Despite being in adjoining property to the hosts, we had complete privacy. Perfect location for hiking and biking.

  • "We loved this property."

From the day we arrived when there was a warm friendly welcome and a plate of welshcakes waiting for us to the day we left, we had a wonderful time. The bungalow has all the facilities you need and there is nothing lacking. It is in a fabulous location, convenient for access to the main roads but so peaceful and quiet with stunning scenery to admire. We spent many an evening sitting on the garden bench with a drink in hand admiring the mountain view in front of us. We both agreed it was one on the best self catering accommodation experiences we have had and should we find ourselves back in this area again, would have no hesitation in staying there again. We would thoroughly recommend this as a great place to stay.

  • "We arrived in the dark after a long drive, so was amazed to wake up in the morning and realise the beautiful area we was in."

Fantastic if you want to get away and have some calm from everyday life. The photos of the cottage don't reflect the scenery of the mountains and trees surrounding the cottage. The cottage itself was very cosy and felt like a 2nd home, plenty of space for two people. Hosts are very welcoming and called us to make sure we was on the right route as the sat navs sometimes don't lead you the right way. Home made Welsh cakes for our arrival was lovely also. Being the winter period, a lot of the trains that trail around the mountains and other seasonal things to do wasn't open. But we still did a lot on our five day stay exploring the beach, waterfalls, cosy towns for shopping and so much more. We will be back in the near future! *This was our first time to Wales and booking through Skye cottages* Paris & Dean

Even so, Dolgellau is nearby with shops and modest supermarkets. The flat/annexe is spacious and well-equipped for two and it is ideally positioned to reach the coast or mountains easily. The owners are next door, quietly busy on the farm and unobtrusively helpful. The owners were extremely welcoming and friendly. The views from the lounge were wonderful and if you walked up the track from the cottage you are awarded even more stunning vistas across mountains. A great base for exploring North Wales with fast easy road access to Snowdonia. Everything about the cottage was perfect although mobile reception is limited to outside front of the cottage. Saying that, the owners were more than willing to take messages on their home phone in an emergency. Our car broke down on the Thursday evening and they were wonderful in providing assistance even to the point of driving us with all our belongings down to the village hall and waiting with us for the breakdown service to arrive and tow us all the way back to Kent.
