"We really enjoyed our stay it was nice to be able to get to see all the places we wanted to see the only thing that we missed was watching a movie at night as there wasn’t much to pick from ."
-
"It was a nice property, with everything that we needed."
Only issue was that we needed basic groceries like milk on arrival, and the closest shop was over 2 miles away in Robin Hood’s Bay, and that was about to close

"Had a fabulous stay in this beautiful cottage!"
Presentation fantastic! Everything we could have wanted was supplied, very well equipped. Only downside was The Flask Inn opposite is currently closed down and up for sale!
-
"Super base for exploring Whitby, Scarborough, bits in between and the moors."
Though we had autumnal weather in June, we found plenty to do out and about. The cottage was toasty warm (see below for a cautionary tale though) and the winter-weight duvet appreciated. We were disappointed there was no tumble dryer as this was a) needed and b) on the Sykes listing. Otherwise, everything was as described and we were very happy with the accommodation. The cautionary tale? We chose to crate our two dogs overnight and popped the crate against a wall to keep it out of the way. Unfortunately, this happened to be the hottest part of the underfloor heating and though no harm was done the dogs were definitely too warm. The heating does not appear to affect the centre of the lounge area, so placing the crate between sofa and kitchen worked fine.

"Fantastic place to stay!"
Very clean. Warm and inviting after a day out. Comfortable evenings after days out in the north Yorkshire moores just chilling out. Very quiet. In a word, perfect . It was a pity that the "Flask Inn" is no-longer open and doing food, however that said, as the pub / inn is only 30 feet away from the cottage, I did wonder if Stable Cottage would still be as quiet if The Flask was open?

"I love this cottage, half way between Whitby and Scarborough, but isolated enough to properly switch off and relax."
-
"A beautiful quiet place to stay ."
Lots to see and do in short distances. Will definitely return 5*

The only disappointment was a that the pub opposite is now closed down so there is no where to have a meal out near by so please take that off the add

"Stayed for a week at the beginning September."
The stables was very clean and had all the utilities you need. Pub just opposite very reasonable priced if you wish to use it. Perfect position for exploring the area. Would use it again. Thanks

"Firstly, the cottage was really lovely."
It was very comfortable, furnished to a very high standard, was well equipped, and the owners very pleasant and helpful. However, the cottage was not in a tranquil position in the countryside as the description suggests. From the back door you can see a bit of countryside beyond the bank, but certainly not from the front. There is a large pub a few paces directly in front of the cottage with car parking and a sitting out area, a static caravan site to the right, a touring caravan site to the left, and a ‘through’ road passing directly outside the cottage to facilitate all the above , and also to the A171. In addition to this there is a bed and breakfast, and a ‘jet’ garage on site near the pub. The garden was not enclosed which was not stated either. If you like to be on top of a pub, in a busy area, this location is for you. I must reiterate again, that I have no complaints about the cottage, or the owners, just the very misleading information. I have photographic evidence to prove my point.

The cottage was excellent, there was a welcome pack of tea, milk and biscuits, the cottage itself was spotless and garden lovely, the only negative which probably was our fault the garden wasn't enclosed so we couldn't let the dogs wander around on there own

"Beautiful cottage in a beautiful destination ,well recomended, will visit again"
-
"The holiday was great."
The endless spam from Sykes is not great, I could get up to three a day. Unsubscribing didn't help. It means I have to add you to the spam list.

"Excellent, well equipped property in a peaceful location ."
Perfect location with easy access to Yorkshires East coast resorts and the North Yorkshire moors.
-
"We have been to Stable Cottage many times & have always found it clean, comfortable with beautiful surroundings."
The owners Andrew & Caroline are very friendly, lovely people. There is pub opposite which serves good food at good prices. We are returning again later in the year.
-
"A very comfortable well equipped cottage ideally located for exploring the N Yorkshire coast and moorland."
Very warm and cosy to return to after Autumnal days out.
-
"We booked this cottage because it was so near to a pub and a shop ."
However the pub never opened all weekend and the shop shut early evening so there was nothing open when we arrived tired and hungry . The cottage was beautiful and cosy clean and comfortable but lacked the basics like coffee extra toilet roll salt and pepper! The cottage is in a very scenic location but in the middle of nowhere you need to drive or take the bus to Robin Hoods bay or Whitby.

"What a perfect cottage."
Attention to detail on everything. Warm, Cosy, Spotless and well equipped. Caroline and family were always on hand if needed, but there was nothing we needed that was not already supplied Perfect Location, for the whole area. Highly recommended. Wish we could have stayed longer, and will do next time. Thankyou.

"No reading lamps, had to use torch,no cooking trays, outdoor furniture not comfortable, really enjoyed the holiday, great location for visiting coastal resorts."
-
"The accommodation was very clean and comfortable, Carol the owner was pleasant and helpful."
Would recommend and go there again.

"Visited this cottage several times and never fails to please, quiet and restful."
The cottage is always clean and comfortable. The owners Caroline & Andrew are a very friendly couple and very helpful. We have already booked to return in September, feels like a second home. Excellent holiday.
-
"Stable cottage was wonderful."
.The location was perfect for our first visit to the Yorkshire coast. Beautifully decorated and very comfortable. The owners were so helpful, we can highly recommend it and will definitely be back..
-
"The cottage was an excellent choice for location and size for 2 people."
The hosts were very nice.
-
"The cottage was warm dry and comfortable when the weather was wet and windy."
The sofa was lovely and comfortable as was the bed. We were delighted that the bathroom was by the bedroom so we didn’t disturb our dogs in the lounge. Unfortunate that the bathroom door snagged on the floor. The kitchen was very well equipped although we found a shortage of cutlery but we used the dishwasher plenty as the tablets were there for us. We found lots of lovely beaches and the dogs had lots of free runs on them. We would like to return when this madness is all over. We were very glad to have gone away before 2nd lockdown.
-
"The cottage was absolutely lovely."
All the facilities were there, the standard of cleanliness was exceptional. Yes I would recommend and yes I definitely would visit the cottage again.
-
"It is a comfortable cosy cottage in the middle of nowhere perfect for a peaceful holiday."
The owner Caroline is friendly, any problems and she puts them right immediately. This is our 4th visit and will be back again next year virus willing.
-
"The departure was not easy went up to the campsite to hand the keys in the reception was closed also the campsite reception closed."
Nobody told us when we got there about handing keys back in on departure. Also key pad to get out of campsite not given. Also no information about using the facilities the microwave did not work but if instructions were there that would have helped. The garden not secure and also no outside furniture so when you got back and the weather was nice no where to sit.

"The cottage was lovely and clean, warm and cosy."

"1. The cottage is south of Whitby not Whitby south of the cottage."
Please change the description and overview 2. The toilet seat needs changing for one that fits properly 3. The flagstones to the front door are mostly moss covered and need cleaning; they were slippery in the wet. 4. We had a powercut - there were plenty of candles but no matches. 5. The wooden chopping board is heavily cracked - needs a replacing with a better non-wooden unit. All of these have been reported to the owner/Grouse Farm reception. Other than that the holiday was fine albeit rather concerned that it was opposite a pub but this turned out to be a very quiet public house and restaurant. L shaped sofa is comfortable as is the king-size bed. Bath a bit awkward to get into - high sides; however, shower works well. Fridge a little on the small side even for two - but difficult to see what else could be fitted. Rest of Kitchen is good although no recycling bins provided. TV has freeview reception which is ok- it is not a smart TV but as the Wi-fi is quite good Amazon Fire or Chromecast can be plugged in the back for extra options. Plenty of parking space alongside cottage. NB you must visit Grouse Farm reception (not a quick walk) down the long approach road next door to get the key.

"The area was ideal to visit many coastal towns."
The cottage was furnished above and beyond expectations with some special little extras. lovely flowers on arrival together with cake and biscuits.
-
"The cottage was everything it said on the tin."
Great area for walking our dogs then back to the cottage in the afternoon for a few glasses and chill. Really friendly owners. Perfect for our "mini"moon. Can't recommend this place enough.
-
"There is always a compromise but not on this occasion."
The property has everything we needed to make our stay perfect. If I was to be really picky I would suggest a a fenced off area out of the rear door so our dog could just nip in and out safely. Apart from that no problems at all and the owner is lovely Kind Regards Phil

"The cottage was perfect."
Having previously read some of the reviews we were a little unsure about what to expect. Our worries were unfounded. The cottage is in a relatively quiet location. Its deceptively spacious and well furnished. On arrival we had a greeting package of fruit, cake & biscuits. The cottage is warm (Underfloor heating) and inviting. There's plenty of cloths storage in the bedroom, chest of draws and wardrobe. I travel extensively and its the first time that I have had to many coat hangers in a wardrobe. The location is perfect. Its a short drive to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, North Yorkshire Moors and Scarborough. We had a great week stopping at Stable cottage and we will be booking this cottage in the future.

"This is one of the best equipped cottage that we have stayed in."
The welcome pack was great & we thoroughly enjoyed our stay here.
-
"Very relaxing and enjoyable."
-
"The Cottage is absolutely perfect for 2, is spotlessly clean and furnished and equipped to a very high standard."
There was also a welcome pack so no need to take tea/coffee/sugar. The owner was very friendly and approachable. It is very near to all the attractions on the East Yorkshire Coast, and a pub which is literally across the road which serves great food and drink at a very reasonable price.Cannot recommend this property and the location enough, you will be pleased with your choice.

"The cottage is a high quality renovation with tasteful, quality furnishings and decor."
The one criticism of the cottage itself is the lighting. Candle bulb candelabra style lights hung high in the high-pitched roof looks lovely but means lighting down at person height is very dingy. Very cosy and romantic if sitting watching TV etc - but totally impractical for reading, looking at maps etc. Anything really necessary has to be taken to under-wall-unit lights in kitchen area. They do nothing to boost daytime natural light on overcast mornings either. (I went home with my holiday book unread!) However, the biggest disappointment, from our personal point of view, was just how close the cottage is to the Flask Inn. The description says 2 minutes from pub and shop, which we felt should be okay - and possibly even useful. The shop was indeed approx 2mins walk but the rear entrance of pub was less than 15 seconds walk from the cottage door! Although we wouldn't have selected this property if we'd known, this wan't too much of an issue for most of the week, as long as we kept the front blinds permanently closed. However, our arrival weekend coincided with an annual motorcycle rally, that uses the Flask Inn as its base! From our arrival on Saturday afternoon until the small hours of Sunday morning there were dozens and dozens of motorbikes screaming up an down the main road , immediately the other side of the pub - and even some along the little lane between the front of Stable Cottage and the back of the pub! There was just a few hours respite, then they started again at 5am!!! The cottage was a good base for exploring a lovely area but we would not book it again. A cottage in a small village just back off the main road would have given us the peaceful retreat we'd so wanted, without compromising access to all the places we wanted to visit.

"The cottage was lovely and the location perfect for a relaxing holiday and plenty of things to do around the area."
-
"A lovely cottage, well equipped and extremely comfortable perfect for 2 people plus a dog."
