slightly let down with less than expected cleanliness levels inside the cottage.
-
"A very peaceful place in a lovely little village."
Easy access to get around the local area, not too far to get to the coast or vist NT properties. Arrived in rain, left in rain but beautiful weather inbetween. (Maybe some tongs would be a good idea
-
"No major issues"
-
"Liked it so much we have already rebooked for next year."

"The approach to the cottage is very vague."
Our sat nav took us to a cemetery, nowhere near the property. This needs urgent attention to help your future customers, driving aimlessly around an unfamiliar area. We also had problems with the main shower, and kitchen sink working incorrectly. The owner seemed totally unaware of these problems, within her property. Very strange seeing that the next customers thru the door, can only arrive after 4pm. Seeing that you have to vacate before 10am, that leaves 6 hours, to clean and check property, before we arrived. My further opinion is that it is crying out for a hot tub. There is more than enough private garden space available to site one. Especially for people with mobility issues, not able to walk and explore the Lincs Wolds. I wouldnt think we would re-book. SORRY KATHRYN. G

"Spotlessly clean and very comfortable cottage."
Very peaceful surroundings which is just what we wanted. Excellent break. Highly recommend.
-
"Waverley is an excellent holiday accommodation."
It's super clean, very well maintained and peaceful. The location is good too. You are in a quiet village but not remote, being able to access the main roads within a couple of minutes. Highly recommended.
-
"Very good house and accommodation."
Took us a while to work out the 'smart' equipment. Could have done with a DVD player. Good positive comments
