  • "Great location, although parking was a little tricky, but offset by the ease of being able to walk into town and leave the car!"

! Lovely house and everything we needed.

  • "The house was lovely & homely & had everything you needed & more."

It was nice to get a phone call from the host to check we were happy with everything & information in plenty of time before the holiday. The house is only a few minutes walk from Conwy a very quaint town. We always managed to park outside the house. A large Tesco is a few minutes drive for groceries. There are a good variety of beaches to drive to, Benllech on Anglesey being one of the best, & we would highly recommend a visit to Aber Falls Waterfall, Llandudno cable car & Tobagonning.

  • "This is a lovely house, well-equipped and very clean and in a great location - just close enough to the town centre that it is easily accessible but without the drawbacks of staying inside the town walls."

Some of the communication from Skyes Cottages was out of date (they had not updated the arrival email with the new details of arrival time) but the owners themselves were very responsive and helpful in clearing this up and also in answering questions we had during our stay.

It had plenty of space, it was clean and comfortable and it was a good location. We were very happy and had a great week (despite lots of rain!)

  • "Where do I begin!"

This property had everything we needed to make our holiday an enjoyable one. The house was beautifully furnished and felt so homely as soon as we walked in. Nigel and Christine the owners of Westfield left us lots of information about Conwy and the surrounding areas. Westfield is a 5 minute walk to Conwy and all it has to offer. It is in a prime location for getting out and about. We will definitely return to Westfield because it's such a lovely time from home.

  • "Only negative feature was the car parking."

This was on a very busy road and with 2 small children to deal with so we had to move our car to a safer place before we could start loading up.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry that you found parking on the road difficult with young children. The price for Westfield reflects that it is on a B road with roadside parking and this is clearly stated in the description. We hope you enjoyed your stay in the cottage as we usually get great reviews. Property Owner

  • "A lovely property with a great layout and in a quite superb location."

The castle and town centre are a stone’s throw away and so not having the constant need for a vehicle was great. Our two children aged 2 and 4 had a great time as did their grandparents! Thanks so much and we hope to come again one day.

  • "The house was well appointed and very clean."

Booked for it's excellent location and size, it proved very close to the town walls and the castle. It was a family birthday weekend with adult children, there were 7 of us - but we all fitted in with comfort. The only downside was the long T&Cs when booking and lack of easy clarity about what happened if we needed to cancel - we booked a long time in advance. I never did find out and we didn't need to worry - but it would make me hesitant of booking again.

  • "The location was fantastic."

We were close to the beaches and lots of other attractions suitable for our 2 young boys (2/3) and so didn't end up driving too far. Also very close to Tesco to stock up house for picnics and dinners. Lovely to walk into Conwy and crab from the quayside and build sand castles on the little beach there. Great Fish and Chips too! It was like a home from home.

In my opinion it is by far one of the best holiday lets in the area. It was clean, comfortable and in an excellent location just a short walk to the Town center and the Quay. I think parking could be an issue but we had no problems parking outside the house.

  • "We chose Westfield as it appeared to be the ideal holiday home for us to spend a relaxing week with my son, daughter in law and baby grandson."

We were not disappointed. The cottage was wonderful - I wish we lived there! We gave the bedroom with the Castle view to my son, but it was a joy each morning to watch the variety of birds visiting the garden with it's lovely trees from the back bedroom. The location of Westfield is close to the shops, Castle and all the beautiful walks. Perfect for us as we came by train.

It's rare one feels a holiday home nice enough that you could live there permanently but that is how we felt here. The phrase 'going the extra mile' sums up how the owners have presented it. Top quality kitchen equipment, TVs, audio equipment, lovely paintings and objects, comfy beds....I could go on. The location is good also, close to the town and castle walls, very easy to locate and drive to other places from. We would certainly consider booking Westfield again.

The property

Westfield is a warm and welcoming, primrose yellow semi detached cottage.

It is only a five minute walk to Conwy's charming high street of independent shops.

Follow the stream to the bridge and take the steps or slope to the ancient archway through the medieval town walls and there you are.

The railway station is also within five minutes walk from Westfield. This superb cottage provides warm and comfortable accommodation.

The sitting room is at the front of the house and is light and airy.

It has a large bay window with a view of Conwy's ancient town walls and town orchard.

It has comfortable sofas where you can spend your evening with your friends or family in front of a cosy log fire. The kitchen diner has a big table for enjoying large family meals and is fully equipped for home cooking.

Behind the kitchen there is a lobby for all those coats and shoes plus a utility room with downstairs loo and sink. Upstairs there is a warm, modern bathroom with bath and shower plus three spacious bedrooms with comfy beds. To the front is a sunny gravel garden with lavender, where you can sit looking at the lovely view of the ancient town walls with a cup of coffee while planning your day. At the rear, steps lead up to a partially enclosed decking area with plenty of seating and BBQ.

Beyond is a grassy lawn and a huge apple tree that provides shade on hot summer days plus apples to pick for yourself, of course, in the autumn. Westfield is great for children, with baby equipment including stair-gate, highchair and travel cot.

There is plastic tableware and a cupboard full of games.

A visit to Conwy castle is a must along with crabbing on the quay, nearby sandy beaches and Conwy's annual Pirate weekend!

For older children a free walk around Conwy's ramparts gives amazing views, including a unique view of Westfield itself. As a center, Conwy has a beautiful 12th century castle, many pubs and restaurants, a historic quayside, medieval houses (that you can visit) and art and craft shops.

Its great for a walking holiday as it is close to the Welsh coastal path, the Conwy Valley, Conwy mountain, an RSPB reserve and of course, Snowdonia.

In addition there are frequent special events held in Conwy, from the Honey Fair to torchlight processions and Conwy Feast. If you want to jump into a car, within just a few miles are bustling Llandudno with its pier, the wonderful Bodnant Gardens, the fastest zip line in the world and the beautiful wide sandy beach at Colwyn Bay.

Further afield, for day trips are Anglesey with miles of coastline, Chester for excellent shopping and the vibrant cities of Manchester and Liverpool. For family holidays, walking holidays and getting together with friends, Westfield is the ideal cottage, all year round.

About the location

Llandudno 5 miles; Betws-y-Coed 16 miles.

Conwy, a World Heritage Site, is without doubt world famous for its historical and architectural heritage, yet at the heart of the town lies a hub of bustling activity. Alongside its ancient festivals and fairs, musical recitals, galleries and historical attractions, there is an array of specialist shops, restaurants and hotels. Built for King Edward I between 1283 and 1287, Master James of St George's design, Conwy Castle remains one of the most outstanding achievements of medieval military architecture. The distinctive, elongated shape, with its two barbicans, eight massive towers and a great bow-shaped hall was perhaps determined by the narrow rocky outcrop on which the castle stands. The town is proud of its historic traditions and celebrates its past by retaining many of these in its annual festivals, events and fairs, including the Honey fair, Seed fair and Gwledd Conwy Feast in October, along with other musical events throughout the year. Conwy is the perfect base for exploring the dramatic Snowdonia National Park, walking unspoilt sandy beaches, or taking in the wonderful scenery on your doorstep. Also within reach are the Llechwedd Slate Caverns, which has the longest zip wire in Europe, and Surf Snowdonia is just six miles away.
