The property

Nestled in the small village of Cloughton, in the beautiful North York Moors National Park, is this superb log cabin.

This property is just as suitable for friends as it is for small families and couples, its superb layout is ideal and its location in this rural village has easy access to some excellent pubs, which makes it exceptional.

Look forward to relaxing and unwinding into the evening curled up on the corner sofa with your loved ones, catching up with your favourite shows, whilst the warming electric fire provides that extra bit of warmth during those chillier winter months.

The farmhouse-style kitchen has a wonderful set of wooden worktops coinciding with the period-style of the cottage, as well as plenty of counter space to prepare all types of home-cooked meals.

The dining area provides ample space for family gatherings over a hot meal and a refreshing beverage, with a convenient breakfast bar to enjoy a hearty breakfast whilst planning the day's events.

The property has two bedrooms: a double and single, with plush beds for getting some much needed rest for the day's ahead.

There is a family shower room where you can enjoy a warm soak at the end of a tiring day.

Step outside to the garden with lawn and gravelled areas to enjoy, take a seat on the provided bench with a refreshing drink and delight in the picturesque country views.

Due to your rural location, you are perfectly placed for accessing some wonderful country and coastal walks.

The nearby town of Scarborough offers a number of attractions, including Peasholm Park, a Japanese-style landscaped park and gardens, perfect for those looking for some scenic walking.

SEA LIFE Scarborough is also nearby, something you and your little ones can delight in exploring and spotting all the exotic underwater creatures.

The medieval Scarborough Castle rests on the site of an ancient stronghold and has panoramic views across the coast.

Also discover a number of traditional Yorkshire pubs and restaurants for that fine dining experience.

Further afield is the historic seaside town of Whitby with the opportunity to visit Whitby Abbey, Captain Cook Memorial Museum and the 199 steps, as well as Whitby beach.

Castle View Cabin is an exceptional base for those looking to escape to the coast.

About the location

Scarborough 4.8 miles; Ravenscar 6.3 miles; Robin Hood's Bay 11.6 miles; Whitby 14.8 miles.

Cloughton lies just under five miles north of Scarborough, on the edge of the North York Moors National Park. Home to old cottages lining the main street and more modern developments behind, the village boasts an eclectic mix of contemporary and traditional to bring a charming atmosphere to all its visitors, as well as offering a welcoming farm shop where you can pick up any essentials and two pubs on the main street and two on the outskirts. Close by is the popular 'Cinder Track', a disused 23 mile long railway track, that's now used for walking, cycling and horse riding. There is easy access to the Cleveland Way, a long distance trail that hugs the cliff top as it winds its way to Hayburn Wyke, a rocky cove with a waterfall and inn, Robin Hood's Bay and beyond to the north and south to Scarborough. Popular since Victorian times, this vibrant seaside town of Scarborough retains many of its original fine buildings, parks and gardens, as well as its historic castle which overlooks the town. North Bay and South Bay provide two superb stretches of beautiful, golden sandy beaches, popular with families and small children. There are a number of child-friendly activities and many excellent visitor attractions for grown-ups too, including the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough Spa and Scarborough Open Air Theatre for live music. There are plenty of outdoor activities within easy reach too, with golf courses, coastal walks along the Cleveland Way, stunning cycle routes such as the old railway to Whitby, beautiful sailing and championship quality surfing, offering something for every taste. Ideally situated for touring both the coast and countryside, Cloughton is an ideal base for a fun-filled break at any time of year.
