"We had a great holiday in this cottage which is very comfortable and very peaceful."
Wonderful if one enjoys walking and beautiful countryside. Ben and Sandra couldn’t be nicer and we are extremely pleased we chose this cottage.
-
"The stairs are very steep and no stair gate at the top, only the bottom."
-
"The cottage and its surroundings were beautiful."
We really enjoyed our stay!! Would highly recommend staying, as it was quiet and very relaxing.
-
"Lovely cottage, hosts friendly and helpful."
Beware the satnav drops out just near the entrance which is now a bridge not a ford so that was a couple of seconds of confusion. Cottage and surrounding countryside was perfect.
-
"Wonderful stay!"
This was just what I needed, having a week away in beautiful surroundings, it was so peaceful! I would definitely return for a future break, and would recommend to others as well!
-
"A lovely short break in a beautiful, quiet area."
The silence is deafening! The cottage is gorgeous: comfy, homely & traditional, but with modern twists, & a perfect place to - quite literally - get away from it all! Ben & Sandra were delightful 'hosts' & couldn't be more warm, friendly or helpful. Using the log burner was great & there are SO many places to visit within 20 miles. We walked up Rhinog Fawr, using a path that starts from the cottage, wandered happily around the Nantcol waterfalls a few miles away, & had a lovely pub meal in the Victoria Inn in the nearest village, Llanbedr. If you want peace & quiet, this place is paradise.

"We stayed for three nights at Cwm Yr Afon Cottage, and I just wish we could have stayed longer."
The cottage is really well decked out with everything you could possibly need. The owners are really friendly and helpful in the farm next door. It is a great location for exploring the Rhinog’s and we were able to walk up Rhinog Fawr from the cottage and Rhinog Fach just a 20 minutes drive down the road. I would thoroughly recommend staying here.
-
"A well appointed holiday let being the smaller of two lets of a converted barn, set within an ancient oak woodland very close to a river, and in the foothills of the Rhinog mountains."
It felt such a remote and peaceful place, yet the village was only a mile or two down the road. The farmer and his wife who own the property were very approachable and the farmer, whose family have been in the valley for several generations, was happy to give advice and share his knowledge of this lovely area.We still have to finish off walking the Rhinogs and I would not hesitate to go back.
-
"The location is fantastic, its as quiet as you would expect from somewhere so remote!"
The cottage itself is absolutely beautiful inside and out! I would highly recommend this as a get a way! Even the wifi isnt as bad as youd expect!
-
"Delightful farm cottage in the countryside, in a very peaceful location next to a small river."
The lounge area was cosy & comfortable & it had an ample sized bedroom with very comfortable beds. It provided access to local hills, waterfalls, walks, pubs & was within travelling distance of local steam railways, castles, slate mines & seafront. The owners were extremely helpful & friendly. We enjoyed both the cottage & local area & would have no hesitation in returning.

"Absolutely fantastic stay."
The perfect couples getaway. The cottage was absolutely gorgeous with plenty of stunning walks nearby to take our dog on. Also close enough to Snowdonia to get there for sunrise, which was incredible. Couldn’t recommend this place highly enough, will definitely be coming back again.

"We have enjoyed our time at this cottage."
The scenery around our cottage is beautiful! We liked that we had an opportunity to use the fireplace! We would like to return to this cottage "čwn Yr Afon Cottage".We greatly appreciate your welcoming of pets into the cottage.
-
"Very nice cottage, clean and comfy."
Full Beautiful fireplace , look fit the oven to the side , lovely . The owners are lovely Good for walking . The road to the cottage is very narrow at times with stone walls each side in parts , only three marked passing places in three miles . However, there are other places where cars can pass each other and we only met a few vehicles when we went out .
-
"Lovely cottage very remote which is what we wanted nice quiet and relaxing."
The property was clean and welcoming with everything we needed and the owners couldn’t do any more being very helpful and responsive to our needs. Well done had a great holiday even brushed up on our reversing into passing places on the lane !!

"A beautiful cottage in a quiet and peaceful location , a good place for walking ."
Waking up in the extremely comfortable bed to just the sound of the nearby river and the birds song was perfect . I was made to feel very welcome by the lovely owners, Ben and Sandra and intend visiting again as I enjoyed it so much .
-
"Great location, wonderful welcoming and friendly hosts."
Cottage finished to excellent and yet unfussy standard. A perfect romantic getaway for two.
-
"The hosts Ben and Sandra were so welcoming and friendly and I learnt a lot about sheep farming and land ownership in Wales!"
We wish you the best of luck with the cottage business and appreciate how hard you work to do this. The cottage is perfect, well presented and perfect location if you want an escape from the "Rat Race" of everyday life. The pictures don't do the cottage justice it is very cosy, clean and well looked after, we will be returning soon! Would thoroughly recommend.
-
"Totally exceeded all my expectations and took my breath away with its beauty and scenery."
The owners did everything in their power to make us feel welcome and settled. Absolutely beautiful cottage surrounded by views that are stunning!!!!
-
"Location is Beautiful, virtually traffic free and very rural."
Excellent for escaping However, as I discovered not so easy when you do not have a car. Also, there were times when I could not access the internet. Need to be organized as even if you do have a car its a 20 min drive if you have forgotten anything. I love this location amazing outstanding walks and I just want to go back as a great escape. Sandra and Ben were helpful once they understood my predicament. My boyfriend loved the log burner kept us cozy I love the bath nice soak after a walk in the hills. My dog Alfie was so happy too,

"Harlech is a beautiful place."
..particularly the Castle and the beach. Ben is a great guy and really helpful and it was a pleasure staying in such a tranquil location. Cottage cosy, warm and comfortable and the log burning stove a delight.
-
"The owners were very welcoming pleasant and informative."
The location was as remote as described but that suited us to a tee. Every bit of the surrounding area was beautiful. The cottage was homely and had all you could need. Family holiday well enjoyed.
-
"Was exactly the holiday we were looking for."
Remote walks right from the door. Sandra & Ben the owners are lovely and v helpful. As stated in details, no mob signal and internet intermittent which was ideal for us. Pleased to note a bridge has now been built so no need to navigate the ford which was fortunate as we only have a fiat 500! If u like remote and wonderful walks and scenery (with a couple of good pubs 3.5 miles away who do good food) then book it now!!

"I had a lovely stay in Cwm Yr Afon Cottage in May along with my dog, the cottage is ideally placed for walking and exploring the area, tucked away yet easy to reach."
The area is very scenic, based on the edge of the Rhinogydd I didn't use my car all week as explored on foot, mainly into the hills around Rhinog Fawr and Rhinog Fach but walked one day into Harlech on the back lanes. The cottage itself is kitted out to a high standard and has everything you need for a comfortable stay, Sandra & Ben were very welcoming and on hand if you had any questions. There were no negatives, had a great stay and would recommend to anyone looking to explore this area.
-
"The cottage is set in a beautiful location with stunning scenery, with loads of peace and tranquillity."
The cottage is maintained to an excellent standard, with everything you might need being provided. Although the owners, Ben and Sandra, are only next door they did not intrude, but were always more than happy to help and offer advice when asked. If you want somewhere to escape and to recharge your batteries, then this is the place.
-
"Cottage was perfect, complete peace and quiet in a near deserted area but only a 10-15 mins from shops / restaurant etc, access to lovely walks and countryside literally on the doorstep, very comfortable and spacious accommodation for two and extremely friendly owners."
If looking for a quiet getaway and you enjoy the outdoors this cottage is perfect.
-
"The cottage was lovely in a wonderful location with stunning scenery."
The owners were very friendly and available if needed for anything including local information.
-
"We felt description could have described how remote the property was."
Suited us but may not suit everyone. Only reason we would not re-book is we never go back to same place
