  • “The owners were very friendly and welcoming, and the cottage gave us everything we needed to meet our requirements, whilst we were away from home.”

The location was ideal for walking in lovely countryside, good shopping in Shrewsbury, and accessing some lovely pubs / food (Burlston Arms / Red Lion @ Myddle). Would definitely recommend Acorn Cottage.

Oakdene Farm Cottages

The two charming farm building conversions at Oakdene Farm, rest at the top of the hill in Petton just outside the village of Burlton amid luscious Shropshire countryside. These two similar cottages make up the former farm buildings at Oakdene Farm, still retaining the original stable doors to sustain its wonderful charm. Both Acorn 1 and Acorn 2 cottages benefit from homely open-plan living, comprising of a modern and well-equipped kitchen and a lovely dining area looking out towards the surrounding countryside. There is also comfortable seating gathered around a Freeview TV. Three of the four bedrooms across the two properties benefit from their own en-suite facilities while all of the bedrooms are complete to a delightful standard, accommodating up to eight people in total. To enjoy the refreshing location take advantage of the social courtyard to the front of these barn conversions; rustle up a delicious BBQ with a drink in hand whilst watching the resident ducks and chickens go about their day. An array of beautiful footpaths and trails abound from the doorstep of Oakdene Farm, while the nearest pub can be found in the nearby village of Burlton. This is a fine location for touring Shropshire, as you sit in between the stunning market town of Ellesmere and the magical spot of Shrewsbury with its plethora of listed buildings and much more to see and do. The Shropshire Hills AONB provide even more opportunities for you outdoor enthusiasts, while Oswestry, Wrexham and Chester are all accessible with a venture north. Two welcoming cottages, ideal for couples, families and friends.
