  • "The accommodation was fine for our needs, however it is very tired, front door sticks, water leaks from front bow window, hoover doesn't work sufficiently, furniture is past its use by date, watch out for the bucket chairs as all the legs are loose."

kitchen was great other than position of fridge as you have to negotiate the kitchen door to get to it. Bedding very old and sub standard. Other than that as cheap budget accommodation it was ok

The Prosecco, tea, biscuits and coffee machine were a welcome surprise. As a side, we found a Kindle under the sheet in spare bed. We left this on the dining table so that someone may pass on to the rightful owner.

Before we arrived I received a text from the owner wishing us a nice holiday, key code and any assistance etc … nice touch where I felt I had a contact if needed . Inside clean and tidy but the unexpected welcome pack was not only essentials but also quality as well ( Yorkshire tea, fox’s biscuits, Prosecco and a few more !) a really nice touch . Living room chairs a bit uncomfortable but nothing serious.. all round a very nice stay at very reasonable price ..

  • "This was a return visit to The Bay, but a different cottage."

Overall, it was lovely and perfect for the couple of days we were there. However, the bathroom needs some TLC; the shower screen/seal/fitting were very black, mouldy and seal had gone hard and splitting. The water pressure was also not good; okay for a quick shower, but wanted a bath; took forever to run and was cold because hot water was pressure was low. Skirting board/shelf in bathroom also not cleaned, dusty/hairy and rust from toilet brush. Everything else was good and I would return for a couple if days, but no longer.

Thank you for your stay at the house and your feedback. We have addressed the issues listed and replaced the shower seal and swapped the toilet brush with a brand new one and also painted the shelf it is situated on. The water pressure when we stayed over the coronation weekend was fine. We replaced the Boiler system within the last 12 months with a brand new boiler with a smart controller. Some previous guests have altered the controller for there needs and not returned to standard settings which the cleaner has had to do on our behalf inbetween guests, sorry for any inconvenice. I would recommend to any guests if they find any faults which hopefully they will not to report to either ourselves directly or Sykes customer support so we can rectify immediatlely where possible. Great location for all amenities and a short walk to the beach. A couple of little niggles - chair in bedroom in front of dressing table was broken and milk sachets in welcome pack (crisps, biscuits, tea and coffee sachets) were out of date. Overall, a very enjoyable stay.

Thank you for your stay and feedback. The chair leg had worked loose with the screws and just needed tightening. All cashet and crisp etc have been replaced. Property Owner

  • "Most enjoyable stay over Christmas, very comfortable and warm."

On arriving there was milk in the fridge and complimentary tea and coffee plus dog treats (nice touch). Also a bottle of wine and biscuits, great after a 3 hour drive and unloading the car. A foot mat inside would be useful to keep the hallway from getting so wet when you come in, but it's difficult when the front door is close to the laminate floor. We used a dog towel. Once again a brilliant stay, would recommend. By the way it has good WiFi and television plus a dvd player if you want to bring any old favourites.

However we were most disappointed because when we arrived the house had not been cleaned. We had a phone call from the owner and the cleaner arrived shortly thereafter. We were promised by the owner payment for drinks at the pub and a takeaway as compensation for the inconvenience. Even though we have contacted the owner we have so far not had the courtesy of a reply also we never received our welcome pack as promised.

Roomy bedroom, very comfortable bed and beautifully quiet. No squeaky doors or floorboards. Instant heat and hot water and quiet location but close to amenities. Both the owner and caretaker very helpful. Best of all for me were all the coastal features around the house. Would highly recommend this holiday home and hope to be back. We had a lovely stay. • "From the minute we walked into the cottage we knew it was incredibly well looked after, it smelt fresh and was perfectly clean throughout."

The kitchen was superbly well equipped and I was happy to have cleaning products to use over the course of our week just to maintain the high standard. We have been visiting The Bay for years as we love being so close to the beach. It was lovely to spend a week in such a well cared for cottage as we have not always had that experience on previous visits (properties booked directly through The Bay). My only criticism would be the parking, it wasn’t clear which 2 designated parking spaces belonged to this cottage, it seems people just park where there is a space but to be fair we had only travelled in one car and we were usually able to park right outside or close to the cottage. I would happily recommend this property based on the cleanliness, facilities & location.
