Beautifully furnished, a warm welcome, great facilities, gorgeous situation and fabulous that it is dog friendly too. We were all cosy and comfortable. I would highly recommend the property and appreciate all the personal touches and very hospitable owners. This is one of the nicest cottages we have stayed in and would love to return. Thank you so much!

  • "Drumhead Bothy was beyond our expectations - on the pictures it looked great, but in reality, it is a little bit of paradise!"

the Bothy itself inside is beautifully decorated, most comfortable and well equipped. Outside, the garden is safely fenced which was great for our dogs, and lovely to be in as it was full of trees and bulbs. Finzean itself is a lovely wee spot with the farm shop restaurant a short walk up the road. This was one of the best weeks we have had together on holiday in the UK, and we very much enjoyed meeting the owners who live next door, but who are most respectful of space. On arrival, the fridge was stocked with some lovely things including a bottle of wine! I am sure we may be back, although I imagine this place gets booked up quickly.

  • "Loved our stay at Drumhead Bothy."

Angus and Judy were fantastic hosts-warm and welcoming but not at all intrusive. On arrival we were pleased to see the Bothy was as cosy as we’d hoped and fantastically equipped for our week long stay. (from toilet rolls and Fairy liquid down to a welcome pack of biscuits, tea, coffee, milk, butter, bottle of wine and orange juice). There were even scented candles. Everything was so well thought out and full of heart. A real surprise was the beautiful gardens surrounding and the orchard of apple trees, which we were advised we could help ourselves to. A truly stunning part of the world for exploring too. Very relaxing and would recommend highly. We had a wonderful, relaxing stay.

The bothy is really homely and it is very pleasant sitting outside in the yard (a suntrap ) or the shady orchard after a good day’s walking/biking/fishing. A short walk away is the Finzean farm shop and cafe with excellent coffee, home cooked lunches and cakes as well as takeaway meals. Highly recommend Drumhead Bothy for an escape to the country but with Good amenities nearby.

It ouses quality and comfort. A bedroom off a bedroom will not be ideal for some, but for a couple only using one bedroom it was a truly wonderful place to stay.

  • "The property was everything I expected and more."

It was a warm, cosy property and lacking nothing in amenities. Angus and Judy, the owners of Drumhead Bothy, were lovely people and were there for us if ever we needed anything, not that we did. There is a lovely farm shop less than 5 minute walk from the property and has a very nice tearoom serving a variety of foods. Excellent walking area with fine views. There is a nice pub, The Boat Inn, which serves nice food and is about 10-15 minute drive away. Fabulous in every way except for the weather which was lousy!

Owners stay in cottage next door and were very friendly but we're sensitive to our privacy. We appreciated the kindness they offered. This was one holiday that I would have definitely stayed on but alas had to return home. Hopefully we will return.

What a week we had - the welcome we received at the cottage by the owners was truly genuine and made us and our dog Lexy feel we had truly landed wonderful accommodation. Nothing was too much, so helpful and the cottage spotless, tastefully decorated, so clean and even treats and a blanket for Lexy - nothing was left to chance. Such nice small touches. The cottage is a 10 out of 10 score and if we were watching 'The X-Factor' we'd have pushed Simon Cowell's golden buzzer! for a Brilliant cottage stay! ! We are a family of four (2 x teenagers) and a lively beagle. The lodge could not be better equip as the owners really have thought of everything with lots of special touches for everyone including the dog. The owners were home in their nearby cottage and could not have been more hospitable. Lovely people. There is an orchard on the grounds, which like the rest of the property is immaculate and was ideal to walk the dog. The farm shop which is a short walk away is great for local produce and breakfast. Thank you to our hosts for making our break one to remember!
