  • "Great facility and a wonderful location."

Hosts could not have been more friendly and the village is beautiful in the Autumn.

  • "A well appointed property, in a lovely location."

Extremely comfortable and furnished to a high standard. Only criticism, a tea and coffee pot in the kitchen would be helpful. Owner arrived with a supply of logs for the wood burning stove and was happy to take any enquiries we may have had during our stay. We had no issues whatsoever and therefore didn’t need to contact them. It was reassuring that we could so if we required to. Overall a relaxing break in a lovey property in a picturesque town. Highly recommend.

We are pleased you have had a nice stay. We have now purchased a new tea pot and cafetière. Best wishes, the owners of Gairnlea House Property Owner

  • "Modern and comfortable with stylish decor and beautiful furniture."

Large rooms and super king beds with lovely crisp linen. A couple of kitchen items missing in the kitchen (large saucepan, vented spoon) but everything else 99% and we would definitely recommend.

Glad you enjoyed your stay, and we will add those kitchen utensils you have mentioned. Regards the owners. Property Owner

  • "Great house and very roomy, will return again!"

. Only issue was lack of mirror in bedroom 2, that aside I would highly recommend Gairnlea House

Glad to hear you enjoyed you stay, and we have purchased a mirror for the second bedroom so both now have mirrors. Thank you regards. Property Owner

  • "An excellent property."

The most comfortable seating in any holiday property we have been to (And we have been to many). Super location, outdoor seating a pleasant sun trap, everything we needed available. Ideal for a family of four or two couples. Good choice of local eateries. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

  • "The reason for marking down the listing was for a small, but important, point."

The house is attached at right angles to a single storey cottage (let out by the same owners), and both face into the shared, beautiful garden. It’s not clear from the listing that you are in such close proximity to another let (perfect if you rent both for a larger group). The house is beautiful, and the furnishings are stunning. My comments above are to make others aware. It won’t affect your holiday, but highlighting so it doesn’t take you by surprise. Fabulous stay.

  • "Had a very comfortable week at Gairnlea."

The house is tucked off the road and is extremely quiet, with a very relaxing garden - yet central for all amenities. We will certainly return here, if we stay at Ballater.

  • "Fantastic stay in a beautifully renovated cottage."

It had everything we needed for our walking trip and plenty of space for our 8 month old baby. The garden will be great to relax in during sunnier months as well. It's just a pity we couldn't bring the dogs with us.
