  • "The cottage is only a few miles from Betws-y-Coed and ideally situated to explore North Wales."

It had everything we wanted and suited our needs.  Overall, we had a lovely week despite the rainy weather for the first few days. We spent most evenings playing in the garden or in the kitchen playing card games. It was also great to come home after a long day out and relax in the hot tub. The welcome gifts were a nice touch and appreciated by all. Would recommend to family and friends and possibly return in the future.

Thank you for your comment. I would just like to explain that a welcome pack was left consisting of two bottles of wine, chocolates and Welsh cakes. We always leave a welcome pack for our guests. Thank you Property Owner

  • "Very clean well equipped cottage."

Perfect setting and well placed for visiting many of the main attractions in North Wales. Only thing that would have made it better is if there were some sun loungers to be able to lie in the garden, which was glorious in the perfect weather we had. Also anyone over 5ft needs to be very wary of the very low doorway between living room and games room. there were many , many bumped heads throughout the holiday.

  • "The farm house is beautiful."

We were met by Mags the cleaner she was aware of a couple of issues in the house but they were never replaced. There were quite a few light bulbs that needed replacing. One of the pool cues were broken. Some kitchen utensils needed replacing and needs a bigger frying pan. We booked the farm house where no pets were allowed on reading guests comments some had allowed the neighbours cat into the house and my brother is allergic to the. I do feel that a dryer needs to put in the house we had to put wet washing on the radiators. There were logs for the Woodburner but we had to go to the village shop to buy kindle and fire lighters. These were messages I had to ask about.

We expect top of the range cottages with home comforts and often pay extra for this standard to make our yearly adventure outstanding. This property met all those expectations & the quiet, secluded location was superb. We are also accomplished cooks & the good sized kitchen met our requirements superbly. Our welcome on arrival was lovely, a nice rapport established, to the point where we almost invited the lovely lady finishing off the cleaning for dinner. Perhaps we will next time!

Stunning walks, friendly outside cat and interesting cow movement at 10.00pm some nights. Superb hot tub with country views and enjoyed listening to the dawn courus by so many birds. • "Maes Madog was the perfect location for us, and the standard of accommodation was excellent, and as portrayed on the website."

My wife and I were joined by our two adult children, daughter-in-law and two young grandchildren. So The location meant that basically anywhere in Snowdonia was within 30 minutes. We enjoyed the Velocity Zipwire, the Fforest coaster/adventure site (very close by), Conwy Sands, and Mount Snowdon, in addition to lovely walks into and around Betwys Coed. We all enjoyed seeing the sheep in nearby fields and even in the garden! The hot tub was enjoyed on many occasions. The kitchen is very well appointed, the lounge is great with the wood burner, and we all found the bedrooms and bath/showering facilities to be enjoyable. Jane, the owner, met us on our day of arrival and gave us a short and comprehensive introduction to the facilities. She was also nearby on the day we left and we confirmed that we would very much like to return. Phil Peggs (6/6/18)

Weekend 11th May to 14th May. We were all impressed with the property and the facilities. The hot tub was well used. The kitchen easily sat 8 adults. The grounds are fantastic and the sheep are entertaining. The holiday cat "Lucky" was an added bonus. We had booked various activities for the weekend and the property was ideally situated to get to all the places. We have all said that we would go back there again. Had a fantastic time. Little extras were amazing.- welsh cakes, bara brith, wine and milk were left for us. Can't recommend this place enough!!! Thank you for a fantastic weekend.

And not forgetting the lillies. The view around the property were stunning with little lambs running around playing :0) there was a resident cat who visited daily, he or she was very friendly so don’t forget to feed it and give him some love if you do visit. There was 8 of us, sitting around the television at night felt a little small for 8 but if you have a few small friends like we did then it shouldn’t feel too bad. The only downside was the log burner, although Jane was very accommadating and brought use logs and got logs delivered the next day, they were very wet so the fire never really got going, the heating only came on for several hours a day which left us quite cold. The whole cottage was clean and has all facilities to cook, the dish washer was a bonus. The hot tub was a treat and we didn’t really move from there. Fresh towels were given to all 8 people which was nice. Over all the place is gorgeous would definitely go again, only be more prepared and bring my on logs which I can get going and perhaps for a longer period to enjoy some of the walks we didn’t get to go on due to the weather Thank you so much for a lovely stay

  • "Maes Madog is like a little treasure trove!"

Location wise it is fantastic for exploring Snowdonia, albeit it is a very small, narrow, extremely steep hill you go up to get to the property (all part of the adventure). We had a Tesco delivery to supply us with all our food and drink for our visit. There are small Spar Supermarkets in the villages but you need to go to Porthmadog or Bangor to get to the bigger supermarkets. The rooms are lovely and spacious, yet cosy at the same time. Lots of period features including the original stove in the pool room, a wood burner, lovely wooden furniture in the bedrooms contrasted with modern kitchen and bathrooms. The hot tub was a super treat. I was adamant that visiting in February, we wouldn't me making use of it. Oh was I so wrong, I was the first one in there every night and the whole group of us used it each day. The kitchen has all the equipment you need to be able to stay in a cook evening meals for 8 and the dishwasher also meant breakfast dishes could be washed and ready for evening meals. Good size fridge freezer and the hob and oven were amazing - 4 gas rings, a griddle, a warmer, 2 ovens and a grill and a warming drawer for the plates! The only down side I would say is if you are above 5'3" be prepared to keep ducking your head to get through doorways. This is a 300 year old cottage, what do you expect!
