    "On the positives, the cottage was clean inside (apart from some carpet stains) and the kitchen had everything you needed, including extras; coffee machine and wine chiller and abundance of pots."

    Comfortable beds and settee. Owner was contactable by phone and text. A big let down was the garden which isn't like the photos. It hasn't been maintained, a lot of it is overgrown and the front has lots of weeds and dead flowers. We were looking forward to using the garden and fire pit, but this was rusty and unusable. However, we informed the owner and she ordered a new fire pit straight away which the next occupants will benefit from. Other issues was the dampness in the cottage. A dehumidifier is in the main bedroom, that needs emptying twice a day. We reported the extractor fan not working in en suite and bath in main bathroom filling up while showering, which maybe adding to the dampness. The owner who did her best to be helpful and said she has contacted her builder. So these issues maybe sorted now. Other issues we discussed with owner and Sykes. This could be a lovely cottage and garden, with a little more attention and a regular gardener. Please note it may not be suitable for elderly and those with some mobility issues, due to steps in the property and garden.

Thank you for letting me know about the garden so that it can be attended to, apologies if it had overgrown during the busy summer period. The fire pit has now been replaced and the extractor fan was checked and I would like to reassure you that the builder checked the extractor fan and it does work, guests just need to pull the extractor cord. We don't advertise the property as accessible for guests with any limited mobility we try and be as transparent as possible with our advert pictures which show the step to the en suite and the step on the outside patio, so that guests can make an informed decision that the property is suitable for their needs before they make a booking.     "Property was clean enough but there were no towels or welcome pack on arrival (these came later); there was a damp musty smell throughout the rooms unfortunately… we did however find many positives about the property and had a good holiday overall at Carreg Winllan."

The property is an old character style and so we do keep an eye on humidity levels, We have also asked the housekeeper to air the property on changeover.     "Lovely cottage, nicely set out and very comfortable."

    Good storage for clothes and great kitchen/dining space. The garden was beautiful, full of butterflies, rabbits and owls! Everywhere was close even though we were in the north of the island. We loved the secluded setting.

    "We enjoyed our stay at Carreg Winllan very much."

    The cottage is beautifully furnished, beds comfortable and a lovely well equipped ( just missing a pair of kitchen scissors) dining kitchen. We were lucky enough to get a week full of sunshine.. so we made the most of the spacious outdoor area. The cottage is in a vey peaceful location and just a short drive from all the surrounding beauty spots Anglesey has to offer. We would recommend this cottage and would love to return in the future.

    The cottage was beautiful, it was spotlessly clean and very comfortable. The location was also great, nice and quiet and a good base for exploring the surrounding area. Our host was wonderful and was very helpful when I had a query about the bedrooms before we came.

    "The longe is a little small for the number of guest that the cottage can hold but it is accurate to the listing and the kitchen dinner is a great place and spacious."

    My party loved the under floor bathroom floors and the character of the place. I struggled with the heating as we aren’t used to electric heater and it was a fine line between not hot enough and too hot. My husband was the smart meter monitor and switched things off as our adult children who don’t pay bills had no concept. Overall we had a great stay and the cottage was well equipped for our needs.

    I am so glad that you liked the kitchen/diner, bathroom flooring and character. I do give my contact number out to guests pre arrival and would have been more than happy to assist you with the heating if I had known at the time that you needed help.     "The cottage is in a lovely position, with a lovely kitchen and bedrooms and is well-equipped."

    However when we arrived it was cold, damp and smells musty. This improved a little when putting on the heaters but the damp musty smell did not go away and is most obvious in the older parts of the house. So we were really disappointed.

    We did think this property could have been cleaner. The garden at the front could have been tidied up. Also there was a musty..foisty smell which was most unpleasant and we actually came home a day early because of it Although cottage was well equipped we wouldn't stay here again

    "We had a lovely stay and the setting of the cottage and gardens is great, even though the weather was pretty rubbish - windy and rainy."

    I'm not sure if it was the weather but the cottage did seem to be damp when we arrived with a bit of a musty smell. We did use the electric heaters when we were in, but turned them off when we went out, so I don't know if that was why it felt damp. The toilet in the en-suite creaks when you sit on it and the tap was also loose. Other than those minor details, we did think the cottage was lovely and well equipped.

    "There were 4 of using all four bedrooms."

    Upstairs bedroom is not suitable for an adult as I struggled to stand upright & frequently banged my head on the doorway! Also, the coffee machine is very complicated & we couldn't stop it leaking from the frother. Apart from that property was lovely. An outside brush would be useful to clean the patio as we kept treading leaves into the house!

    "The property was perfect for our family."

    We loved that it felt like a home from home and had everything you could need for your stay. The wine, bread and essentials was a thoughtful touch too. It is a short walk to the village of Pen-Y-Sarn but secluded enough to feel like you're miles from anywhere. It's in the perfect spot for the lovely local beaches and an ideal base for friends or families to get together. A bonus was the washer/dryer so that we could refresh our beachwear etc. Jo, the owner is lovely and we wouldn't hesitate to stay again, we highly recommend Carreg Winllan to anyone and hope to be back soon. Diolch!

    "As we have discussed with the owner and with Sykes, we were very unhappy with the standard of cleaning at the property upon arrival."

    We also found the house to be musty/damp and we weren't able to stay for our holiday beyond the first night. Our concerns were addressed by both the owner and Sykes and we've been able to agree to that the standard wasn't acceptable and a refund was issued.

    We were sorry to learn that the standards of cleanliness at the cottage fell beneath what you considered to be an acceptable standard. In seeking to resolve the issue, we were disappointed that having stayed for one night you were unwilling to take up the offer of alternative accommodation for the following evening while cleaners attended the property to address your concerns. In the circumstances we considered it to be in the interests of both parties for a refund to be issued. Property Owner

    "Carreg Winllan is a beautiful cottage, managing to combine period and contemporary styles, particularly in the kitchen/dining area and bathrooms very successfully."

    It is very well equipped and comfortable and the underfloor heating in the bathrooms was well appreciated. The garden is lovely, with plenty of seating and dining areas, designed to catch the shifting sun throughout the day. We were lucky with the weather and managed to take in many of Anglesay's beautiful beaches, gardens, historic buildings and places of interest. Owner Jo is so helpful, and managed to sort out a little problem we had very quickly. We will definitely go back to Anglesay and Carreg Winllan, will definitely be our first choice.

    "Loved it, loved it, loved it."

    Great weekend with my siblings. Nice comfortable beds, beautiful underfloor heating in bathrooms and a cosy living room. Spent a lot of time eating and talking around the big kitchen table, kitchen had everything you needed. Really nice area for walking, we saw the donkeys, highland cows and red squirrels.
