  • "This was our second visit to ogle cottage and once again we have had a fantastic stay."

The cottage is very clean and welcoming and has great facilities. It is in prime position on the high street in Flamborough with amenities close by and only a short stroll to the beach. The owners have very thoughtfully added some welcoming touches such as books and games, things for the dog and a lovely bottle of bubbly and some cookies on arrival. We would highly recommend.

  • "Beautiful cottage."

From the moment we walked through the door we were impressed The cottage is cosy but not cramped. You walk through the back door into the kitchen area, which is very usable. Lots of cupboards with plenty of crockery, cutlery, pans etc. The large range cooker is great, gas hob with electric ovens and grill. The breakfast bar which separates the kitchen from the living area is great for serving up food. The living area is comfortable with a large settee and an armchair The dining table when pulled out seats 4 in comfort The front porch is handy for coats and shoes. We didn’t use the front door as traffic passes very close to the building. Upstairs the double bedroom is a lot larger than the photos show with a very big fitted double wardrobe with drawers. There is also a dressing table with a stool. Lots of power points and lights just where you need them. The decoration and curtains are lovely. The bathroom is divine. The large bathtub is superb although it does take a while to fill but there was no shortage of hot water. The large separate shower was invigorating The top floor has two single beds but can be made into a king size bed on request This also has lots of wardrobe space and drawers. Outside at the back is a lovely seating area with table and 4 chairs with a gate to keep children or pets enclosed. This is a lovely sun trap when the weather is good. The stairs to the first floor run from the back door in the kitchen and are very steep. The second floor is reached by a further set of stairs past the bathroom up to the second bedroom. We are in our mid to late 70s so no problem. But could be difficult with small children or less able bodied. The cottage is well placed for shops and pubs and some lovely walks to the coast either at North or South Landing. There is no grassy area at the cottage so it does mean a short walk around the corner to the green for doggy exercise and toilet. Overall we were very impressed and would highly recommend

On street parking but always a space. Convenient for local shop and pubs. Accommodation comfortable and warm. Everything you need. Plenty of bedroom cupboard space. Lovely bathroom, separate shower. Very clean , with cleaning items available. TV smallet than we used to but we tuned our Netflix account and happy enough. Lots of local places to visit whatever thè weather. Had a pint in Dog and Duck andd Ship. Both do food but didnt eat so can't comment .......Only issue , we arrived in the dark and took some time to find key safe around the back, through back gate. ( it may have been mentioned in emails but cant recall)...Would return again .

The accommodation is excellent, it was equipped with most things you would ever need on a break. Loved the village which also catered for anything you would need. I would absolutely stay again if visiting the area and would highly recommend to others. Ian, Annmarie and Nala.

  • "The cottage is in a great location with shops, pubs and take aways on its doorstep."

It was clean and cosy downstairs and had a lovely courtyard. The owners had left wine and biscuits which was a nice touch. Unfortunately the upstairs had not been decorated in what seemed like years. The carpet was grubby and worn.I had to wipe over the bed frame as it was dirty in parts. It was also nearly on the floor with a poor quality mattress and old sheets. We had a lovely holiday in Flamborough and for what we paid I guess I shouldn’t complain but I think this is a fair and honest review. We wouldn’t return to Ogle cottage.

  • "Overall the cottage was good."

Nice location, plenty of utensils and very welcoming. However, the cleaning really does need addressing. There were cobwebs from the kitchen ceiling; touch points and handrails were dusty; kitchen worktop was sticky. This wasn't a big deal to us, but other holiday makers may be more upset. Saying all that though, we really enjoyed the holiday and location.

It had such a lovely cosy feel and was a really nice place to come home to after a day out exploring. It was in a great location too and we found everything we wanted was well within walking distance. I loved the extra touches such as a cupboard full of games and dvds and bits for the dog. Both bedrooms were really spacious top which was great as we had 2 cots to fit in but still felt we had plenty of floor space. The courtyard was nice and secure as well again ideal with 2 small children and a dog.

We felt instantly at home walking into the cottage. The cottage has everything you might need, large fridge freezer, washing machine, dishwasher, iron and ironing board, microwave, toaster, even spare dog bowls in case you've forgotten to pack yours. They really have thought of everything. The living area is cosy and comfortable with a large sofa that is not shown in the pictures, there's also a tv with streaming services, freeview etc.. It has large bedrooms with plenty of wardrobe space. The outside patio is a lovely place to sit in the afternoon and early evening sun. The cottage is in the centre of the village with everything within a 2 minute walk, 4 very good pubs all serving food, 2 fish and chip shops, co op, cafes, butchers serving breakfast sandwiches and crab/seafood shops. This is the best cottage we have stayed in for a long time and is such a reasonable price for what you get! We hope to be back very soon!

  • "The only downside was the bed on first floor, very poor mattress."

I understand that holiday homes never do provide good mattresses (apart from Premier Inn and Travel lodge, those are sublime). It was a long climb up to the better bed (twins hooked together) but even then not as comfortable as it could be, aching backs every morning. We cut short our holiday because our backs wouldn’t take any more. Very sad to leave as we love Flamborough and surrounding areas and in all other aspects the cottage was homely and welcoming. Welcome gifts were a nice touch! Would we go again to Ogle cottage? yes if the mattresses had a topper on or were replaced with one of good quality. The girls did an amazing job, cottage was spotless!

Thankyou Carl for addressing your concerns. We shall deal with the front porch immediately. Although on a High Street, there was no noise that kept us awake etc. Chippy a few yards down the road. In centre of Flambough village 4 miles from Bridlington. Parking was not an issue, but you may need to park a little away from the property. as Residents next door cars there most of the time. One of the best clean property we stayed in. It suited us as a couple with a large dog. Will definately go back again. There is No Garden just a decking area, which means you have to get up and take your pooch for a wee on the grass area which is appox 150 metres away. But this was not too much of an issue. Everything you needed in the kitchen, we was left some lovely biscuits which did not last long, and a bottle of wine. Thank you to the owners. We went in October 2020 just before 2nd lock down. You can walk to the sea which is appox 15 mins. Plenty of pubs to go for a drink. Exceptional meal at the Northern Star, Who went out of their way to make me feel safe in these covid times.
