  • "Quite apart from the fantastic weather that we enjoyed on our Holiday in Snowdonia , We whole Heartily recommend Yr Hen Stabel as an immaculate "Holiday Let", It is clean, well looked after, comfortable and welcoming, Bethan and Gwion , the owners of this brilliant attached holiday cottage, (No problems with being "attached" in any way at all) Having been on a holiday to many cottages over our 53 year marriage, Yr Hen Stabel, rates for us No."

1 in our Welsh Holidays (I must say that all have been good on the 6 times that we have visited Wales over the years) If you want a small 2 bedroom cottage with not only such welcoming owners, but when you do arrive and park up at Yr Hen Stabel ........just take a look at the fabulous Scenic view that you will enjoy, every day albeit Rain or Shine. For us who come from the lovely "flatlands" in east Anglia ,Yr Hen Stabel it is a 10 out of 10.

It is outstandingly well equipped with everything that anyone could possibly wish for (better equipped than my home), and more. It is lovingly and well maintained by a delightful couple, where our enjoyment is their aim. If I return to Snowdonia, this is where I would wish to stay. Peace and tranquility in abundance. Plus, if you are lucky, the best Damson jam in the World.

  • "This is a wonderful, cosy cottage for three people, with a well-equipped kitchen in a great location for access to all Eryri (Snowdonia) has to offer."

Things to note: - they provide a welcome pack to get you through the first night/day (tea, coffee, sugar, pint of milk and a treat). - there is a separate freezer with 4 drawers (so you're not restricted to a small fridge ice box). Great news if you're a batch book like me, who could pull out several freezer meals, transport in a cool bag and then put directly in the freezer. - there's a slimline dishwasher (so you don't have to handwash everything). They provide 6 dishwasher tablets too, as well as washing up liquid, sponge and drying cloth. - they understand that you might get dirty on walks/cycling, so there's an entrance area with plenty of storage for wet coats and boots, plus a washer/drier. - the heating is on 24/7, just remember to turn down at night (we didn't realise the first night and woke up in a sweat the first night). Hot water is always available too. - the WiFi is great in all rooms and there's a smart TV for days when you want to lounge (or are shattered from walking up Yr Wyddfa) - there's locable storage for bikes We loved our visit and hope to visit again when it's warm/dry enough to sit outside for breakfast and take in the views!

No where was too far. Waking up to sheep baas every morning was glorious. We couldn't fault anything. We hope to return at some point. And as a final point that water pressure in the shower we would have loved to take home with us. We would highly recommend a stay here.

Booked very last minute but the owners were very accommodating. The living area is compact but perfect for what we needed, for 2 of us plus our 3 month old baby and we found the bedroom spacious, even with a cot. Very well equipped throughout and it made such a difference to have the little things included like hand wash, alongside the bonus of fresh milk when we arrived and flowers on the table. It's clear that the owners take pride in their cottage and we would recommend to anyone wanting a break to North Wales. The location was also good, not far to drive either into the heart of Snowdonia or to the gorgeous sandy beaches. Would definitely book again in future.

My husband asked her husband about golf courses nearby & he went & printed them of for him. The cottage itself was fantastic with everything you needed , except in the main bedroom , there's a mirror on the chest if drawers but the lights behind you , so a lamp would be really helpful when you want to do your hair or make-up & a little stool would be helpful as if you stand you can't see in the mirror so you have to kneel on the floor which is uncomfortable. Apart from that everything was perfect. The views from the cottage were amazing. We had a very enjoyable holiday & would love to go back sometime.
