  • "The lodge was not clean, very tired looking, the main bed room was very shabby carpet's need a good clean, bed mattress not fit for purpose there were two mattress on the bed one on top of each other , the duvet was ripped , kitchen oven was filthy not been cleaned in years, patio door was sticking and unable to open or close properly , blinds on the doors had broken slates , sofa and soft furnishings are worn , dirty and unconfutable, lodge advertised shop on site along with a restaurant that were both closed we did not stay the week we booked and left 24 hours after arriving, in my opinion this lodge needs a lot of money spending on it to bring it up modern standards before renting out to holiday makers and change the cleaning company they use, because their not doing the job."

  • "The lodge was a mini home from home with all you need with towels and bedding plus a good size lounge."

Yes some minor snagging which is the process of being rectified and didn't spoil our stay. The only complaint was from the grandchildren that the WiFi was poor which meant they had to find an alternative to entertain. The clubhouse was pleasent although limited. Thank you for letting us use your home.

The location of the lodge was great , but I fail to see the turnaround time for the cleaners they say it’s because of COVID and the extra cleaning needed if it was that the place had looked like it had the extra cleaning I would have no problem but it wasn’t BATHROOM around the taps in the were black the nonslip mat in the shower was disgusting the rim around the shower cubicle needed cleaning Main bedroom the carpet needs cleaning the skins we’re coming loose from the wardrobes Twin bedroom the carpet needs cleaning the springs on the beds are awful, the lamp didn’t work or the one of the power points Living room on moving the furniture in the living room to clean before leaving I don’t think it has been done for a while I think it would be good for the owner to see this in order for them to address this with the cleaner

  • "Yes the bed was really uncomfortable with the old spring mattress and they were poking through everywhere and the two single beds made our stay miserable as we both ended up with our backs in agony."

    Ended up coming home early.

The only downside to the park it was in was the shops owners dog was parking at everything that moved and being close to the shop it was quite annoying especially as the owner never tried to stop it when my little girl was asleep.More consideration would have been nice. The place we stayed in was very nice and enjoyed the stay..

  • "Firstly let me get the negatives out of the way and hopefully this will assist others that are looking to book this Lodge."

After a drive of 7 hours from Glasgow we arrived at this Lodge to find it cold and a musty smell. Heating was all switched off, free sat box did not work. No internet connection although when I did enquire I was given the code to connect to wifi however even though you had wifi you had no internet access. So had to use all data allowance on phones. No soap available and no toilet rolls. Once again the owner apologised for cleaner not leaving some. Think the cleaner had other things on their mind as there was dog hairs under the sofa and chairs. Duvet cover was and torn and needed replaced. However I don't think this is all down to the owner people who stay here need to accept some responsibility too if they don't clear up after themselves. Hob needs replaced as its seen better days and is old and engrained in dirt we never used it. If you are a large gent like me better to sleep in the two single beds rather than try and squeeze between wall and double bed to get to your side. Now it may sound as if I have nothing good to say about this lodge far from it. When heating was on it was cosy and snug. Beds were actually ok and able to sleep. Tv worked although did not go on a break to watch tv. New Quay only five minutes away by car, Cardigan bay 17 miles and Aberystwyth 20 miles. Local shop on site and PUb served food so was handy. What I will say is if you want a relaxing break away from the hustle and bustle and have dogs ideal. Plenty of walks and you will need to be a driver to get around. Unfortunately due to circumstances we had to cut break short and return home to Scotland so had to leave 3 days early. Avoided all the bad weather.

  • "Lodge was extremely dirty when we arrive, so much so that after a 4 & 1/2 hr journey, I had to clean the place from top to bottom before we could unpack."

Looked as though it hadn't been cleaned properly in a long while, dog hairs everywhere, fridge was dirty with hairs in it, freezer had 3 cm of built up ice and grim, beds were extremely uncomfortable, bathroom was covered if fluff, hair, and mould. Very disappointing.

  • "Caravan wasn't cleaned, after a phone call it was sorted with in 90 minutes, but not what we expected or needed after a 5 hour journey."

The caravan was listed as having WiFi which it did but it was so slow it was unusable. Apart from the above once the caravan was cleaned we had a great stay.

The site is very tidy and well maintained and close to local towns such as new quay. There are plenty of local eateries and beaches and the scenery is stunning every where. We will almost certainly book again.

  • "I was disappointed to find that there was no wi fi internet access as advertised."

On finding that there was no connection we enquired at the office and were assured it would be dealt with, but we had no connection for the entire week. This meant that I accrued charges on my phone package and that of my partner. In general the lodge was very good. Sincerely D. R Phillips

At some points we were the only people on the site and found that there was no entertainment at all. The people on site seemed very stressed to help. We just felt isolated. So this paticular site we wouldn't return.

  • "Arrived at just after 3."

00pm to find the lodge in a filthy condition. I had driven for 4 hours and was hoping for a rest. Rang Sykes and they were very helpful and sorted the situation out, but we had to hang around for 2 hours. Had I not had my granddaughter with us I would have driven home and asked for my money back. Would not stay at this lodge again. As for their being WiFi that’s a laugh. Had booked this lodge partly so that my granddaughter could use her computer no such luck, no internet at all. So all in all not a good holiday would not go there again.

A very clean and well managed site with very pleasant and helpful staff. Having the restaurant/bar on site is definitely an asset as it offers a variety of options from breakfast to dinner which are in walking distance and very pleasant surroundings. Again the staff were very welcoming and particularly dog friendly! ( Each dog visitor gets their own bowl of water and dish of treats!!) A thoroughly enjoyable break so close to amenities ( Newquay is about 5 minutes away ) and yet far enough to offer peace and tranquillity. We have already booked our next break in September!
