"Lovely accomodation, very clean and welcome pack of essentials inc."
Bread, milk fruit and a bottle of wine much appreciated. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.
"Gorgeous house, clean & with everything you need."
Lots of wildlife on the river to watch whilst sat on the decking. Lovely garden centre opposite with a great cafe. Please don't follow Sykes directions as they are incorrect. Phone Mrs Brown the owner!
"The host was fantastic."
Fruit basket and essential on arrival. Just a fantastic location and stay.
"Holiday cottage was amazing!"
So clean and the attention to detail was superb! Owner couldn't be more helpful! HOWEVER Skes are incredibly rude! Stopped responding to my emails, asked a question on Facebook so you stopped me commenting! Directions for the property were incorrect! Had to call owner (who was lovely) who told me she's rang you numerous times to tell you the directions are incorrect and the road names DO NOT EXIST but you haven't changed them!!!
Thank you for your feedback. I'm sorry to hear you had the incorrect directions, we will confirm with the property owner and update accordingly. Thank you again for bringing this to our attention and for your feedback. Property Owner
"Superb location on the waters edge ."
House very well equipped . Easy access to surrounding area . Excellent pub / restaurant 5 minutes walk .
"The Boathouse is a beautiful, well equipped, clean home from home in a quiet location."
The owner of the property was very welcoming upon arrival with fresh fruit, flowers and a welcome hamper, providing us with useful information about the property. We enjoyed sitting on the decking overlooking the water, watching the varied wildlife. The BBQ was put to use on more than one occasion, charcoal and fire lighters provided, giving us another excuse to sit outside and watch the sun go down. The owner of the property checked that we had all that we needed and gave us ideas of places to visit, using the canoe, and even printed out cycle routes, nothing was too much trouble. Really wished we could have stayed longer at this 5 star exceptional property.
"The Boathouse was probably the best cottage we have ever rented."
Well furnished, nicely decorated, very well equipped. The welcome pack was a lovely thought, as was the fresh fruit basket and the fresh flowers.
"Lovely cottage and owner very helpful as we arrived to a major power outage in the area!"
Your directions to the property are not very helpful - the owner provided much better ones from her website - you should use those! Otherwise all went well
"A fantastic cottage right on the water's edge, perfect for canoeing, paddle boarding and messing around on the river."
The owner is clearly very proud of her properties and maintains them to an incredibly high standard, while making her holiday makers feel perfectly at home.
"The cottage was immaculate, well equipped and comfortable."
"The Boathouse was absolutely beautiful, extremely well maintained & in a fantastic location."
We loved to sit out on the deck overlooking the water and watch the wildlife & the sunset each evening. Alice the owner could not have been nicer & we really loved the thoughtful welcome gifts, a food hamper, flowers & fruit. We had a really lovely holiday & would highly recommend the Boathouse to everyone.
"The cottage was perfect spotlessly clean and very well equipped."
A generous welcome basket provided by the owner who was most charming greeting us on arrival and making sure we knew how things worked etc. The arrival instructions provided by Sykes were rubbish, leaving us somewhere in Norwich. I contacted Sykes before my journey for accurate directions. This is what I was sent by email: Following our conversation please copy and paste the coordinates, as displayed below with the comma and space, into google maps. They will clearly direct you to your destination. 52.7709108, 1.4797207 I fully agree that the directions we have provided are vague and when we manage to make contact with the property owner we will seek to update them. The coordinates as sent took me to the hotel across the road. I usually use Google street view to confirm my arrival destination, on this occasion the property was behind trees so not visible from the road. I would have been so easy to get it right but when my final instructions came it was still not corrected. I note another visitor making the same comment. If there is something wrong in arrival instructions you need to put it right. Fortunately I found the Staygb web site and was able to confirm the exact location and give our friends the directions to the property. Very disappointing to have to criticize Sykes this year after so many good experiences of well described well equipped holiday cottages. I hope that next year I will again find my holiday cottage in the Sykes listings.
"A beautiful cottage that nestles against the broads."
Be prepared for all manner of wildlife sightings. A pair of kingfishers were nesting opposite in the banking so that was a real treat to see them. The canoes kept us all busy and provided day's entertainment. Would definitely return.
"Quiet location on the Broads."
Met on arrival by owner who explained how everything worked. Basket of fresh fruit and a gift basket containing wine, butter, biscuits, tea and coffee ,olive oil and sugar and milk in the fridge were a real surprise. Everything was as new and spotless. Owners directions were excellent but those provided by Sykes were useless after getting to Wayford Bridge.
"The location was beautiful, set on a small side-cutting of the river - providing a lovely quiet stretch to make use of the canoes (which we did every day)."
The cottage is also maintained to an exceptional standard - much more spacious than expected, high quality furnishings and appliances, and so well serviced that it seemed almost new.
"The Boathouse is an excellent property, well presented and very welcoming."
We would highly recommend it for a location in the northern parts of the Norfolk Broads.
