  • "We were a 3-generation family group of 15 all ages from 12 upwards plus two dogs."

We all thoroughly enjoyed our week in Cwmalis Hall- the feel of a genuine country house with room for everyone, a lovely warm kitchen and space to play, read, play the piano, prepare meals. The weather was brilliant and we had picnics outside and used the gardens , the games and the hot tub. Emma was available if needed and had left us a very generous welcome pack. Many interesting places to visit and walk without having to go too far so suited us all.

  • "Wow what a fabulous cottage!"

We stayed early March for my hen do and it was just perfect. 16 girls in 8 bedrooms and we fit comfortably all throughout the house. The large living room was great for entertaining. The kitchen was so well equipped and to an excellent standard too. There were plenty of bathrooms too. The hot tub was the extra touch- great for a spot of bubbly in the evening. Perfect location with a small drive into Llangollen, beautiful scenery and great restaurants. The owner was helpful, pleasant and very discreet when treating the hot tub, she even allowed the bridesmaids the sneakily dress up the cottage before arrival! We will most certainly be back!

  • "We were absolutely delighted with all aspects of our stay at Cwmalis Hall."

The location is great, kitchen well-equipped and more than enough space to chill out, dine and explore outside for our large party of 6 family groups. The self-contained lounge with a wall-mounted TV was ideal for entertaining the smaller children and the snug/dining/kitchen area worked well for spending time together as a full group without being in each other's pockets. There were more than enough mugs, glasses, plates etc to meet the capacity of the house, and the quality of appliances and kitchen equipment was much better than the average holiday let. The hot tub was straightforward to use and I can imagine the terrace area being very well-used in warmer months. The owner was very accommodating and helpful, with quick responses to email contact. There were sensible accommodations to ensure the property could remain Covid-safe should legislation or guidelines change. We did not need to use these at the time of our trip, but at the time of booking it was very reassuring that this had been thought through and that our holiday would go ahead in most cases, short of full lockdown and travel restrictions. All in all one of our best finds in almost 20 years of self-catering stays as a group.

  • "The property is a bit tired."

A few faults were experienced but quickly fixed. No wardrobes in some of the bedrooms meant there was no where to hang clothes. Emma Wass lovely and helpful. We enjoyed our stay.

  • "Beautiful house in a great location, even though on a busy road the noise was minimal."

Location near to Llangollen was great aswell. Emma the owner was lovely very helpful letting us in early to put up decorations and calling to see us with her gorgeous dog to see if we had enjoyed ourselves. House was very clean, warm and had plenty of space for my daughters hen weekend.Loads of towels for the hot tub although we had our own aswell. The only couple of things I would say could be improved is the signage at the entrance as it is not very clear and as you are turning off quite a fast road it can be tricky, and the downstairs bedroom has no where to hang clothes. We are definately thinking of coming back next year. Thank you Emma

  • "Lovely old house."

Quirky mix of Welsh Farmhouse and Georgian. Lots of well equipped indoor space for 13 of us so we could all be together or separate as desired. Warm and cosy with endless hot water for showers etc. Plenty of room for dining indoors and out. Big lawn for games, we played football and had an inter-generational croquet match with the children; also adventure wooded area for exploring and bug hunts.Hot tub a big hit all round, nice and warm even in the evening and easy fits 4-6.Good parking and easy access to and from Llangollen. Parking in Llangollen is busy so go early or be prepared to walk from the outer parks such as the Eisteddfod site. Can recommend the Three Eagles for lunch, Pontcysyllte, Forest Coaster at Betws-y-Coed, and Plas Newydd. Welcoming and helpful owner. Worth a visit

! Great location with easy access to Llangollen and other local facilities, yet away from it all. The Hall layout is perfect for a big group and Emma the owner was responsive to any needs / questions throughout.

  • "What a magical place for a staycation!"

The hall itself, Its facilities and the location were absolutely what we needed. There was plenty of space for us all to hide away from each other and chill in the way we most wanted. We thoroughly enjoyed the hot tub and the little woods to explore. My eldest son and daughter loved having a grand piano to play. From quiet morning "panads" in front of the Rayburn, to noisy family takeaway banquets at the enormous dining room table, Cwmalis Hall gave us the perfect holiday! Thank you. It was very much needed.
