  • "This is the second time we have stayed at End Retreat and cannot recommend it enough."

Secluded but within an easy drive to Wroxham or an approx 2.5 mile walk along mainly quiet country lanes. The property has all that a couple could want and with its own parking space there is no hassle trying to park. For anyone wanting a quiet location but within easy reach of the main towns this is for us an ideal location. For a trip into Norwich with all it has to offer just drive to Sprowston to catch the Park & Ride. Free parking (it is covered by the bus ticket) and certainly beats ‘fighting’ the traffic then having to locate appropriate car parks in Norwich. Any queries or problems(doubtful) the owners are very helpful. We thoroughly recommend End Retreat.

Thank you very much for your lovely review , we are glad you enjoyed your week! Many thanks Mark & Teresa Property Owner

Very well situated, with just a short drive to a whole host of great places. Lovely and quiet except for the birdlife; if you're a light sleeper (as I am) then I recommend bringing a pair of earplugs to allow you to sleep through the 5am dawn chorus! The little private garden was the perfect place for a relaxing breakfast before setting out to explore Norfolk. And having a proper Sky Q box was an unexpected little treat for the evenings after a long day walking along beaches or investigating mediaeval churches.

I would add that the Light Railway alluded to in the directions is no longer there and SYKES shoud remove it from the directions supplied. Overall I would rate my stay as Very Good, we enjoyed the wild life (Pigeons) in the garden. Should I consider a holiday in Norfolk Its a place I would book again.

  • "End Retreat was very nice but downstairs a bit cramped."

Luckily we had excellent weather and so made good use of the outside covered patio to eat our meals. Lovely shady garden which was secluded. Not many extras included e.g. no liquid soap in bathroom or kitchen. We did speak to owner who managed to supply us with one bottle. Only one toilet roll supplied. We managed but used to more being offered. No extras for cleaning kitchen e.g. only one J cloth. No scouring pad. No dishwasher. Washing up liquid cheap and not very good. Difficult to clean pans No usual condiments supplied. We did not think to bring salt and pepper as always supplied. Nice to have flowers on table and some goodies in pack but don't think a toilet roll and washing up liquid are goodies. They are necessities. If owners want their property left clean they should provide the appropriate cleaning things.Wonder if this is a fairly new holiday let and owners following Sykes guide as other places we have stayed have always supplied more. Only basic amount of glasses. Only 2 wine glasses necessitation frequent washing up Owner seemed friendly. Never saw his partner.

Hi Alix sorry for lack of extras but these are only complimentary items to help on your arrival! As for cleaning items I thoroughly clean the cottage when guests depart, so there for I don't expect my guests to clean before they leave, there for no cleaning products left! As for a dishwasher it isn't stated on the website! We have been receiving guests for the last seven years and none of your comments have been suggested before! Therefore we will take on board your comments to improve future guests stays! Kind regards End retreat Property Owner

5 mile loop straight from the house. But there are plenty of other walks nearby. Just over 2 miles North of Hoveton, which is where the Bure Valley Trail (9.8 mile) starts for either walkers or cyclists, don't need an MTB a road bike will do. All the facilities in the flat you would need, our only criticism would be the bed was too low (in our 60's) & to get wet in the shower you had to run around, but these are minor points to what was a wonderful stay.
