  • "We had an amazing family stay at Red House Farm."

The house is in a beautiful rural setting with fabulous views, it’s very well presented and was just as described. I would definitely recommend it to those wanting a peaceful stress free holiday.

  • "Positives: excellent location and most of the equipment/facilities were as promised."

The hot tub is a real asset. Negatives: some of the kitchen utensils were poor - notably the knives in the wooden block - they were unbelievably blunt. We were only supplied with 4 dishwashing tablets, and the dishwashing clothes/towels/brushes wee inadequate. The beds are not king-sized ad one of our guests had to move beds as one of the beds gave him a very bad back after one night. Friday arrivals and departures are hopeless from a travelling perspective as we got caught up in rush hour traffic on both journeys (to and from the property).Expecting guests to leave by 9am on the departure day is a joke for groups of 6 or 8. Your note to guests on what we were expected to do in terms of leaving the property 'clean' is condescending and gives the impression that we ae doing you a favour by staying at your properties. We always leave any place we stay in for a holiday 'clean'. How you expect guests to do everything your list and still leave by 9am is a joke. We just about did it but it left a poor taste.

  • "We had the most fantastic holiday at Red House Farm, the property itself is beautifully done inside and out and caters for everything and everyone."

The breathtaking views that surround the property are simply stunning, you literally just sit back and breathe in the spectacular scenery, which even includes Snowdon. (We did this many times in the hot tub!) Welshpool is a short drive away and it’s a lovely little town with nice shops and cafes. We would highly recommend a day out at the British Ironworks Museum which is close by. But if you don’t mind the journey then definitely climb Snowdon we did and it was incredible. Difficult but brilliant!! I would recommend Red House Farm and we would love to go back again. My only criticism is one of the mattresses on one of the beds (my one) was quite lumpy and not very comfortable, which did effect our sleep.

Very fortunate with the weather so hot tub was used most days ... extremely clean and safe ... checked by the owner Mark regularly throughout the week. Did walk to and from village ... but is stretching on return as all steep up hill. Would recommend Black Lion Friday curry night ... Red Lion and Goat also do good pub food. We found it easier to eat in most nights as quality butchers in the village with extensive selection of meats and speciality dishes ... really spoilt for choice! We had a fabulous week here ... exceeded our family accommodation we have ever stayed in.

This was a much needed break and I had tried to extend it by 1 night. I was unable to do this online as a minimum of 2 nights is required, I tried to ring several times and gave up after a minimum of 50 minute waits. It's in a lovely location on a hill with beautiful far reaching country views. There is a large garden which our dog greatly enjoyed as there was dog proof fencing all around. There is a large, generally well equipped kitchen and a large sitting room with wood burner and large TV screen which we enjoyed watching films on together. The bedrooms were well appointed with very comfortable beds, one twin and 3 king sized beds, one of which can be separated to two 2'6" beds. Three bedrooms face the garden and fields at the rear and one has wonderful valley views. The patio just outside the kitchen french doors was a great sun trap with generous wooden furniture and a bbq. The hot tub was greatly enjoyed by all and is sited near the lounge facing the valley. The house was beautifully clean and quite minimalist, we wondered about having hooks on the back of bedroom doors and possibly more drawers etc to unpack but Mark is really helpful and if you feel you need anything just ask as we did (a large saucepan arrived within an hour). We had a wonderful, relaxing week and would thoroughly recommend this lovely house.

Unfortunately this was when storm Emma brought all of the snow. I was contacted by Mark the owner who advised me of the weather and the struggle to get up the country lane to the house due to the severe weather. Mark gladly came down the hill for us in his amazing 4x4 buggy and brought the three of us and all of our bags up to the hill. He did the same journey on countless occasions to bring the other members of the group up to the house open their arrival and even at one point brought our shopping up for us upon meeting him in the village one afternoon. Mark was so unbelievably helpful throughout the week and even drove us all back down to it cars at the end of our stay! I cannot recommend it enough.
