"Lovely welcome from the owners who were extra kind when we arrived absolutely bushwhacked."
We would have preferfred a washedr/drier to a dishwasher, though the lowners were very kind and did some washing for us after our first week. We felt the water pressure was a little low especially in the shower. But a lovely peaceful little place. The owners' kindness was wonderful, inviting us to the village Jubilee Concert - and when we arrived home, returning a freshly washed dressing gown!
Thank you for your kind comments - it was a pleasure to have you stay with us. So glad you enjoyed the concert - it really was a lovely Jubilee weekend in the village. Dressing gown is on its way in the post as of this morning! Property Owner

"We so enjoyed our visit to The Hen House."
Our hosts Claire and Chris were very welcoming and had provided us with all the ingredients for a cooked breakfast using local produce, such a lovely gesture. The cottage is light and airy, very well appointed and comfortable. It is in a village within walking distance of The Crown at Gissing, a traditional Pub serving excellently kept ales and good food. The local town of Diss is also well worth a visit with lots of interesting shops including very good food stores. We left The Hen House with very happy memories.

"Hello, our hosts where very friendly and the breakfast hamper was good."
Where the cottage did not meet expectations for us was mainly the heating, I had to ask Chris a few times to come ad turn the heating up as he had the controls, although I can understand his reason for this, I did not think it was good. The heating at this time of year is very important and I felt we should be in control of that. The other point I think is worth mentioning is the oven, it had old fat in the base of the oven and when heated it a bad smell.
Regards
Peter
I am sorry to hear that the property did not meet your expectations reference to the heating.
I would like to assure yourself and future guest that the heating is set to 21°C starting from 6am through to 10pm at night during the winter season.
I apologise if this is not to your preference, however this has never been an issue previously and would like to say that we did come round as requested and increased the temperature to 24°C.
Thank you very much for you comments, your feedback has been taken on board, we would love to see you holidaying with us in the future!

"The Hen House is a delightful holiday let."
It's a converted farm building, as the name suggests, which is just right for a couple seeking a break in the countryside. The accommodation is comfortable and contemporary, well-equipped and well furnished. The hosts are on hand to help with any needs of concerns without being intrusive. It is very quiet apart from the occasional train passing nearby (as mentioned in the listing) and it's set in a farm with poultry, geese, and donkeys and some nearby horses as well as local wildlife.
The location is not close to anywhere, which may be to your liking, but it doesn't take too long to get out to Diss or Norwich or the southern end of the Broads if you want to go for a drive.
A lovely place, commended by this happy couple.

The beaches were approximately about an hour away. They had wi fi, which I wasn't expecting. All together a fabulous break. Really lovely couple.

"What a find!"
We have had the best time on our week away in The Hen House. A fantastic greeting set the tone for a very relaxing and comfortable stay.
Our hosts, Claire and Chris, couldn’t have been more welcoming, providing a cooked breakfast for our first morning there, as well as very helpful hints and tips about travelling around the local area.
We were very fortunate to have great weather which meant we saw the absolute best that Norfolk and Suffolk could provide. Picturesque villages are aplenty with wonderful friendly pubs along the way. The Crown at Burston and The Crown at Pulham Market are a must - but you’ll never be short of somewhere to stop for a pint or two.
The cottage itself is ideal for a couple looking to kick back and relax - all one one floor makes for easy access with a lovely patio at the back to enjoy a morning coffee. Everything you need for your week away is provided - an extremely comfortable bed, en-suite, comfy couch, well-appointed kitchen and plenty of space.
We honestly couldn’t have asked for a better holiday, a lovely place to return to after travelling all day to take in the sights. Thank you! We will be back :)
