  • "Well sized cottage with beautiful views over the countryside and a nice walk into Whitby although the council could do to lay a path right up to the entrance and again a path up to the Stables inn would be nice."

The bathrooms were excellent and having the one down stairs as my 9 year old grand daughter has Cerebral Palsy made life so much easier. Comfortable beds but be aware the roof sloping if you are not careful is headache material. Plenty of parking space and a enclosed garden gave the grand children a nice play area. A nice dog walk area was a help in the mornings Loved the cottage and would definitely go back with the family. One little thing and didn't realise till the day we were coming home there was no bags to put the linen and towels as it stated in the book

Property owners very helpful when needed. Generous sitting room. Parking provision good. Only drawback was sloping roofs of bedrooms for some - quite a few head bumps (and we’re not giants). Relaxing holiday though.

  • "Cottage was very comfortable although the sloping bedroom roofs were a bit of a challenge."

It had everything needed except for a bath mat to prevent slipping whilst showering in the bath. However this was rectified immediately when reported thank you. Perhaps a little chicken wire around the perimeter would be an idea for very small dogs like ours so we could make more use of the garden. Brilliant location for walking to Whitby and accessing major routes by car too

  • "The cottage is large and well equipped."

It is very comfortable downstairs, however the slope to all of the bedroom ceilings meant that although the rooms looked spacious for at least a quarter of the room I couldn’t stand upright and I am only 5 foot tall. My husband and the rest of the party are much taller than me so they had more of a problem. I can’t comment on the owners as I didn’t meet them. The information in the welcome book needs a bit of an update. That said we did enjoy our holiday and will be returning to Whitby in the future.
