  • “We feel that this property does not meet your usual standards.”

The damp/condensation issue, whereby an industrial sized dehumidifer has to be on all the time, is unacceptable. On arrival the cottage stank of damp, which was the main issue, but there was a lot of chipped paint on the stairs and floor by the bathroom, there was rust on the edge of the bath and the hinges on the toilet seat were corroded. ...

Interestingly there was no comments book at this cottage and we notice that you had had other complaints, however on balance we felt your company dealt with our complaint satisfactorily.

The property

This former fisherman's cottage rests quietly within the friendly coastal village of Whitehills, with access to the delightful towns of Banff and Portsoy nearby.

Pleasantly situated in a residential street, with roadside parking and pretty gardens engulfing the property, this ideal location is the perfect place to bring family or friends, for a well-deserved break in beautiful Aberdeenshire.

Step through the hallway and into the sitting room, where you will find ample, sumptuous seating and an electric fire.

Next door is the snug room with additional seating, a fold out bed, should you wish to bring along an extra guest, and views towards the sea uplifting your mood each day.

The family bathroom rests on the ground floor, a spacious and airy room with a large walk-in shower unit and neutral overtones.

Step into the well-appointed kitchen and enjoy the use of the helpful facilities as you cook up the evening meal.

Together, you can discuss the day's events over your delicious food in the sociable dining room.

The bedrooms comprise a double and a twin, set within the eaves on the first floor, they boast bright colour schemes uplifted by natural light drawn in from the front-facing windows.

This popular village provides families with access to lovely safe beaches and romantic shoreline walks for couples.

About the location

WHITEHILLS

Banff 3 miles; Portsoy 5 miles.

Whitehills is just one of the many atmospheric fishing villages dotted along the stunning north east coastline of Scotland. The village boasts a friendly local pub serving good food and a highly-regarded restaurant at the marina, as well as a grocer’s and a fish shop. The modern marina in the village is a busy destination for boats, especially yachts and pleasure crafts. Conveniently placed just three miles from Banff and five miles from Portsoy, this location has much to offer visitors who will enjoy following the rugged coastline that borders the shores of the Moray Firth, and away from the coast, the area is a mixture of rich farmlands and small hamlets surrounded by luscious green fields - a wonderful base for exploring this part of Scotland.
