  • "Lovely cosy house to stay."

We staying in February and it was very warm in the house. The hot tub was a real treat with fantastic views from it. The house had 2 separate staircases to 2 of the bedrooms on each side of the house. That suited us well but might not with families with children. The floors downstairs were all stone and lots of internal steps (as advertised in the description) but just to be aware that might not suit a family with a toddler, as hard floors and lots of steps. Also beams and oddly positioned ceiling lights meant the taller people in our party were constantly hitting their heads! But would recommend as a lovely place to stay for a walking holiday.

Thank you for your feedback, we are so pleased you enjoyed your stay. The views are indeed amazing, even in February. We hope to welcome you again some time regards Keith & Tracy Property Owner

  • "The property is beautiful and very well renovated."

Brilliantly equipped, with pretty much everything you could think of, plus lots of lovely little extras, which is a lovely touch by the owners. Cleaned to a good standard upon arrival. There were just a couple if things which we found would have personally benefited us. A wardrobe in all 4 bedrooms not just 2 of them A mirror in all 4 bedrooms not just 1 of them. A long mirror somewhere in the house. Plus a small bin in each bedroom would have made things easier for us too. Despite the chandeliers being beautiful, they were quite literally a pain, because the ceilings are already quite low (which of course we expect in a period property), but 2 of our party kept banging their heads on the chandeliers which hang very low from the already low ceilings. For the most part it was peaceful, but there are 2 dogs in cages near to the house who barked on and off throughout the day which was fine, but they barked for longer periods of time and, what seemed to be, louder throughout the night, disturbing everyone's sleep. It would have been good to have known before booking that to go anywhere, even for a walk from the property, you need to jump in the car first, as there is no footpaths or walking routes from the property. Everything needs to be driven to first, then go on beautiful walks in this stunning part of the world. The owners were very helpful when helping us to resolve a problem with the hottub, the gentleman had a lovely relaxed and patient manner on the phone whilst he talked us through what to do to fix the issue. The maintenance man who the owners sent round to look at the hottub the next day, was lovely! He was polite and nothing seemed to be a hassle. The views are fantastic, even outstanding, from this property. The closed off garden is a super touch, especially because we knew our little whoof had a safe place to run and play. The beds are supper comfortable and the equipment provided is of a high standard and the views are out of this world, so for these reasons we would return. Thank you for a much needed break from the rat race.

Thank you so much for your lovely comments, we are so pleased that you and your party thoroughly enjoyed your stay at Hen Dy Craig and was able to relax knowing your dog was safe to run about outside. We think those little extra touches do go a long way to make our guests feel welcome. The dogs - unfortunately this is not something we can change, the dogs are working dogs and belong to the farmer. We have take on board your comments about a full length mirror and will be putting one in very soon, and will also put in better storage for clothes in the smaller room above the kitchen. It was nice that you acknowledged our efforts to resolve the issue when then hot tub went off, and its good to hear to that the maintenance guy who came the next day was also lovely. We look forward to welcoming you again to Hen Dy Craig. regards Keith & Tracy Property Owner

  • "Hen Dy Craig Yr Ronwy was absolutely wonderful in every way!"

Loved the split kitchen/dinning room, great to cook and still chat with rest of party at the same time. Fantastic views from the kitchen patio doors looking down over Lynn Tryweryn, and good keep a eye on the dog in the fully enclosed garden - brilliant! Bedrooms cosy, the snug was a great place to secure the dog overnight for sleeping. Log burner in large living room was fabulous! Loved everything about the house, in one word PERFECT!

Thank you so much for the amazing review, it is heart warming to know that you fully appreciated what we offer at hen Dy Craig. We are so pleased that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay at the house, and I have to agree with you the views are pretty amazing. • "We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the cottage was beautiful and suited our needs - lovely and cosy with comfy beds and amazing views."

Beautifully decorated and very clean! Loads to do in the area and we didn’t struggle to fill our days! No complaints but our only feedback would be that we would have liked more storage in the bedrooms - our son had very little in his room so used a tv cabinet and one room had a wardrobe we couldn’t open so my sister in law had to live out of a suitcase for the week. Not a huge problem and didn’t spoil our stay. Additionally we weren’t aware there would be an electric car charger available (unless we missed it somewhere) - we came in our petrol car as we were concerned we’d struggle to charge the electric car!

Thank you so much for the lovely feedback, we have taken on board your comments about bedroom storage. We were not aware of the wardrobe door but have now resolved this and we are in the process of purchasing better storage for the bedroom that need it. With regards the EV point has only just been installed and not yet completed, this is why it is not noted on the Sykes description just yet. We are pleased it didn't spoil your stay and hope to welcome you back again in the future. Regards Keith & Tracy Property Owner

  • "We had a fabulous stay at the cottage which is in a great location and easy to access amenities in Bala."

The cottage was very clean, well maintained and beautiful inside and outside. The hot tub made it a great family holiday for all which included grandparents and children as well as a dog. The beds were very comfortable and the kitchen well stocked. The only downside, which is not a fault of the owners is the working dogs who are housed next door and woke everyone up 3 days out of 7 at around 5am with their barking. However that didn't spoil what was a great family holiday in a fantastic cottage and in fact allowed us to see 2 spectacular sunrises which we would have otherwise missed.

Thank you for your lovely comments about the house , we are so happy that you got to enjoy the hot tub. The sunrises can be spectacular this time of the year. Whilst we acknowledge your comment about the dogs, unfortunately this is out of our control. Your understanding is appreciated. We are glad you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you again in the future. Keith & Tracy Property Owner

  • "The location was perfect, the cottage was clean, tidy and had m decor features."

The view was stunning, the beds were comfy and the facilties were home from home. My only negative would be the close by sheep dog kennel to the side of the cottage . The dogs barked regular through the night and this was quite loud even with the windows shut ! Which disturbed us all. Im glad we didnt need to open them as the weather was quite cool but this could be an issue for some families or light sleepers.

Thank you so much for the feedback and glad you enjoyed your stay at the cottage, we acknowledge your comment about the dogs barking, unfortunately this is out of our control as the dogs are working dogs owned by the farmer/landowner. Apologies for any inconvenience caused. Best Regards Keith and Tracy. Property Owner
